Wonder Wickets Nebula Changelog

UPDATE: This post has been changed to feature all Nebula changes!

Long time no see, eh? Well it's been quite a while since our last update, but we've finally got one cooked up and almost ready to go! Note that I say almost, this is because we'll be doing things a bit differently this time around. As you may have noticed in the title, this is going to be the first official release of the Wonder Wickets Nebula build! Don't be alarmed though, this is an entirely opt-in version of Wonder Wickets specially made for beta testing! Preview newly introduced bug fixes, changes, potentially new bugs, and even the pre-release macOS build! Help contribute to development by testing these builds and posting about them here on the Steam forums or in the official Discord server! To try out the Wonder Wickets Nebula build, go to your game library in the Steam Client, right-click on Wonder Wickets and select "Properties", go to the "BETAS" tab, and select the "nebula" branch. Allow Steam to download the new build and then enjoy the beta! Just know that due to the nature of these Nebula builds, updates may be pushed/reverted without notice and you may encounter more bugs than usual in these builds! Be sure to use the newly implemented *in-game bug reporting to report any bugs you encounter.
* In-game error reporting is only available on Windows

Wonder Wickets Nebula 1.0.12.2 Update Changes Made:
  • Temporarily disabled hit-points in virtual trail to prevent crash, solution to crash is being worked on.


Wonder Wickets Nebula 1.0.12.1 Update New Additions:
  • Added the ability to cancel your swing after confirming power
  • Added the ability to import save data from latest demo version
  • Added new error handling screen along with bug reporting


Changes Made:
  • Changed “Beta Version” to “Version” in debug overlay
  • Changed and fixed some misleading/misspelled text
  • Changed and updated some loadscreen text
  • Changed copyright information for game executable
  • Changed version number to denote “(N)ebula” and “(C)ompiled” builds
  • Updated some parts of the credits
  • Increased size of workshop menu
  • Added Freen in Green logo to intro
  • Updated goodies menu button icons
  • Next level button now only displays upon replaying a previously completed


Bugs Fixed:
  • Scoring in online multiplayer is now functional
  • Texture scaling now functions correctly on macOS
  • Optimized systems used for networking, string rendering, input detection, and camera positioning
  • Stardust collection is no longer based on position
  • Optimized entire game by compiling via YYC
  • Particle effects are now synced online
  • Workshop vote screen now works with mouse input
  • Removed some debugging shortcuts

Wonder Wickets 1.0.11 Changelog

Huh, it’s been quite a while since the last update hasn’t it? Well with time comes… a lot of changes and fixes! We’ve been working on the bugs you all have reported to make sure that the game is an enjoyable experience for you! With this update we bring balance changes to Stardust, new and improved texture loading to make the game load speedy fast, and better data management options to make sure you don’t accidentally delete your data or anything…!

Wonder Wickets 1.0.11 Update Changes Made:
  • Texture loading will now only load character textures at the start of the game, rather than every time you go to the main menu

    • This should improve level and menu load times dramatically
  • Made achievements regarding secret levels more clear
  • Rebalanced Stardust Versus

    • 20 undeposited stardust = 1 point
    • 10 deposited stardust = 1 point
    • Data management menu moved to Goodies
    • Selectively delete campaign medals, all campaign progress, or all data
  • Removed rogue water tile on Pipedream
  • Added “Texture Scale” option to video options to allow for changing the scale at which textures are loaded into video memory
  • Added “Texture Filter” option to video options to allow for disabling the smoothing filter applied to textures
  • Workshop completion rate will now display “0% (0/0)” instead of “0%” if no completions submitted
  • Improved “Discord Presence” popup text in options menu
  • Levels are marked as complete when both players complete the level in level level editor
  • Nova’s cuteness nerfed to balance with other characters
  • All orbs hand-polished back to sparkling like-new condition


Bugs Fixed:
  • Fixed camera not correctly following players in online versus
  • Fixed black screen on loading screen when first launching the game
  • Fixed exploit that allowed player 2 in local versus to infinitely use powerup
  • Fixed crash when viewing workshop levels with incorrectly loaded icons in versus level select
  • Fixed Rocket powerup for peers in online versus
  • Fixed crash at the end of an online versus match
  • Fixed powerups being assigned to the wrong player in online versus
  • Fixed crash caused by joining a lobby which is on a different version
  • Removed debug text from displaying on workshop level view
  • Level uploading text is no longer covered by other alert text in level editor
  • Fixed crash when cancelling the “Load from PNG” dialog in the level editor’s startup screen
  • Fixed paint not correctly covering rotatable tiles


Notes:
  • Scoring changes may not be reflected in online versus yet

You know what time it is? That's right, it's time to get spooky! Launch up Wonder Wickets on the frightful night to discover what tricks (or treats!) we have in store for you! Have a happy halloween, wicketeers!

Wonder Wickets 1.0.SPOOKY updates: General Updates:
+ Halloween!

Level Updates:
- Classic: Downhill Slam (added Specs and locked up orbs so new players can figure out how to use recall pads)
- Classic: Four Corners Two (fully rebuilt)
- Stardust: Forest Forrage (minor changes)

New Levels:

Removed Levels:

Misc Changes & Fixes:
- Lighting is now shader based and less demanding on systems with integrated graphics
- Textures are now loaded properly between transition screens, decreasing memory usage and fixes stuttering in areas where large amounts of textures are loaded
- Discord Rich Presence information has been improved to be more descriptive about your current state.
- You can now load PNG levels that you saved previously created (NOTE: only newly saved levels can be loaded through this method)
- Steam Workshop subscriptions now await Steam stats to be loaded, fixing missing names and or thumbnails
- The top score text on the workshop level view now fits to the GUI
- Workshop completion rate now gives an amount of attempts along with a proper percentage
- “Encounter of the First Kind” achievement will now unlock properly
- “Some Kind of Sabotage” achievement will now unlock properly
- An improved “BETA” watermark is now persistently displayed in online multiplayer, giving information about the user and current version
- macOS now properly supports Steamworks features

Notes:
- This update does not include changes and fixes to online multiplayer, as the existing changes were not suitable for release yet.

Bug Fixes:
-Enabled hints for "Infinite Cosmic Power", "Friends From All Planets", and "Cosmic Composer" achievements
-Pausing while orb sinks causes crash (sinking is stopped while pausing now)
-Defeating enemies in time attack or Stardust mode do not count towards enemies defeated stat
-Enemies don't add to time attack timer

Level Fixes:
-Campaign 6-4: Added trap door so you can reach your orb if it gets stuck during the last stretch
-VS Forest Forrage: Reduced turn count to 10
