As a big fan of ARPGs like Diablo, loot-based roguelikes such as Dead Cells and Crypt of the Necrodancer, and Terraria-style explorative, gear-driven indie games, I really enjoyed the first Hammerwatch and its subsequent roguelite spin-off. Heroes of Hammerwatch 2, a sequel to that second game, has just arrived on Steam, boasting seven classes, a city builder, plenty of gear, up to four-player co-op, and potentially "infinite progression." If that sounds up your alley, you can even try it before you buy thanks to a free demo.

Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 release date

Starting the year off with some exciting news,
Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 will be released on January 14th!

Can't wait for everyone to be able to experience the game in full,
make sure you add it to your wishlist to get a reminder when it is released.

also, its been asked a lot, so for confirmation
Demo saves/progress will not carry over to the full game.

Heroes of Hammerwatch II Demo update

Thanks everyone for trying our demo and giving feedback on the forums and on Discord! We're going to keep the demo online for a while longer, and we've just updated it with some improvements and additions.

* Added tooltips to stats in the player screen for a breakdown of where you get your stat from.
* Added a thunderbird that can bring your materials back to town.
* Added indicator in HUD for when you have dash charges.
* Reworked health and mana pickups to be a bit more obvious.
* Added spell power upgrades to Magic Shop.
* Several smaller fixes in shop UIs.
* Changed dirk from an offhand to a mainhand weapon that is now int-based and deals physical and poison damage.
* Improved behavior when switching to fullscreen.
* Game should no longer crash on startup on certain Core i7 CPUs.
* Paladin Conviction: Tweaked and reworked all upgrades.
* Paladin Blessed Strike: Reworked lightning upgrade to be more consistent and impactful.
* Paladin Armored Knight: Wrath upgrade now deals damage based on your Armor.
* Paladin Inner Flames: Stack duration now resets when casting a spell.
* Wizard Arcane Intellect: Reworked base skill and some upgrades.
* Wizard Fireball: The projectile now deals collision damage and loses speed when colliding with enemies.
