New Champion: Baldric

    Baldric left his position as a prominent member of his family’s mercantile empire to seek his fortunes elsewhere. He’s a unique cleric who often confounds other clerics because he refuses to pledge his service or faith to a single deity. He prefers to bargain with any and all of them, depending on the situation, to receive his magic. This has lent him a cocky confidence that has landed him in his share of trouble. But now he’s with the Fallbacks, and over the course of their adventures, his faith in them has become unshakable.

Baldric is a Support and Healing Champion who helps his affiliation members and those with high Charisma. He heals Champions in the columns in front of him, and his specialization choices grant him diverse abilities from assorted deities.

  • Two-Handed Mace(melee) -Baldric attacks the closest enemy, dealing 1 hit.

[h3]Passive Abilities[/h3]
  • Uggie! - Uggie joins the party, starting next to Baldric unless she's already in the formation next to another Fallbacks Champion. Uggie increases the damage of all non-adjacent Champions by 100%

[h3]Formation Abilities[/h3]
  • Bargaining Power - Baldric's bargaining partners are Fallbacks Champions and/or Champions with Charisma of 15 or higher. Baldric increases the damage of his bargaining partners by 100% for each bargaining partner in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Undeniable Uggie - Uggie's buff is increased by 400% when Baldric is in the formation.
  • Healing Word - Baldric heals the Champions in all the columns in front of him for 20 health per second.
  • Shield of Filth - When Uggie is with Baldric, any Champion that is being targeted by Baldric's Healing Word can't take more than 33% of their max health in one hit.
  • Healing Lantern - When any Champion drops to or below 50% of their maximum health, Baldric lights his lantern for the rest of the current area, and all healing received by Champions in the formation is increased by 100% for each Healing Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

[h3]Specializations A[/h3]
You will pick from this specialization choice set twice. When presented with the second set of specializations, the choice you made the first time is replaced with the associated Dark Bargain, which has a different effect based on the option it is replacing. There are effectively 15 different combinations of specialization choices you can choose. (Tyr + Moradin is the same as Moradin + Tyr)

  • Bargain With Tyr - Baldric increases the pre-stack bonus of Bargaining Power by 50%.
  • Bargain With Moradin - You may use any Dwarf Champion in the current adventure, even if the Patron, Variant, or other restrictions would say otherwise. Additionally, Dwarf Champions also count as Baldric's bargaining partners.
  • Bargain With Tymora - Baldric gains the Gold Find role and increases the party's gold find by 100% for each bargaining partner, stacking multiplicatively. Additionally, Champions with the Gold Find role also count as Baldric's bargaining partners.
  • Bargain With Mystra - Baldric's base attack also deals 5 seconds of BUD-based damage and counts as a magic attack. Additionally, Champions with a magic base attack also count as Baldric's bargaining partners.
  • Bargain With Eldath - Baldric increases the effect of Healing Word by 100%. Additionally, Champions with the Healing role also count as Baldric's bargaining partners.

[h3]Specializations B[/h3]
These five options are the Dark Bargains that you are offered in the second round of specialization choices. You are only offered one of these, based on the specialization you chose in the first set. You can pick the Dark Bargain you are offered, or pick one of the four Bargain With... specs that you didn't pick in the first round.
  • Dark Bargain (When Tyr was chosen) - Baldric increases the pre-stack bonus of Bargaining Power by an additional 50%, but the effect of Healing Word is reduced by 99%.
  • Dark Bargain (When Moradin was chosen) - The damage of Dwarf Champions is increased by 100% for each Dwarf in the formation, stacking multiplicatively, but you may only have one of each non-Dwarf species in the formation.
  • Dark Bargain (When Tymora was chosen) - Bosses have a 10% chance to drop twice as many gems, but non-boss area quest requirements are increased by 100%.
  • Dark Bargain (When Mystra was chosen) - All Champions with magic base attacks deal an additional 5 seconds of BUD-based damage with each attack, but all Champions without a magic base attack no longer deal any damage with their base attacks.
  • Dark Bargain (When Eldath was chosen) - Champions are immune to damage for 15 seconds after the first instance of damage that they would take in every area (including that damage), but take 100% additional damage from all sources after that.

  • Faith Aflame -Baldric's mace ignites with radiant light, preventing Champions from being stunned and empowering his attacks for the duration it is aflame

  • Augment 1: Epic Platinum Chests (New Augment)

    Description: Opening Champion-specific Platinum Chests for any of the Ahghairon's Day event Champions will upgrade all the cards inside them to Epic rarity!
  • Augment 2: Empowered Rewards (Returning Augment)

    Description: Tier 2 and higher event variants award Corrupted Gems in addition to their normal rewards.
  • Augment 3: Golden Weekly Offers (Returning Augment)

    Description: One of your weekly offers will be Golden during this event. Golden offers provide an additional 10% discount! The Golden tag persists when an offer is rerolled.
  • Augment 4: Boon Enhancements (Returning Augment)

    Description: An additional boon buff at each level increases global damage based on the number of Champions in the formation that are from smaller species, stacking additively.
    The small species are: Dwarves, Fairies, Gnomes, Goblins, Halflings, Kobolds, and Plasmoids
Note: Similar to our rollout in July the spotlight blogs for the two Featured Champions will also be spread out, with Baldric's tomorrow, August 1st, and Lazaapz's releasing next Friday, August 8th.

Enter the drow city of Menzoberranzan and face both the Cult of Lolth AND the Cult of Vecna!

  • Enemies have their damage increased by 25% for each enemy present, stacking multiplicatively.
  • There is a 50% chance that Vecna and 5 cultists spawn in the first wave of every area. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress.

Face the Demon Lords of the Abyss while dealing with dominated duelists.
  • Bosses can't be stunned, and they immediately start to enrage upon spawning.
  • Every 10 seconds, your current BUD-setting Champion is dominated and therefore Stunned for 10 seconds.

Race through Motherhorn to rescue Gleam's sister with your most athletic champions.

  • Enemies take a maximum of 25% of their maximum hit points each time they are damaged.
  • Champions take a minimum of 10% of their maximum hit points each time they are damaged.

Learn about the Palace of Heart's Desire while facing illusions of Vecna.
  • You may only use Champions that are smarter than they are wise.
  • There is a 50% chance that Vecna spawns in the first wave of every non-boss area. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress. Each time this happens, Vecna's speed and damage increases by 1% for the rest of the adventure, stacking multiplicatively.

Enter the Palace of Heart's Desire and finally unlock the secrets of Prismeer with Nat and Hiss!

  • Nat and Nat's crocodile Hiss joins the formation. Champions next to either of them are busy protecting them and miss with 50% of their attacks.

  • There is a 50% chance that a Vecna Impersonator spawns in the first wave of every area. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress. While this Vecna Impersonator is present, any other enemies are immune to damage.

[h3]Variant: A Tough Offense[/h3]
Find a way to rescue Xedalli and stop Xeleth with your best fighting force.
  • You may only use Champions that are tougher than they are strong.
  • You may only use three Champions that don't have the DPS tag.
  • Complete Area 1150

[h3]The Last Light of Xaryxis[/h3]

[h3]Variant: 10 Minutes to Doomsday[/h3]
Time is tight as the Champions must escape Xaryxispace!
  • Every 50 areas starting at area 1, a 10 minute countdown starts. If the countdown hits zero before getting through the 50 areas, every Champion in the formation is removed and can't be used for the rest of the adventure.
  • Anytime there are less than 7 minutes left in the countdown you can't remove Champions from the formation. This restriction is removed when the countdown timer reaches 0 until the countdown starts again.
  • Complete Area 1200

Search for R04M within the encroaching darkness of the Shadowfell with some arcane allies.

  • There is a 50% chance that Vecna spawns in the first wave of every area. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress. Other monsters have their speed and damage increased by 300% while this Vecna is present.

  • Enemies move 200% faster and attack twice as often.

Make your way to Barovia to find the next piece of the Rod of Seven Parts while Vecna makes his presence known.
  • You may only use Champions in seats 2, 3, 5, 7, and 11.

Survive the night with only elves in Strahd's twisted nightmare… If you dare!
  • You may only use Elf and Half-Elf Champions.
  • A random Champion takes damage equal to a percentage of their max health every second (in real time). The percentage starts at 10% and increases by 10% (additively) every 100 areas. Damage does not trigger for the first 5 (real time) seconds in every area.
  • 1-2 Vampires sent by Strahd spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold, nor count towards quest progress.
  • Complete Area 850

Our Champions face their most monumental task yet: to defeat Emperor Vecna and save the multiverse. Descend into Vecna's Grasp, 'unmake' Vecna's un-realities, and defeat Emperor Vecna once and for all, no matter the cost.

Part 10 is the finale of the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign. You will need to have completed the previous two Vecna: Eve of Ruin adventures, The War of Pandesmos and The Ruinous Citadel, in order to access the final campaign adventures.

  • After area 25, you can't otherwise remove Champions from the formation.

Defeat Emperor Vecna once and for all with the Hand and Eye of Vecna.
  • Undead enemies speed and damage are increased by 300%.
  • The Eye and Hand of Vecna join the formation. You may only place Wizard Champions next to the Eye, and you may only place Champions with a Strength of 18 or higher next to the Hand.

[h2]Vecna Emergence[/h2]
Multiversal versions of Vecna have arrived in the Forgotten Realms to stop you from completing your quests! Defeat the multiversal Vecnae in any Free Play to collect Corrupted Gems that can be used in the Thayan Enclave section of the in-game shop! The Vecna Emergence starts today and runs through Friday, August 1st.
