Hero's Story Release Date

Greetings, Heroes!

Today I present to your attention a new trailer for the game Hero's Story.

The game has a final release date of June 24, 2024.
The full version includes tutorial, a new region and the final boss - the Destroyer!

You can play the test version of the new update now.

I've also updated the Hero's Story roadmap.



Please note that periodic updates and bugfixes will be released for the game even after release.

Great Dragon Update

Greetings, Heroes.

Today a major update was released for Hero's Story.
This update added a new region - Isil Plateau, as well as the new items and enemies, new locations and sounds, lockpicking mechanics and a new boss - the Great Dragon!
This is a big update that fixes many bugs and significantly changes the balance of the combat system. This will most likely be the last update before the full game is released.
Let me remind you that the full version of Hero's Story will have a complete storyline, tutorial and a final boss.

[h3]General[/h3]

  • Game version was updated to 1.1 RC2
  • Now when you hover over an item in your inventory, its price will be shown
  • Now the price of all items will be at least 1 gold
  • Now you can also attack enemies using RMB
  • Players will now have some chance of dealing critical damage
  • Changed the 'Warehouse' level music theme
  • Updated control scheme for the keyboard
  • Updated game credits scene
  • 'Credits' section in main menu has become active again

[h3]Balance[/h3]

  • Now all enemies will drop at least something upon their defeat
  • Increased the amount of health restored by Healing Potion from 50 to 60
  • Increased the amount of energy restored by Energy Potion from 50 to 60
  • Reduced damage dealt by Mysterious Sphere to rakshasas
  • The shooting mechanics of Skeleton Archers have been changed (it has become more accurate)
  • Outlaws will now be able to apply bleed, but Zombies will not
  • Increased Zombie health
  • Now the Zombie will have a small chance of poisoning the player
  • Changed the attack animation of the Sea Giants
  • Increased damage of the Sea Giants
  • Reduced the attack speed of the Sea Giants
  • Skeleton Warriors and Rakshasa Warriors will now be able to block some of the melee attacks
  • Increased damage of Rakshasa Warriors
  • Reduced attack speed of Rakshasa Warriors
  • Now Sorceresses and Rakshasas will be able to teleport during fight
  • Sorceress and Rakshasa attack speed has been slightly reduced
  • High Necromancer's health was significantly increased
  • Spider Queen health was significantly increased

  • Removed unused game levels
  • Removed some unused code fragments

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]

  • Fixed a critical bug when game settings were not saved correctly
  • Fixed a graphical bug when particles from being hit by the Mysterious Orb would be replayed
  • Fixed a bug when the sounds of eating and drinking were not always played
  • Fixed a bug when it was impossible to change the game language from the pause menu
  • Fixed a bug when location names did not appear after cutscenes
  • Fixed a bug when the sounds of hitting the Spider Queen were too loud
  • Fixed a bug when it was possible to get out of bounds in the Magic Forest
  • Fixed incorrect placement of some landscape elements in the Expanse
  • Minor fixes to buildings in the Expanse

Let's take a closer look at some points.

[h2]GREAT DRAGON[/h2]



It was always possible to get through the Isil Gorge into the Swamp of Myths via a single bridge, built during the Old Era.
Rumor has it that a huge dragon recently settled on this bridge! This winged monster has killed many knights and now terrorizes the lands of Central Teandria.
The king will generously reward anyone who can crush or drive away the powerful creature. In the battle with the dragon, potions of protection from fire and magic will help you.

[h2]NEW REGION[/h2]



The mountain range north of Enthor divides the lands of Central Teandria into a few separate regions.
One of these areas is the Isil Plateau, which will be available to players in this update!
The new region consists of several zones and includes several new locations, including an abandoned hut on a hill and a troll cave on a cliff.
Only the most experienced adventurers will be able to defeat all the enemies in this area and collect all of the treasures.

[h2]LOCKPICKING[/h2]



During your adventures in the lands of Central Teandria, you probably came across locked chests.
Now you can try to open these chests using a new item - lockpick.
The more valuable the contents of the chest, the more difficult it is to unlock it! Lockpicks can be obtained from chests or found in different caches.

I'm pleased to announce that starting today, a demo version of Hero's Story is available to everyone.
The demo version includes the first few levels, as well as two of the four character classes.

You can download the demo by clicking on the corresponding button on the game page.

Fallen Knight Update

Today Hero's Story is one step closer to release.
New update adds a third boss, in-game cutscenes and localization system.
Also, the size of the game installation files has been reduced by almost half - and nothing has been cut from the game! This is an important update that fixes many significant bugs, removes some restrictions and generally makes life better for players!

  • The game will now slow down by 90 percent when opening service windows (for example, inventory)
  • Now players will be able to accumulate a total of more than 10,000 gold coins
  • Players will now be able to accumulate over 5,000 Glory Points
  • Ghosts will now drop Ectoplasm
  • Ghouls will now drop Ghoul's Eye
  • The 'Ally' section of the character screen has been changed to 'Origin'
  • The 'Credits' section in the main menu is temporarily disabled for additional filling
  • Changed (updated) names of some monsters
  • Aligned all location names in the UI
  • Tooltips on loading screens and in the game itself have also been aligned
  • Updated icon for the Queen's Poison

  • Fixed a critical bug where it was possible to re-find treasures after reloading the level
  • Fixed a critical bug where defeated enemies would revive after reloading the level
  • Fixed a bug where many sounds were playing too loud in some cases
  • Fixed a bug where some tooltips were appearing too often
  • Fixed a bug with portals not working in Temple of Dragons
  • Fixed a bug where it was impossible to close the inventory from controller
  • Fixed a bug where menu displayed incorrect control settings for the gamepad
  • Fixed a bug where some pop-up notifications were not fully visible on the screen
  • Fixed a bug where healing potions were not saved correctly due to an incorrect (similar) name
  • Fixed a bug where tooltips for pickup items would not appear on hover (they would only appear once)
  • Fixed an issue where new weapons were not properly damaging spiders and sand spiders

[h2]OLD KNIGHT[/h2]



The Kriege family crypt had once seen better days. Now this place is guarded only by king’s revived soldiers, restless servants and revived renegade magicians.
They say that the old knight himself still wanders in dungeons of the family crypt in Expanse! Who can get into the dungeon and put ghost of the past to rest forever?

[h2]LOCALIZATION SYSTEM[/h2]



In the new version game now will have a localization system. This means that players will now be able to change the language in game settings in the main menu.
Localization affects in-game texts, interface and various materials. There are only two options available for now, but more languages may be supported in the future.
The game itself will also try to determine most suitable language when you first launch the updated version.

[h2]IN-GAME CUTSCENES[/h2]



In-game cutscenes play important role in any modern game. They designed to, for example, indicate the path, introduce a new enemy or a boss and also simply make the story more entertaining!
It is worth noting that in the full version of Hero's Story there will be more in-game cutscenes. All in-game cutscenes are made using game engine.

Steam Awards 2023

Greetings, Heroes!

The annual Steam Awards will begin soon. You can vote for Hero's Story in the "Favorite Child" category - I will be very pleased!

Today, exactly 4 years and 1 month have passed since the release of Hero's Story on Steam Early Access. I hope this is the last anniversary before the full version of the game comes out! During this time, 50 updates were released for the game (including hotfixes), which added new content, fixed bugs, and changed balance.

At the moment I am working on a large 1.1 update, in which I plan to add a new boss, localization system and in-game cutscenes.



You can already play test version of the update in a separate branch of the application.
New update is scheduled for release at the end of December. Your Silent.
