New publisher for HammerHelm!

Hi all!

My name is Marten, Community Manager at SOEDESCO. We've teamed up with SuperSixStudios for the publishing of HammerHelm! Jonathan (A.K.A. Calandryll) has a message for you all, but as we're in the transition of the Steam page and we're having some struggles with permissions, please allow me to post his message in his stead!

I'm super excited to announce that I've partnered with Soedesco, who will now be HammerHelm's publisher! Soedesco is a worldwide publisher of both digital and physical games on multiple platforms. Located in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, they have published over 40 games that offer a wide variety in genres. We've been working together for the past few weeks and it's been great to have a publisher who understands HammerHelm and wants to see it grow as much as I do.

With Soedesco's support, HammerHelm is going to get even better! We've decided not to rush leaving early access, allowing us to focus more on improving HammerHelm, adding more content and features, and of course more bug fixing. I'm also going to be working to get controller support and localization support finalized.

I hope you are as excited about this as I am. This couldn’t have happened without all of your support and I greatly appreciate it!

Beta 5.2 - Tweaks and Fixes

Tonight's build includes:
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused your character to get stuck in the combat animation loop.
  • Changed references of "logs" to "wood" in the Shaydee Business quest to avoid confusion.
  • Lowered the minimum amount of stone and wood that needs to be stored in the storehouses before active Stonemasons and Carpenters would start crafting.
  • Increased the amount of stone used to craft a chimney from 2 to 5.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Stonemasons and Carpenters to stop crafting even if the available resources were in the storehouse.

Beta 5.1.1 - A Couple of Fixes

Today's update fixes a couple of bugs:
  • Fixed a bug that caused helmets to disappear if your character was using either the mohawk or fauxhawk new hair styles.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused farmers to remain at their home rather than going back to farming after finishing the cursed farms quest.

Beta 5.1 - Quality of Life Improvements

Today's update focuses on improving aspects of the game based on feedback. I have to say, it's a lot of fun to make a list of things to improve based on the forum posts and emails I get and then checking them off one by one. :)
  • You can now hold down the mouse button to continuously chop a tree or a stone.
  • Fixed some issues that caused already chopped trees to still show up as valid targets.
  • You can rotate the character in character creation by holding down right mouse button and moving the mouse.
  • The out of meals alert now correctly displays the meals icon.
  • You can now save, but not leave the game, from the Escape menu.
  • Added a "Resource Dropoff" sign to the interior of storehouses to make it clear where to do this.
  • Enemy mages will now correctly enter the battle once you are near a spawner rather than stay back.

Ok so that last one isn't a quality of life improvement, but the mages just looked sad standing around while their friends got into the fight. So maybe it's a quality of life improvement for the other monsters. Yea, that's it. :)

Beta 5.0 - Monster Madness

Today's build includes more special attacks for the monsters, including the Orc, Ratman, Skeleton, and Mushroom-man.



  • Orcs wielding hammers perform a smash attack that can knock you to the ground and push you back. This attack cannot be blocked since the Orc is actually hitting the ground, rather than you. You can roll away or move away to avoid the attack.
  • Skeletons wielding a polearm can attack low, tripping you if it hits. This attack cannot be blocked, but you can roll away or jump over it.
  • Ratman wielding two daggers sometimes attack with both in rapid succession. These attacks can be blocked.
  • Mushroom-men wielding two clubs sometimes perform a spin attack, stretching out their arms and spinning in place. These attacks can be blocked.

These monsters act similarly to the old "Brute" monsters and can be recognized based on the weapons they are carrying. Note, all Goblins wield the same large dagger and all have a chance to perform the stabbity-stab-stab attack. Goblins are tricky, so you never know what they might do!
