The Unblinking Eye of Gyl' Rotakan Observes All
[p]The discoveries at Big Claw created a schism amongst the ever-peaceful Bolvins of the expedition team. Most were elated by the opportunity to learn more from the Chi’Khan tribes and their about undeniably real chicken deity, said to have given birth to all known life in the Bitlands. Others had more nefarious plans from the beginning and would become Lord Malakrogg’s Vanguard that sought to control the extreme mutative effects of the Pale Yolk and play with creation itself.[/p][p]However, a much smaller third group of explorers and scientists alike found themselves in such awe that something so truly divine could even exist that they descended into a fanatical cult of worshippers. What started as an effort to simply keep the mighty god appeased, grew into an enlightenment that this being existed somewhere between the Bolvins’ concepts of life and death. They now see themselves as pilgrims on a path to channel even a fraction of this holy beast’s might and ascend to a higher level of cosmic existence.[/p][p][/p]
Womit – Rare
[p]Ascending past one’s mortal form comes with all sorts of inherent risks. Womits are the sentient leftovers of pilgrims who pushed their bodies too far while they themselves were still too early in their spiritual journey. They aren’t used for much, but a Womit is nearly impossible to remove once it has been created.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Dr Gnotnod – Rare
[p]As one of Bolvin society’s leading ornithological experts, Dr Gnotnod joined the expedition to possibly catalog a new species or two, but otherwise fully-intended to kick back and enjoy a paid trip away from civilization. However, the discovery of an avian-based deity radically altered these plans. These days, he mostly focuses on mending broken wings and chipped claws for pilgrims still learning how to operate their new bodies.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Armstrong – Epic
[p]Many ascension attempts are unsuccessful, but not all of these failures are a complete disaster. To date, Armstrong is the largest Bolvin to have tried to transform into a divine avian vessel. These early rituals did not yet account for the pilgrim’s body mass and assumed a much smaller frame than Armstrong’s. This led to wildly disproportionate results that would have been life-ending if Dr. Gnotnod hadn’t intervened. Now Armstrong requires constant support from the medical equipment embedded into his flesh, but only a fool would mistake this for a weakness.
[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Baratoth – Epic
[p]Totems are commonly seen throughout all of the Chi’Khan tribes. Many members of the original expedition assumed these totems only had cultural significance, but as the pilgrims attempted to venture into the void the Chi’Khan’s god called home, they realized these totems were actually weak anchors tying that space to our own reality. A Baratoth takes the core concept of a Chi’Khan totem and enhances it with cutting-edge Bolvin technology to force an entity from the beyond to possess the totem. The result is a much stronger (and angrier) anchor that can be used to reach into, or even pull out of, this imperceivable realm.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Gr’akahork – Epic
[p]The Pilgrims of Big Claw seek to beckon as much as they seek to become. Gr’akahorks are a form of lesser spirits which makes manifesting physical forms for them much easier than their more developed kin. They are simple, infantile creatures that still wield tremendous power relative to the mere mortals who summon them. Given time and proper nurturing, Gr’akahorks will eventually grow into seraphic creatures called Grothoorks.
[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Grothoork – Legendary
[p]As Gr’akahorks develop into Grothoorks, they begin to take a much more active role in the events happening around them. At all times, they seem to work in perfect unison towards an unknown goal even when kept completely isolated from their flock. They communicate nothing and demonstrate no form of hierarchy, but never err no matter how chaotic a situation becomes. On their own, Grothoorks are still incredibly dangerous, and could easily butcher a Bolvin with only a single swipe of their massive claws.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Father Mauritus – Legendary
[p]Father Maritus is the spiritual leader of the Pilgrims of Big Claw. He chooses to take the ascension of his physical body slowly, so that he can work to perfect the rituals for others to use safely. Instead, he hones his mind with countless hours of meditation, and possesses some near godlike power as a result of his dedication. He can temporarily reconstitute Womits into powerful proxies when his frail form is threatened.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Glyphkeeper – Legendary
[p]The Glyphkeeper exists at the border of life and death. It allows Gr’akahorks, Grothoorks, and little else to pass from one side to the other unharmed. Those who try to circumvent its absolute authority are erased entirely without even a memory of them left to remain.[/p][p][/p][p]Glyphkeeper will be revealed by WRLD_EATR[/p][p][/p]
Gyl' Rotakan – Mythic
[p]Gyl’ Rotakan was not summoned. It came into reality of its own volition soon after the first Baratoth was created. It says nothing and sees everything. It watches the progress of the Bolvin pilgrims with intense interest, but does nothing to aid or prevent their efforts to probe the plane it hails from. With every movement, it hums a sound that is somehow both just a little too high and little too low to be clearly heard by mortal ears. On the rare occasions that wandering bandits or marauders have threatened the pilgrims’ enclave, Gyl’ Rotakan simply blinked them out of existence without warning or hesitation. Father Mauritus doesn’t know what this archangel wants from them, but understands that they couldn’t stop it even if they wanted to. So Gyl’ Rotakan’s mysterious vigil continues uninterrupted.[/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Gyl' Rotakan and the Pilgrims of Big Claw will be added to the game on March 19th when the newest World Boss, Gallus Apotheosis, is released![/p]
