Update 1.4.0 - Season 3

Greetings, commanders!

Update 1.4.0 is the first of two major updates of Season 3. This update will be carried out at 07:00 AM on April 3, 2025, UTC time. At that time, the server will undergo update maintenance for approximately 5 hours.

Now let me introduce the main content of this update to you:

New Unit: Abyss

Abyss is a new Titan-class aerial unit, one of the most powerful units on the battlefield, capable of dealing devastating blows to ground units in a large area, and has multiple terrifying Techs.

Let's take a look at the Abyss Preview Video produced by MAG1, edited by Stoney, and voiced by RoosterPB.

Developer's note: Adding a new Titan Unit to the game is always scary. We do not yet know how the powerful Abyss will impact the balance of Mechabellum, and we are likely to adjust this unit in the coming weeks.

New Survival/Brawl Mode Unit: Mountain

Mountain is a new Titan-class unit that can be found in the Unit Reinforcement pool of Survival Mode and 4-Player Brawl Mode. Mountain's strong armor can block most attacks on the battlefield, and its multiple giant cannons can deal heavy blows to enemies from a great distance.

The following are the unique techs of Mountain:
  • Mountain Plating: Blocks 1000 damage when attacked. The damage blocking effect increases with the Rank. And for each Rank, blocks an additional 1000 damage.
  • Gun-launched Missile: Launches a rocket from its arm cannons every 15 seconds. The rocket has a range of 180, causing 22,500 damage to enemies within a 25m radius of the hit point. Damage increases by 22,500 per unit Rank increased.
  • Saturation Bombardment: Increases range by 40, splash range by 3, and each attack fires 16 shells in succession, and shells spread out over a wide area, but increases attack interval by 300%.
  • Extended Range Ammo: Increases range by 160, but decreases ATK by 75%.
  • Photon Loop: Every 30s, covers the unit with a photon coating, decreasing damage received by 30% within 15s and grants immunity to Electromagnetic, Ignited, Acid, and Degeneration Beam effects.
  • Smoke Bombs: Launches 10 Smoke Bombs towards the enemy every 45s. The Smoke Bombs have a max range of 200m and a minimum range of 100m. The range of units within the smoke is reduced by 35%.

In Season 3, we have prepared many new rewards for you, including many avatars, avatar frames, emoticons, and unit skins.

New Unit Skin

New Avatar

New Avatar Frame

Balance Adjustments

Hound
  • Radius of Fire Extinguisher: 30 → 38

Arclight
  • Health points 4635 → 4004 (-14%)
  • [Armor Enhancement] HP bonus 35% → 50%

Developer's note: In the past few months, the pick rate and win rate of Arclight were higher than average. This change hopes to nerf the survival ability of Arclight while maintaining its efficiency against small units.

Mustang
  • ATK 37 → 36 (-3%)

Developer's note: Mustang is the most picked unit besides Arclight. This adjustment will slightly reduce the efficiency of Mustang against high HP units while keeping its effectiveness against small units unaffected.

Specialist
  • Amplify Specialist's player HP bonus + 200 → + 400
  • Supply Specialist's player HP bonus -400 → -500
  • Rhino Specialist's player HP bonus 0 → -200

Game River Has Partnered With Dreamhaven

Hello, commanders!

Today I am really happy to announce that Game River Studio has officially partnered with Dreamhaven. Moving forward, the two companies will strive to make Mechabellum even better and introduce Mechabellum to more players.

Many of you may not be very familiar with the name Dreamhaven, but when it comes to its CEO, Mike Morhaime, and his past creations, I think some of you may have a smile from the heart. As cofounder of Blizzard, Mike worked on and led the development of many classic games such as Warcraft, StarCraft, and World of Warcraft. And developers of Game River, like many of you, have very fond memories of these games. Back then, when we were younger, we never thought that one day we would work with the legendary developer who created our favorite games, let alone imagine that he would become a loyal fan of the game we created!

In addition to Mike, Dreamhaven has many other experienced game experts. In the future, Dreamhaven will help us improve the development plan, quality assurance, localization, and community management of Mechabellum. We will also work with community tournament organizers to promote Mechabellum’s already booming esports scene.

Game River and Dreamhaven both believe that Mechabellum has a very bright future, which is why we are focusing more and more resources on Mechabellum. On the battlefield of Mechabellum, we are very grateful to have teammates like Dreamhaven and Mike! And we are even more grateful for the support from our player base. Commanders, let's meet on the battlefield of the upcoming Season 3!

Sincerely
-Youge and the Mechabellum development team

——

Greetings, Mechabellum community,

It’s truly an honor to partner with Youge and the Mechabellum team on this amazing game. I have been so impressed with the design choices and attention to detail they have put into Mechabellum. Game River has created something very special, and many of us at Dreamhaven are dedicated players (myself included).

In addition to creating a cool setting with awesome mech designs and exciting gameplay, Mechabellum captures the things I love about real-time strategy games, without the high APM requirement! I know there are many players of classic RTS games here who feel the same. To me, it’s an added bonus to be able to support a game and a community that really appreciates well-designed competitive play, with a lot of personality and endless strategic depth.

Another reason we wanted to work with Game River is that we’ve seen how committed they are to continuing to support this game and the community. There’s a lot to look forward to, starting with the upcoming season—as a player and now a partner, I’m eager to see Mechabellum continue to grow and get the attention it truly deserves.

Community is everything, especially for a competitive multiplayer game like this, so thank you for your passion, for spreading the word about this game, and for breathing so much life into the online experience.

I’m very excited about the future of Mechabellum, and I am so happy Dreamhaven can be part of it. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield!

-Mike Morhaime
