Weekly GameDev update

This week we’ve fixed many bugs. We’re not going to print out all details, probably it doesn’t make a difference for you. So far, the game has been checked by testers and we got feedback in the result of we continue bug fixing of the JunkYard Simulator. As you know and could observe, PlayWay is putting a lot of effort to publish games without bugs.

Weekly GameDev update

We’re working on better game optimization and fixing small bugs. Here is a list from last week:

- We rebuild game scaling mechanisms and resolution settings.
- In Quest 3 we fixed a bug blocking the completing the task
- We’ve solved problems with display mode settings for non-native display resolution.

- We’ve fixed a bug with bear and the quest.
- We’ve eliminated all the places indicated by testers where the gamer can get stuck somehow.
- We’ve completed the missing collisions spaces/walls in the junky house (the optimization script wasn’t fully read)
- Now all quests texts are fitted to the window.
- We improved item counting in the starter container and we added dust particles and sound of counting.
- We've fixed the order of messages displaying.
- We added extra space for the description in the tutorial menu. Before now it was displayed on the video what was hard to read.

- Grid alignment in the whole UI and main menu
- We solved the problem with keys and the gate after leaving the barrack (now the gate is openable).
- Dialog skipping is automatic (after a few seconds). It can be turned off in the game settings.
- The hand brake is pulled automatically after getting out of the car. So now there is no possibility of “jumping off the car” during the ride.
- We have fixed a bug of blocking the player after jumping off from the overturned cart.
- In the main menu of the game, after playing the trailer we had a problem with sound on the intro. Now the problem is solved.
- We have improved the graphic scale for ~75 items
- We cut the time of displaying tutorial on the screen.
- UI update for all vehicles.

And much more which were hard to explain without knowledge about the gameplay and the storyline.

Information

Thank you all for your discussion. The matter is showing up in many companies and many titles and believe us, it’s also a subject we're discussing internal. We can’t say we have a golden reception and we’re far away from the position of saying how things should work. We are learning and gathering experience by doing things and listening the people. Your insights are very helpful and we're going to improve on many fields during the work on our games.
Secondly, blaming our publisher isn’t ok. We work together very close during the development and we are deciding on everything together. For example, we made a decision about expanding the game for additional mechanics together.

For sure we can do better many things around the game (like community support etc.) but still, we’re focusing 99% of our energy on the most important - finishing the game.

Btw. We closed another week without any problems or speed bumps. We share more information in the coming update.

PS “The last straight” has his name for a reason :).
