IOSoccer Update - 19 July 2019




[GAMEPLAY]


  • The player standing reach area is now egg-shaped instead of a box-shaped. This is similar to the circle area we had before, but gives players additional reach forward.

  • The player/ball collision area has been reduced. As a result the ball can be moved closer to the player's center before colliding with the player.

  • The Slide tackle ball forward reach has been increased.

Bugs
  • Fixed ball shadow bug when using low quality shadow setting.


Gameplay
  • Standing reach is now a box instead of circle, with more reach forward than to the sides and to the back. (see image)
    A box should be easier to understand and play with rather than a circle.

  • Gravity reverted to 900

  • The shot mechanics have been slightly rebalanced. You can now look down and up 5° more to have more control. Other values have been adjusted accordingly.

  • Slide tackle now has a touch area that’s shifted further ahead but with less reach towards the back.

  • Deflection reach has been increased. This allows player the chance to deflect more shots/passes.


Keeper

IOSoccer Update - 23 June 2019



Reworked the appearance customization menu

You can now set separate styles for keeper and outfield models and preview both at the same time. The base style settings have been merged into one drop-down menu to make it easier to cycle through all styles with the arrow keys.

Added more reach indicators

You can now see the reach you have when sliding and diving as keeper in addition to the regular standing reach. This option can be toggled on/off in "Customize -> Visuals -> Draw player reach indicators".

Removed the experimental radar

We heard your feedback and the majority of you prefer to not have a radar in the game for players on the field. It might come back as a horizontal version only for spectators in the future.
There have been suggestions for having a server toggle for the radar, but we want to ensure a consistent game experience across all matches and not leave it up to server admins whether the radar is visible for players or not.
We might experiment with other ways to indicate player positions in the future.

Balance changes
  • Adjusted the keeper catch mechanics so balls are more likely to be caught instead of punched away
  • Reduced the ball and foul reach for slide tackles
  • Adjusted the ball physics to let it roll a bit less
  • Increased the size of the ball for physics calculations

IOSoccer Update - 5 June 2019


This update is a minor update consisting of bug fixes for the last update, and also a couple of small new features. With regards to the radar, we are looking for feedback on this, and have implemented it for what will be an initial trial period. Please note that it can be turned off easily in the Options menu if you wish.

Changes
  • Added new "point up" celebration (gesture + skill + walk) by Ji
  • Added radar (experimental trial for feedback)
  • Re-added "sweep" hairstyle for white skin
  • Hat now also available on shaved head skins
  • Lowered sv_maxprops default value to 5 from 15

IOSoccer Update - 1 June 2019

Hair! Props! Discord!

This update contains a large volume of change to the player models, listed in full below, including a plethora of new hairstyles, and a hat that goalkeepers can wear to keep cool in the upcoming Summer months. There’s also the introduction of a new “warm-up menu”, which comes packed with an array of new props that can be used in warm-up mode to train with (sv_restart -1 in console to enable warm-up mode). Adding to all that excitement, we now have implemented Discord RPC (Rich Presence) integration, whereby people can follow the scoreline and state of the match you’re playing all from the comfort of Discord.

General enhancements

Added Discord RPC (Rich Presence) integration
Added command to remove a players card when they have been sent off (sv_removeplayercardban)
Added key binding options for:
  • Gaining captaincy
  • Starting timeout
  • Stopping timeout


Warm-up mode

Added warm-up menu for warm-up functionality shortcut keys including prop spawning
Changed prop creation to be enabled by default
Added limit to props per player (mp_maxprops), defaulting to 15 props
Added physics-enabled props
Added new props: single dummy, dummy wall, speedbar, hurdle, barrel, new cones, and stand alone goal prop

Player model enhancements

Fixed rendering of existing hairstyles
Added "arrow" celebration (by Whatniesta)
Added "cross" celebration (by Whatniesta)
Added captains armband to model, displayed when player is captain
Added wristbands for donators (oh hai!)
Added cap for goalkeepers (model by JuanmiJuan, texture by Rawix)
Added afro hairstyle for black & white skins (by JuanmiJuan)
Added spiky fade hairstyle for white skin (by JuanmiJuan)
Added bleached mohawk hairstyle for all skins
