Update 1.2 Notes

Fixed issue where alpha setting was not being applied to imported materials

Added option to disable transparency on material on import

For the next update I will be working on some optimizations to help it run better on lower systems and allow more arms to run on higher systems.

Greetings! Big update incoming....I apologize for making you all wait so long for this update, but I made a lot of fixes and updates:


Fixed issue where selecting nearest imported model when none in scene resulted in nullref error

Added support for importing Blend, X3D, DAE, GLTF, PLY files

Added lighting control pendant menu

Fixed issue where UI FX would play if disabled in menu

Added ability to scale selected object using both controller grips

Enabled ability to pick up any prop object

Added ability to scale robots, positioners, props, frames, risers, etc

Fixed issue where large KOKA robot wouldn’t spawn

Fixed index out of bounds error when selecting Delta robot

Added ability to browse all logical drives

Fixed broken vertical scroll in directory browser

Fixed object details panel not showing on hover

Added ability to only select robot tool (when end effector inside other object) or waypoint only

Prevent tool menu opening while main menu open at same time

Hide wand indicators when main menu opened

Added new scenes for model displaying

Add tool for measuring relative to wand and point to point

Removed blue arrow for selected imported model. The last model you touch or point at will be the selected one.

Made placement mode persist between object spawning (default on startup is Grid Snapping On)

Fixed issue where being inside object collider prevented interaction with pendant menu

Added option to set pointer angle

Added better labels for wand indicators

Added killZ function to catch physics props that fall through floor if placed below floor

Fixed issue where turning indicator did not show in teleport modes

Reset size of conveyor snapping socket collider back to original size


I added alot more functionality around model importing, you can now rotate, position and scale objects with the wand grips. Please be advised that STP file importing is still being worked on. I will be updating with some better training tools and trying to consolidate and simplify some of the menus, they are too complicated in some places. I also added some new display scenes to try out in case you want to showcase anything, and I will be upgrading some of the original scenes with something a bit less basic-looking.

Update Notes 1.0.8 Model Importing Update

Hello my fellow Robotics enthusiasts!

I am pleased to announce that custom model importing functionality is now live! This particular feature has been a dream of mine for some time. You can now import models as scene props and workpieces. Robot tooling is still being worked on. There is a training screen in the World Building room to the right as you walk in that describes the different features of model importing. Basically make sure to place your origin in a good location on the model, set the scale properly and set the rotation to use Z as the up axis.

Other issues addressed:


Added ability to import custom models (STL, OBJ, 3DS, DXF, FBX)

Added better indicators for movement on left controller

Added EURO pallet

Added 4 new static AGV models (AGV programming is coming up)

Hide RUN indicator on right controller unless it can be used (valid robot program)

Added ABB 260 WIP arm

Fixed issue with Home icon not appearing on file browser

Fixed issue where picked up objects could get stuck to controller

Fixed issue where you could not select an object while the pendant was open

Fixed controller not highlighting on touching workpiece

Fixed issue where waypoint line would not update when homing individual axis

Added ability to reset prebuilt scenes from operator terminal and pendant

Fixed baked lighting in scenes generated with Unity v5.6

Expanded conveyor snap detection zone

Fixed right controller mode overlay text not appearing during object placement

Added training screen for Model Importing in World Building room

Fixed issue where WMR devices stopped working after Rift update


The next major feature I will be adding is the ability to export program points in a suitable format for use in other applications. I will also be addressing some of the "clunkiness" and refining the controls a bit more.

Patch Notes 1.0.7 Rift Support Added

Hello robotics enthusiasts!

First of all, let me begin by offering an apology for making all you Rift users wait. I only just received a Rift and have added support for Touch controllers. Please let me know if you have any issues with the Rift control scheme.

Added function to pause all scene objects when main menu opened

Added smooth and snap turning on right controller

Fixed issue where selection laser went through boundary walls

Fixed issue with sprint speed slider not working properly

Added function to see toolbelt in main menu when setting height

Added function to autoload correct picture frame for certain headstock/tailstock positioners

In this update I wanted to address a couple of issues I picked up during testing and added some requested features:


Fixed issue where gripper display items could not be picked up

Reversed global and local button locations on control pendant

Added ability to remember which training screen you were on between sessions

Added function to change lobby spawn position to be center hub after first run

Changed default unmounted material handling speed of universe robots to 1 m/s from 4 m/s

Fixed issue when loading program with attached positioner and flyby points, flyby points would be parented to positioner faceplate and not robot

Fixed issue when saving layout that was created from restoring program with linked positioner, linked positioner ID was incorrect on reload

Fixed issue when changing waypoint type from normal to flyby, waypoint remained parented to positioner faceplate

Added new prop inspection table in world building room

Enforced minimum placement height for fume hood


I have ordered a Rift and will be adding Rift support starting this week. Happy building!
