Folklore Hunter 0.5b

Hey guys, just a quick update to fix a few of the issues reported with the latest update. It also adds a few new quality of life features. Hope you enjoy :)

Changelog
  • Added world coordinates to camera
  • Added compass direction and bearing to minimap
  • Fixed holes in cave
  • Fixed clients spawning their own crates (rather than host) creating 'beyblade' crates
  • Fixed camera view not displaying correct minimap
  • Fixed Strigoi sometimes getting permanently stuck after walking into a trap
  • Fixed proximity check when placing cameras
  • Fixed various instances of Strigoi getting stuck
  • Altered wording of game over story in Night of the Wendigo

Bloodfang Forest - Folklore Hunter Major Update

The time has finally come for the next hunt in the Folklore Hunter series: Bloodfang Forest. The occupants of a small mountainous village have gone missing, find and kill whoever/whatever took them using a plethora of new items and abilities.



I would like to take this time to thank all of you for your patience over these last few months, there have been many challenges thrown my way and feel so lucky to have a community who understands and supports me and the game. This new hunt has been a huge undertaking, and I've taken extra time to align it with my vision of the hunt.



Note: This is only the beginning for Bloodfang Forest, there will be many more content updates to add more story, strategy and content to the hunt (as well as development of the wendigo hunt). I'm hoping to get back into more regular updates now that the bulk of the work has been completed on the new hunt.

There are way too many changes to list here so I've summarized the most noteworthy of the bunch below.
  • BRAND NEW creature
  • BRAND NEW map (4x larger than wendigo map)
  • New "hunter senses" mode for tracking and visualizing audio (Hold Q)
  • New items and tools
  • AI improvements
  • Performance tweaks
  • New music and sound effects
  • Many bugfixes and stability issues solved

Minor Hotfix 0.3b

Patch Notes:
  • Fixed bug that would cause reload animation to play indefinitely if you had less than a full clip in reserve.
  • Fixed strange camera bug when aiming and sprinting at the same time.
  • Your aim state is now remembered during a sprint or reload. Ie, you can hold right-click, reload, and when the reload completes you will be aiming again.
  • Reduced wolf attack damage

Folklore Hunter Update 0.3a

Hey guys!

Been a while since the last update, I've been hard at work as usual. Plenty of new content in this update as well as preparations for new content going forward. The feel of this version of the game is going to be a bit different than previous, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Anyways, hope you are all coping okay during these trying times. Stay safe
Patch Notes:
  • Wolves have been added to the game. They utilize a brand new AI system that allows them to roam the map in small packs. Keep your eye out.
  • Completely remade first-person animations. (Idle, Walk, Sprint, Jump, Shoot. Reload)
  • Added slight weapon sway when aiming.
  • New explorable cave system.
  • Wendigo is now persistent in the world and will no longer despawn at night time.
  • Added new ambient audio that only plays at night time.
  • Added new soundscape for night time.
  • Added the ability to split item stacks.
  • Added Y-Axis inversion to options controls menu.
  • Improved audio specialization of various sounds in the game, including wendigo calls.
  • Fixed clients not being able to access cameras if they were placed by another player who isn't the host.
  • Fixed damage FX being shown to all players, even if they didn't take any damage. (Often happens when someone steps in a bear trap)
  • Added fallback code to help wendigo not get stuck as often.
  • Collision pass on environmental objects.
  • Added help text to inventory screen.
  • Fixed various holes and glitches in map geometry.
  • Altered locations of required items for the end sequence.
  • General codebase restructure in preparation for new content.

Folklore Hunter Update 0.2d

Hey guys!

Small-ish update this time as I wanted to address some critical issues and get this update out quickly. Thanks for all the positive feedback recently, it's great to have such an awesome community being build around the game.

Patch Notes:
  • The game will now pause if you are playing singleplayer.
  • Added brightness & motion blur settings.
  • Settings (video, controls & audio) now save between sessions.
  • Adjusted overall night brightness.
  • Added dynamic cloud system (cloud density changes over time)
  • Fixed runes and symbols being able to be activated without the proper items.
  • Fixed not being able to interact with objects when they are underwater.
  • Fixed player nametags not appearing for some players.
