Zeal hasn't been available on Steam for about a year, and you might be wondering, what was going on?

We were running private playtesting through Discord, and if you've missed them, here are the latest changes:



— Zeal is now a tab targeted game with controls and combat similar to WoW.
— Mastery/Prime customization system replaced with Talent Trees

It has been a while since the last announcement and you might be wondering what's going on.

While there's no ETA for the planned MMORPG features, we'd like to outline an important change to the combat system:
Zeal is now a tab targeted game with controls and combat similar to WoW.

This week is exactly 3 years since we started working on Zeal.

Though this project was never supposed to be a standalone arena simulator, the constant lack of resources we were facing didn't let us do anything else. And even now, when the game is more polished than ever, it's not appealing enough for new players, while old players simply get tired of playing against each other.

The game needs drastic changes, and we're going to make them.

Servers are closing today, and we're starting a big rework. Zeal will be a PvP-focused MMORPG without open world, something between Albion Online, Warframe, and even Escape From Tarkov to some degree.

Don't worry, neither gear nor other grindable bonuses will work in Arena, it will stay as it is.

Note: Zeal is currently not available on Steam, but it will return closer to the release.

Due to the challenges we have faced and other obstacles approaching such as the release of Classic WoW, we have decided to postpone Zeal Alpha Phase to late September.
The exact date will be announced later, but currently we are looking at the 25th of September.
The Zeal Alpha itself will be available on Steam and Discord for a fixed price of $10.
More information about this will be posted closer to the release.

Meanwhile, our planned Patreon campaign is nerfed and won’t be used as the main monetization method. Instead, we’ll have $20, $35 and $50 tiers with unique cosmetic rewards for the biggest zealots.

Also, subscribing to the $20 tier will give you access to the current dev builds of Zeal starting from the 25th of August, a month before the release!

We are aware you guys cannot wait to play, but we are not able to compete with initial Classic WoW hype (even though it has no arena), so we would rather take this time to improve the game even further for now. On the other hand, our 2D/3D Artists are working on creating better visuals for the game that we might tease you guys with soon.
