[New build - EXPERIMENTAL] 22w45a: Sensor, Shipyard & Hotfixes

Some improvements on the sensors and shipyard side, with a bunch of lot of long overdue fixes.

The game can load once more older .mps blueprint.

Volumetric and Laser Sensor Improvement:
  • Bounds detection fixed
  • Can detect entities
  • Can detect items
  • Compatible with the event gate: can trigger for either Player / Entity, and for a given number / distance
  • Have an update frequency setting.
  • Can detect outside of entity bound.
  • Use the latest physics and tech stack, so performance impact will be minimal.


Shipyard Improvements:
  • Can rename Shipyard
  • Failed request explain reason
  • Can cancel request from the menu
  • Various issues fixed


Community Suggestion:
  • #4818 Addon brick will default to the local building mode
  • More brick can be renamed (Rotor, hinge and shipyard)

[New build - DEFAULT] 22w44c: Command Material, Hotfixes

It is now possible to apply a different material to some brick like seats, screen and commands.
This feature will be extended to other brick.

[New build - DEFAULT] 22w44b: Music!

Some music have been added to the game!
Shoot-out and great thanks to the composer Mike Manning.
The tracks are for now calm and meditative to fit with the slow paced nature of the game.
They are minimalist and easy to listen, but also very warm and soulful.
Hopefully they grow on you like they have been growing on me (OST was waiting to be added for some time)!

More tracks will be added in the future, typically for combat.

Right now on top of new Title music we have three set of ambiances:
  • Space Calm: near station and inside planetary rings. Meditative and melancholic soundtrack
  • Atmosphere: Calm: on habitat (and soon on planets): A bit more uplifting and warm.
  • Deep space: drony ambient sound. Not really music!

Crafting Devlog!

As the latest experimental build additions relative to crafting and inventory are now merged in the default build of the game, you can check the content in the devlog below.

These update where a big step toward survival with the addition of crafting into the game. I also added a full blown inventory system with conveyor tubes and pull/push logic, some flexi-hose and made plenty of UI additions.

[New build - DEFAULT] 22w44a: Crafting lands in the Default build

Crafting now hits default! Check out previous posts to see the content of the previous experimental updates.

Brick can now be dropped.
Brick stored inside cargo will take less space.
Some improvement have been made to the physics of dropped object like brick and components.
The legacy fuel scoop has been replaced by an updated design, in line with the Collector.

Bugfixes:
#4970 Fuel Scoop is no longer harvesting
#4969 Furnace wrong capacity computation after ingot crafting
#4966 Cannot place tank join on Lightcruise engines and Reactors.
#4971 Various fuel issues
Heavy Mining lag fixed.
