Another day, another build!
Again more hotfixes are coming your way.
Turret have also been improved with a smaller memory footprint and a way to debug the collision map baked.

New Features:

Select the secondary turret rotator with the link to to display the turret allowed targeting position.

Patch Notes: 21w04a, Hotfixes

This is a much needed Hotfix build following the big refactoring of the previous build. As it was a deep change we had quite a few issues to fix, thanks to all the test who reported issues on the github!

Patch 21w04a is available in Experimental.

Patch Notes: 21w03c, CPU Performance

The performance on the CPU side have been improved with some tasks being now multi-threaded and using Unity new Burst code compiling technology.
This build also introduces a much requested change allowing more freedom on the locomotion selection side.

This is the first of several steps that will greatly improve the game performance on the CPU side.
This is a critical step to allow gameplay: spawning many NPCs and having large space battles are very CPU intensive.

Changes
  • The player can now select 6dof mode in a gravity environment. (#3255 #3251 #3430)
  • The player can now stay on anti-g mode in a 0g environment.

  • #3493 Switch flat placement is sometime wrongly invalid.

Patch Notes: Holomap System Map

The latest experimental build introduce a key component to gameplay, the System view of the holomap.
Here you can view planets, stations and spaceship belonging to the system you are currently located in.

Two viewing mode can be activated:
  • Map: planets are ordained and station are visible.
  • Orrery: planets are shown at their real position. Stations and spaceship are visible.


Some tweak have been made to the planetary system generation: you will have to migrate any entity built on the space habitat as it will spawn in a different place.

Another big change is the update of the Unity version the game is using.
To allow this the netcode solution had to be migrated too.
It wont change much for now apart from minor performance improvements. But it means that I will now be able to make some progress on the netcode side!

Patch Notes: More Planet Variety!

This build introduces more planets type.
There is now Ice, lava, gas, sand, thunderstorm, terrestrial, moon-like and oceanic planets, each in several forms.
These are simple placeholder for now while waiting for a full fledged procedural planetary tech.

  • Raycast length issue on Space Habitat terrain.
