Bug squashing adventure: Episode two

Let's kick off this week of bug fixes with three more serious bugs and three smaller ones.

We have:

- Fixed an error that can occur when switching between boards with markers (this probably fixes some bookmark name issues too)
- Fixed a case where water and fog settings were getting mixed up
- Fixed status emotes (like knockdown) not persisting for unique creatures
- Fixed how bubble tails were not being cleared up if the talking creature was deleted while the chat bubble was visible.
- Fix bubble tails not updating their screen position if the creature who was talking was deleted
- Decrease the scroll speed of the music drop-down lists, so it doesn't skip over tracks

Bug squashing adventure: Patch one

Hey folks, this patch brings an assortment of fixes to bugs that have plagued us for far too long.

In no particular order, we have:

  • A fix for the bug where hide-volumes that are created in empty zones were not saved
  • A fix for a case where board deserialization taking multiple frames could result in a crash
  • Fixed the scroll direction of the slider on the atmosphere panel
  • Stopped sending send chat messages if they have a length of zero
  • Started disabling all animators on asset load. This stops doors opening when being placed and props from animating when turned into creatures.
  • Fixed a bug in hide-volumes where deleting volumes and switching boards could result in exceptions that stopped all hide volume UI from working
  • A tweak so that sampling assets from the board now updates the highlighted category button in the UI


We hope to squash a bunch more bugs over the next week.

Photon connectivity patch 2

This is the second in a series of patches related to recent connectivity issues.

We use a third-party service called Photon for our real-time traffic, and it has been under attack recently. This patch allows us to temporarily avoid certain Photon server regions when they have issues.

This change is a short-term workaround, but we will continue to work on this problem and ship more fixes over the next week.

We have pushed the first patch to begin working around the Photon issues.

This will be available to you on Steam shortly.

It has been 6 hours since the last reported outage on https://www.photonengine.com/status, so we are tentatively assuming that we are out of the woods for now.
