Towards v1.21.0: Simplifying to Better Captivate

Hey everyone!
The next update is moving forward by leaps and bounds, and I've already started working on other small things!
The Studio Director
It's been months that I've been telling you about it, and if you're on the unstable branch of Steam, you've been able to test it and see that it's working pretty well.
Does the studio director make City Game Studio an idle game? Far from it. But does it make it a full-fledged tycoon? Certainly!

Moreover, in the latest version, release candidate 8, I added a tutorial to the studio director. I think this concludes the current version of the studio director.
Afterwards, once v1.21.0 is published to the general public, I'll review your feedback to know how to improve this feature. Then I'll move on to v1.22.0, which will be dedicated to studio furnishing!
The Interface
With v1.20.0, I reduced the number of panels in City Game Studio, in order to make the interface more pleasing to the eye and less cluttered. This seems to have worked, but there's a small problem. Some information has disappeared, and I've barely started reintroducing it. I'm doing this gradually, to have a coherent and intuitive interface.

For example, in v1.21.0, a button is present at the bottom left, next to the studio names, which allows you to sell studios, but also to buy them, if you rent them, to destroy or rename them. I'm happy with this result, but an important piece of information is still missing: the summary of your company. This summary includes important information such as the total number of employees, the number of games produced, or the best game of your company.

Nevertheless, I think I have time to reintroduce this information before the publication of v1.21.0. However, I will surely not have time to introduce anything else for this version.
I want to dedicate a few days to creating a new trailer to celebrate the release of v1.21.0. Rest assured, v1.22.0 will continue to reintroduce important things, such as the reduction of console manufacturing costs based on the number of units sold.

There you go, thank you for reading me.
If you have ideas for the next trailer, don't hesitate, I'm all ears.
Meanwhile, see you next week.

The Next Update Arrives in December!

Here is the English version, staying as close as possible to the original text:

Hey everyone!

The end-of-year holidays are fast approaching, and with them comes a slew of festivals and Steam sales. In fact, I had to move up the date of the next update, which will now be available by December 8th, 2024!

Now, I have to confess something to you. Usually, I publish an update when it's ready. That way, I can be sure it's complete and substantial, without having to rush. But for this upcoming update, which is already quite substantial, I'm going to have to work harder than usual to get it done on time.
Let's talk about the Studio Director.
This week, I've made great progress again. And in my eyes, the Studio Director is already fulfilling its role perfectly. It can now automatically create games, and you can give it directives to manage the game size, target audience, console types, genre, and more. But it can also handle announcing games, generating game reports, and even updating games. We're talking about near-complete automation of City Game Studio here. And this automation makes the game, in the eyes of some purists, a true tycoon game.

There are still a few things I need to sort out, the first being a tutorial to guide you through configuring the Studio Director. After that, there should just be a few bugs to fix, and then we'll be ready to publish the update.

Obviously, if I have time to sneak in an extra feature, I'll do it. I'm thinking about revamping the studio selection panel, which is a bit dated, or adding the ability to do more microtransactions with each game update.

Anyway, I have plenty of ideas to make City Game Studio the best business management game on the market. But everything won't fit in this update, so I'll have to be selective.

Feel free to share your suggestions here, on Steam, or on Discord. As always, I'm listening!

Take care,

Meet Fortune Avenue!

Hey folks !

While guiding you through the world of game development with City Game Studio, I’m coming with something new: Fortune Avenue! Imagine Monopoly with a twist (and maybe a helicopter). I poured the same dedication into crafting a board game experience that’s both familiar and wildly unpredictable.

This isn’t just another stroll down Boardwalk; think evolving rules, melting ice floes, and airports that can catapult you across the board! I wanted to create a game where each session brings something fresh, challenging you to adapt your strategy with every dice roll. And yes, I even threw in some anti-cheat measures to keep things fair for all you fiercely competitive types.

So, if you’re ready to take a break from managing your studio empire, I’d love for you to check out the Fortune Avenue demo. I’m still a one-person team, which means your feedback is invaluable. Together, let’s see if we can make Fortune Avenue as beloved as City Game Studio.

Grab a friend (or a rival), roll the dice, and let the chaos begin! 🎲

Take care
