Development Preview #1 | 11/05/22

Welcome back we've got some news for you!

We're going to start experimenting with expanding on our Discord "Dev Previews" by bringing them here on Steam, and ramping them up to the maximum! We'll try to keep these semi-regular and post whenever we have content to show off!

Hopefully, these posts will help break up the larger gaps between content, and let you know what we're up to, as well as keeping you excited for what's to come.

Any information and images are Work In Progress (WIP) and may change drastically before releasing



0.6.2 is just around the corner, and a new ghost has been noted down in our Journals, but some of the information is ruined, what can you make out?






Some of your keen eyes found our sneaky UV teaser left behind by Patient 07, so we thought it was about time to show you that Asylum's "rework" is quite a bit bigger than just removing a few rooms! And it's coming soon...

We're completely rebuilding Asylum from the ground up, making it slightly smaller, with much more diversity and several different themes to help break up the map's visual design.

'Sunny Meadows Mental Institution' is a large facility featuring its' own Yard area, Kitchen, Hospital wing, Morgue and other more experimental areas locked off to only the highest-ranking members of staff.

There's plenty still left to be done but we'll be sharing some more information in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled....



As part of our new main menu board, every ghost hunter will have their very own ID card!




Certain roles within the community will receive variations of this ID card, so identifying them in public lobbies will be much easier!

In the future, this also allows us to add ID Card customisation for everyone, linked to the Prestige system (coming with the Progression Update)

Your ID's "Title" will then change depending on your role badge, or your prestige (you'll be able to choose which one to display), here's what we currently have planned:

VR Overhaul | Hotfix v0.6.1.7

  • Fingerprints on some Maple Lodge Campsite objects will now be the correct size
  • Ghosts will no longer get stuck outside of medium tents, when trying to kill a player
  • House candles will now work correctly
  • Ghosts will no longer get stuck in the wrong animation during events and hunts
  • Tent windows now have the correct textures
  • Held candles and lighters will no longer blow out if the host walked outside in heavy rain
  • Playing without VR with SteamVR installed will no longer auto close the game after the SteamVR inactivity timer (default 10 minutes)

VR Overhaul | Hotfix v0.6.1.6

  • Candle and lighter flames will now render on top of all objects
  • Sink water splashes ripples will now render on top of sink water
  • Dirty water will now render its murky texture correctly
  • Your sprint stamina will now drain correctly on the main menu

VR Overhaul | Hotfix v0.6.1.5

  • Further improved water / dirty water effects to increase distinction between the two
  • Really removed the eggs in Bleasdale and Grafton this time...
  • The Greek font has been changed to be more readable. An update soon will fix the multiple font issues on most languages


  • The flame shader will no longer render after some opaque geometry
  • You can no longer pull small tent doors a long way
  • Tent doors now rotate with your hand in VR
  • Improved tarot card and maple basketballs held position in VR
  • Throwing a tarot card no longer floats away when thrown mid animation in VR
  • Opening the Journal whilst sprinting no longer drains stamina
  • The ghost will now open closet doors if you are hiding behind them but not inside the closet
  • The voice recognition test will now work in all languages

VR Overhaul | Hotfix v0.6.1.4

  • Added a cooler box hiding spot outside the cabin
  • Ghosts can now leave fingerprints on locker doors


  • Removed the Easter egg hunt
  • Optimised several Maple Lodge Campsite textures to lower RAM usage
  • Adjusted the Tanglewood basement hiding spot to help it be more consistent
  • The VR voice toggle button is now on the right controller (The controls screen will be updated in the next patch)
  • Grabbing the journal and walkie talkie in VR is now much easier in VR
  • Optimized the mesh that fingerprints use
  • Small tent doors are now easier to grab in VR


  • Cornhole boards in Maple Lodge Campsite will now render correctly from a distance
  • You can now grab the wooden doors in Prison in VR
  • The candle flame will now render correctly
  • Fixed inconsistencies in the journal UI
  • Removed the visual artefact on the fairy light posts
  • Dirty water will no longer be overly dark
  • The keyboard in Willow will now have the correct texture
  • Video options’ text will no longer clip in the main menu; when using languages other than English
  • Other VR players can no longer hover items of your belt which caused your belt highlight to activate
  • The VR UI indicator for Prison cell doors will now line up with your hand
