Behind the Banner: Fort Sterling

We interrupt our usual programming with a special edition of Behind the Banner. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be shining the spotlight on Discord communities that organize Faction Warfare content across each server. If you’re looking for a more organized way to take part, or want to try your hand at shotcalling, read on to get to know these communities and join them on Discord.

We begin with Fort Sterling. A Faction forged in the harshest winters and adverse conditions, these polar bears are masters of survival and resilience. Take a look:
FSO (Albion Americas)
Discord: discord.gg/FSO

How long has your Discord been active?

We’ve been active for three years.

What does your community have to offer?

At FSO, our primary aim is to introduce players to ZvZ fights through the Faction Warfare playground. This includes help with builds, general guides, quality shotcallers, and support from both the community and staff members. Additionally, we aim to assist players who want to step up and become shotcallers themselves.

Why did you choose Fort Sterling?

The community was originally formed by members of the previous Fort Sterling Faction Discord. They recruited from their guildmates in the Outlands, who were also bound to the Fort Sterling portal. On a personal note, I enjoy colder weather, and that preference carries over into many of my ingame choices.

Do you offer yellow or red zone Faction Warfare content?

We offer a mix of both. Yellow zone content is mainly used for shotcallers in training to practice ZvZ, while red zone content includes a wider variety of activities such as Fame farming, camp clearing, and fighting in Bandit Assaults and Fortress Sieges.

Do you have a message for the other factions out there?

The recent updates have brought new life to FSO specifically, and I truly hope they have the same effect on other Factions as well. We wish you the best of luck, and hope to see you on the battlefield.
FSO (Albion Europe)
Discord: discord.gg/dgAxNhuFcM

How long has your Discord been active?

We’ve been active since the launch of Albion Europe.

What does your community have to offer?

We offer ZvZ and Outpost capping in both red and yellow zones, with a strong focus on Bandit Assaults.

Why did you choose Fort Sterling?

We are the sister server of FSO in Albion Americas, so Fort Sterling was always the natural choice. Since Fort Sterling is also one of the weaker Factions on Albion Europe, we decided not to switch.

Do you offer yellow or red zone Faction Warfare content?

We offer both. Our goal has always been to offer content for everyone.

Do you have a message for the other factions out there?

Let’s keep Faction Warfare active and fun. Good fights to everyone!
FSO (Albion Asia)
Discord: discord.gg/CPzcrJhUKZ

How long has your Discord been active?

We’ve been active since October 2021, when the server was founded as an Asian branch of the main FSO server. As co-owner, SojiMotive took responsibility for keeping the community thriving, while Callypsa, the owner, worked with the moderator team to lead the Faction Warfare community on Albion Asia, producing content day and night. Without their dedication, the community would not have reached its current success, now standing at 6,287 members from across the Albion Online community.

What does your community have to offer?

The community offers a wide range of Faction content, including both PvP and PvE-focused activities. We are mainly active between 06:00 and 18:00 UTC, depending on the availability of our content shotcallers.

Why did you choose Fort Sterling?

I chose Fort Sterling because it symbolizes bravery compared to the other Factions. It thrives through winter and has the mighty Elite Winter Bear as its mount, giving its players a strong defensive presence against rival Factions. I have no doubts or regrets about choosing Fort Sterling as my home since my first day in Albion Online.

Do you offer yellow or red zone Faction Warfare content?

Yes, we offer both yellow and red zone content. This includes arranged fights with rival Factions, small-scale fights in red zones, and much more following the Realm Divided update. The scene has been thriving thanks to Siege content and the ability to engage in more exciting PvP action.

Do you have a message for the other factions out there?

Winter is coming, and so are we. Fort Sterling on top!

Stay tuned for more in this series, as we meet the other Faction communities on each server!

Watch the Guild Season Finale Live

Season 30 has been a wild ride – not just because of the carnage on the battlefield, but because of the sheer amount of drama playing out across every server. This weekend’s final Invasion Day brings the season to a close, and there’s a lot still to be settled.

Here’s where things stand in the Outlands as we head into the final Invasion Day:
 • Albion Europe: As one war finishes, the next is already brewing. Throughout the season, Albion Europe has had conflicts raging constantly across different areas of the Outlands, but the battle for first place looks to be over, with the WALKR coalition defeating their opponents who’d sought to knock Contingent off the top. With battleboards like we’ve never seen, and dramatic betrayals with guilds flipping sides, Season 30 will undoubtedly mark a memorable chapter in the annals of Albion Europe. For now, Contingent appears on course to take the crown as we head into the final Invasion Day, with Skoggangr in second and Heralds of Valhalla in third. Will the coalition stand firm as we move into Season 31? That remains to be seen...
 • Albion Americas: Much like Albion Europe, a massive coalition war has ended here. PIVAS, who were in the lead for most of the season’s first half, is now in second place, as Evil Kool Aid and their coalition successfully waged war and denied PIVAS a third gem in their crown. With beef between the two still cooking, PIVAS isn't down and out just yet, however, and we know that anything can happen when it comes to the final Invasion Day. Will there be a dramatic comeback? Will PIVAS manage to keep hold of second place? This explosive season of content on Albion Americas comes to a close this weekend, and we’ll see what lies ahead for Season 31.
 • Albion Asia: Summers of the HOT alliance declared their intention to take top rank before the season began, and that has come to fruition. That doesn't mean there’s been any lack of fighting, though, with All Rise battling against all odds to hang onto their zones and set up a potential final stand against a mega coalition. Will we see a potential shake-up once again as we head into the off-season? This seems to be the time where we could see an uprising to bring down the empire…

Season 31 Is Coming: The Battle Begins January 31

Season 30 has seen its fair share of strained alliances and dramatic departures, and those tensions won’t disappear when the season ends. Season 31 begins on January 31, arriving in a landscape shaped by unresolved conflicts and opportunities to claim a spot at the top.

Start times by region are as follows:
 • Albion Asia: January 31, 00:00 UTC
 • Albion Americas and Albion Europe: January 31, 11:00 UTC
Ready your comps and take on the Conqueror’s Challenge to earn exclusive Avatar Sets, unlock Legacy Avatars from previous seasons, and claim loot-filled chests and Fame buffs along the way.
Season Changes
Season 31 introduces a focused set of adjustments to Might and Season Point generation, aimed at smoothing progression and better balancing rewards across the season. The 2v2 and 5v5 Hellgates categories have been merged into a single Hellgates category, while Might requirements have been adjusted for the Corrupted Dungeons, the Depths,  Hellgates, Hideout Power Cores, Castles and Castle Outposts, and Smugglers categories.

Energy Storage payouts will now occur at two key moments in the season, reshaping the pace of competition. Stored Energy will be paid out in full during the mid-season Invasion Day, giving guilds the opportunity to bank an important sum of Season Points at the halfway mark. Just like the final payout, all Stored Energy will be handed to the first guild that conquers a territory after invaders spawn.
Season Schedule Highlights
• January 31: Season start and Invasion Day
 • February 28: Mid-season Invasion Day, double scoring begins, storage payout
 • March 28: Final Invasion Day, storage payout
 • March 30: Season ends

Ambassador Spotlight: ChipzClegane

AlbionTV continues the interview series introducing the Realm Divided AOCP Ambassadors. ChipzClegane is known for his deep involvement in ZvZ warfare and analytical breakdowns of Albion’s most complex systems. Join us on twitch.tv/albiononline this Friday, January 16 at 20:00 UTC for a live interview, and get to know one of the leading voices breaking down Albion’s politics.
ChipzClegane
At his core, ChipzClegane is a strategist. His content revolves around large-scale ZvZ battles, alliance dynamics, and the decisions that shape Albion’s political landscape. Wars for control of the Outlands are what drive him, along with the long-term consequences that follow victory or defeat. With multiple war wins and top placements to his name, Chipz approaches competition with a leader’s perspective, always looking beyond individual fights to the wider state of the game.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
That focus on understanding why things happen defines his content. Chipz is known for slowing the game down and breaking it apart piece by piece. Some days, that means walking viewers through spreadsheets to explain optimal brawl compositions. Others, it’s detailed VOD reviews, or careful analysis of statements made by guild leaders, unpacking what a lost war or a disbanded alliance really means for the Guild Season. His streams aren’t just about watching battles unfold, but about learning how they’re won, lost, and remembered.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Beyond analysis, Chipz is also a dedicated community organizer. He’s the creator behind ChampionChipz, a competitive community tournament that quickly gained recognition. The event brought players together in a structured, high-level environment and showcased his commitment to fostering organized competition. Its success left many in the community eager for its return, stronger and more ambitious than before.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
As an Ambassador, Chipz brings all of this together. He sees the role as being a steady point of reference for the Portuguese-speaking community: someone who helps players navigate change, understand evolving systems, and make sense of the game’s most demanding content. As Albion evolves, Chipz focuses on breaking information down, sharing verified details, and helping players understand what’s happening and why. To him, being an Ambassador means being present, reliable, and worthy of trust.

MMORPG.com Names Albion Online Best Indie MMO of 2025!

Another incredible year has come to a close, and what a way to end it! We’re incredibly proud to share that Albion Online has been named Best Indie MMO of 2025 by MMORPG.com, marking the third year in a row the game has received this award.

In announcing the accolade, MMORPG.com highlighted one of the core pillars behind Albion Online’s long-term success: continuous evolution driven by player feedback. As their resident Albion expert, Nick Shively, puts it:
One of the great things about Albion is how the team really listens to the players and tries to incorporate the areas that are lacking into their large quarterly updates. This allows the game to slowly evolve over time instead of waiting on a new expansion every two to three years. Regardless of how you play, eventually one of these updates will affect how you like to play and bring about new rewards.

That philosophy shaped a busy and transformative year for the game. Across multiple major updates, the sandbox continued to grow and adapt. The Realm Divided update delivered sweeping changes to Faction Warfare, while Abyssal Depths and Rogue Frontier focused on helping players find their footing and explore the systems the game has to offer. Albion Online’s third consecutive Best Indie MMO award is a powerful vote of confidence in both the game and the team behind it.

A huge thank you goes to the staff at MMORPG.com for their continued recognition, and to you, our community. Your passion, feedback, and commitment allow Albion Online to keep improving year after year. We remain firm in our promise to continuously evolve, and we can't wait to share our plans for this year with you very soon!
