Dev Talk: Faction Objectives and Provinces

Realm Divided launches November 24, revamping Faction Warfare in Albion Online for a new era. When he wasn’t busy posting his build, Game Director Moritz Bokelmann took a moment with Environment Artist Johannes Geier to take a closer look at the Province system, new transport options to the frontlines, and some of the content you can find there.
Conflict Zones
Realm Divided restructures Faction Warfare on the Royal Continent.
  • This aims to make faction PvP ever-present
  • Currently, faction forces often march past each other searching for content
  • The new system focuses the action into active warzones
  • Valuable objectives in these areas give players rewards to fight over

The Faction Warfare wordmap overlay shows the current state of the war.
  • This shows which Provinces belong to which faction, and which are currently contested
  • Zoomed in, you see individual regions as before
  • Zoomed out, you get a strategic picture of Provinces and frontlines
    • Provinces under attack are marked with red sword icons
    • Red arrows show the direction of attack
Faction Transports
Faction Transports address the problem of long travel times to the frontlines.
  • These can be found near the Faction Commander in every Royal City, and in Fortresses controlled by your faction
  • You can travel from these directly to conflict zones where your faction is active
    • You cannot travel into red zones, but you can travel up to their entrances
  • You can also travel directly to open parties who are involved in the fighting
  • Faction Transports cost a small Silver fee to use
Faction Camps and Chests
Faction Camps and Faction Chests are new activities found in active conflict zones. They serve as natural focal points in a conflict zone, where players can encounter both allies and enemies.
  • Faction Camps are supply camps that have been overrun by bandits
  • They exist in two types: solo and small-group
  • By clearing out the bandits from the camp, your faction can unlock a Faction Chest
    • When this chest is opened, all nearby players from that faction can share the loot
  • However, other factions can claim the loot themselves if they reach the chest in time
  • Faction Chests can also appear independently of camps

These objectives provide constant, dynamic skirmishes within conflict zones. Each camp cleared and chest opened brings your faction closer to victory, giving them an impact on the broader struggle.

Our next Dev Talk goes a step further in the faction conflict, looking at massive fortress sieges and how Provinces change hands and reshape the map. Stay tuned.

New Vanity Joins the Twitch Noble Drops Lineup

If you’re planning to go trick-or-treating across Albion, you’ll need the right gear, and what could be more festive than a cursed pumpkin? The latest Noble Drops additions are a trio of glowing jack-o’-lantern off-hands, ready to illuminate your adventures.

Scholars aren’t sure what kind of magic gave them sentience, but the results speak for themselves: the Snack-O’-Lantern can’t stop devouring its own candy stash, the Burp-O’-Lantern clearly should have paced itself, and the Grump-O’-Lantern looks personally offended by everything around it. Their personalities may differ, but each shines with a flickering warmth that proves even cursed pumpkins can light the way.
How to Get Noble Drops
Noble Community Chests are special Twitch drops available only on streams hosted by members of the Albion Online Creators Program. These chests include all the regular Community Chest rewards, plus exclusive extras:
  • Unique, regularly updated vanity items. Currently available: Buttercup Direboar skin, Snack-O’-Lantern, Burp-O’-Lantern, Grump-O’-Lantern
  • Noble Community Tokens, which can be exchanged for the cosmetics listed above or salvaged into regular Community Tokens

To claim them:
  • Connect your Twitch and Albion Online accounts at albiononline.com/twitch
  • Watch any AOCP streamer with drops enabled
  • Claim your chest on Twitch and open it via your ingame mailbox
Noble Drops follow a biweekly schedule – one week active, one week off – and you can earn up to one chest per day.
Allhallows Bonus
To celebrate the season, Noble Drops will stay active throughout the entire three weeks of the Allhallows event, and the new jack-o’-lanterns will have boosted drop rates for that time. Watch your favorite creators and grab your own glowing gourd while the odds are in your favor!

Creator Spotlight: EugenGen

Creator Spotlight is a series where we shine a light on Albion Online’s dedicated Content Creators by sharing their stories, unique perspectives, and favorite moments. Get to know them and, if you’re intrigued, follow their channels for more!
EugenGen
What is the main content you create on Twitch/YouTube?

In a game like Albion, where there’s so much to work for at the endgame, I like to create my own challenges to keep things fresh and exciting. Sharing those struggles and victories with my community adds a whole new layer of engagement and entertainment. I want my journey to feel like part of theirs.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
How and when did you get into creating Albion Online content?

I’ve made many friends while playing Albion and have always challenged myself in the game. Over time, people noticed me in other people’s videos and streams and gave me positive feedback, suggesting that I start my own channel. That encouragement pushed me to take the leap into content creation.

Do you have a favorite video of yours that you think everyone should have seen? Let us know why it's special!

I started content creation as part of a duo, and this video reflects that. We’re now trying to bring back those good old times. Our main focus used to be outnumbered fights, so this clip is us doing our best to recreate that 2022 feeling for our community.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Do you have any new content in the making that you would like to tease?

I’m currently on a mission to earn a Mammoth on each of the three servers, and then give them away for Christmas. Stay tuned!

What advice would you give other players who are considering becoming Albion Online content creators?

Honestly, just enjoy the game and challenge yourself every day. Being a creator isn’t always easy, but if you love the grind and the community, it gets easier over time. The key is to never give up and keep posting content across all platforms (Twitch, YouTube, TikTok). Most importantly, have fun. If you’re doing it for fun, you’ll always have a great time!

Allhallows Descends on Albion

Breaking news: Albion’s most aggressive vegetable has escaped again. Reports confirm that Bob, a notoriously cranky pumpkin with a history of seasonal disturbances, is once more on the loose. Eyewitnesses describe him as “round, orange, and extremely punchable.” Citizens are advised to proceed to the Hallowed Ground dungeon immediately… preferably carrying sharp objects!
Claim Spooky Rewards
The Hallowed Ground can spawn randomly in T4–T8 regions throughout the open world. Look for pumpkin-decorated portals to enter Bob’s lair and face him for a chance to earn eerie rewards. Victorious adventurers may uncover Jack-o’-Donkey and Horse Macabre mount skins, as well as Allhallows Treats that grant a temporary Fame boost for non-PvP activities. But be warned: these treats don’t last forever, so enjoy them before they rot!

Event times:
  • Albion Asia: October 23, 00:00 UTC – November 12, 23:00 UTC
  • Albion Americas and Europe: October 24, 10:00 UTC – November 13, 10:00 UTC
Trick or Twitch
Three new off-hand vanity skins have joined the Noble Twitch Drops lineup: the mischievous jack-o’-lanterns!
  • Snack-O’-Lantern: happily stuffed with snacks
  • Burp-O’-Lantern: a little too full for comfort
  • Grump-O’-Lantern: as moody as Bob himself

To celebrate Allhallows, Noble Drops will be continuously active from October 24, 10:00 UTC to November 14, 9:30 UTC, featuring boosted drop rates for these new lanterns. Watch your favorite AOCP streamers, collect your chests, and let the pumpkins handle the trick while you claim the treats.

Join Our Next Faction Warfare Playtest

Our first public playtest last week for the upcoming Realm Divided update was a great success, with hundreds of players clashing over Fortresses and Provinces and giving the team invaluable insights into how the new features play. We’ll be building on this with an expanded playtest this Friday, October 24 at 15 UTC, and we want you to join!

The first playtest was so popular that players were queuing to join, so this time we’re increasing the server capacity to make sure more people can get involved and give us an even better picture of how large-scale faction fights will play out. And in addition, this time all five royal factions will be involved. Once again, large amounts of Gold will be given away to each factions’ top contributors, and additional Gold codes will be raffled away amongst participants.

For full details, and information on how to join, check out this forum post. See you on Friday!
