Developer Faq #3
Hey Smallfolk! Here's the next instalment of our dev FAQ Friday, keeping you folks in the loop! This week we're covering some QoL features and options!
Q: Will there be modding support? A: Modding support and development is a huge undertaking and all of our mechanics and features are still in development so we can't really work towards that at the moment, however, it is something you folks have expressed a desire for and it is something we really want to consider later down the line.
Q: What, if any, are your plans for accessibility improvements? As a visually impaired person, the inventory UI and general environment design could use some more shape and color contrast! A: It is an ongoing process, we plan on doing a much 'fuller' accessibility pass closer to 1.0 as we know we're missing a few options.
We weren't originally going to add the frequently requested 'arachnophobia mode' - because we asked ourselves 'arachnophobia mode? ''Sure I get that, but what about cockroaches? The mosquitoes? The beetles? They're just as terrifying! Do we need to do all of those as well!?''
But we do, generally, cave to frequently requested features haha.
"Q: Are you planning on adding more seasonal exclusive harvests, creatures and items?
like pretty pink blossoms in spring, fallen leaves and acorn at fall, Snowdrops flower in the winter?" A: Without spoiling any of our upcoming plans, we can say that seasonal events and surprises are absolutely something we are looking to implement. What form these will take, we can't reveal just yet!
Q: "If you guys haven't already, can you make it so more a player can tame more than one bug?
I get too attached to my tames to get rid of them for another." A: We love our tames as well, so this is an area where we are definitely keen to introduce more features and interactions, based on player feedback. We can't give details just yet, but rest assured cool things are coming for our critter pals!
