Creatures Update - Take a look at one of Smalland's mostly deadly predators...
Hi all!
We have another update for you all today! This covers one of the many creatures of Smalland, whilst giving examples how the diverse creatures can effect gameplay and the world around you!

In the world of Smalland, you're either a potential threat to many species of creatures, a source or food or even prey! One of these many creatures includes the deadly apex predator; the Blue Tit. This winged maelstrom of death can swoop down from the heavens and take its prey with very little warning. Preparation will be key to survival, because only preparation can protect or hide you. Can you to reason with it, could you help it, and maybe even solicit an alliance?

If you can befriend and earn their trust, you will be able to take to the skies and soar above the anthills at war, the arachnid dens, and the hives of warmongering wasps. The prey becomes the predator, able to swoop down and besiege the threats you once had to fearfully run from and able to reach the ripe treasures you could only previously access once they had fallen to the ground. Although this exhilarating freedom also comes with a price, new feathered threats roam the skies, hungry and territorial!

Features
  • This is just one of the multiple bird species and sizes
  • The Blue Tit has access to certain resources that will be needed for progression
  • You can choose to take these resources by force, or ally with the creature
  • It's behaviour is affected by seasons, as well as day and night
  • It also has dynamic behaviour based on situational events and surroundings
  • You are able to use this bird as a mount and fly across and around the game world freely

Thanks so much to the community for your continued support - keep an eye out for more news very soon and add the game to your wishlist here for all of the latest Smalland information

Dive into the diverse seasons of Smalland in our new community update!

Hey all!

Thanks so much to the community for the great response to our recent update last month. Everyone across the development team super appreciate all of your comments and it's great to see so many are excited for the game! We're continuing to make some fantastic progress on the development, and excited to give you more insights into the game starting today with Seasons.

To survive in Smalland means to defy nature itself as you brave fierce conditions against all odds. As you explore, the world is ever-changing and dynamic and will effect the way you play. From the warm spring and the beautiful hot Summer, to the cool breeze of the autumn and bitter Winter, you'll have to manage your load outs to adapt to the changing landscape!

This cycle sees changes in creatures behaviour, some hiding, some more desperate for food, moving further from the comfort of their territories to risk death at the hands of another rather than succumb to starvation.

Each Season brings benefits and opportunities which you will need to learn if you are to survive. Exploration is key to take advantage of the cycling resources and effects, but without the right level of preparation, it will be difficult to see the sun dawn on the next day, let alone the next Season!

Stay tuned for more detailed updates from the development team! We'll be discussing lots more features of the game very soon and providing more content for you as we work hard towards release!
Seasons Features
• The four cycling seasons have a dramatic effect on the game world
  • Creatures and resources become more common or hard to find in different areas per season
  • Creature behaviour is dynamic and changes per season
  • Certain creatures and resources only appear in certain conditions
  • The player will have to prepare and manage their load outs for survival per Season!
  • In-game PVE Events are themed around the different seasons
  • Each season has its own set of challenges, some things become easier, others harder, but each is
balanced so no particular season is harder than the other
