The 2020 Performance Update

Greetings Road Musicians,

It's been a long time since the last update, but rest assured there was a lot of work going into this one. We've done some optimizations across the entire game, focusing mainly on areas that had the biggest issues with players. It's still not perfect, but it's a huge improvement over how the game used to run. On top of regular bug fixes and tweaks, we redid a lot of the lighting throughout the game, including how sun rays bleed through environments. Fans of the game will notice a lot of little touches! Read below for a full list of changes since last time. And as always, feel free to join the official Discord and check out the future branch of the game to test out new features before they go live.

Main Game:
- Added performance fixes overall in all regions
- Changed desert_comet to always be visible (when sky fog is off)
- Fixed dynamic/antidynamic levels not loading properly
- Fixed map softlocking when trying to load a level of unknown region
- Fixed user level decoration sometimes being backwards
- Fixed debug hotkeys being available on map screen
- Changed lighting to cast light rays from sun
- Changed night time to cast shadows
- Changed omni time to only cast shadows from one light source
- Fixed spacing of side lane conveyors in Mtn region

- Added center lane version of desert_passS
- Fixed flickering shadows on user levels
- Corrected user Plains levels not animating fields and showing the wrong color light

- Fixed ocean_sail colliding through cliff walls
- Fixed brightness error
- Fixed city_drone animation stopping prematurely
- Fixed map level disappearing when completing Expedition
- Fixed ocean_falls visuals in HWY 704
- Fixed spacebar not working properly on tunnel holds

Editor:
- Fixed being able to quick restart
- Fixed plains_skyBridge being listed as a sky object as well

Other:
- Added lamps to title screen
- Added demo mode. Type "demo" at title screen to enable.

Hmm:
- Fixed a thing no one has discovered yet, so uh...
