Fight or Flight - 0.40.5.9 - Patch notes

This patch focuses mainly on bug fixes, and small QOL changes to improve the overall experience.

Patch notes as follows;
UI; Improved item pickup/interaction UI, This now has 3 differnt options in the "UI" menu settings. Off, Small or Large. Default setting is "Small"
UI; Improved crosshair, also added hit marker cross
UI; Added hotkeys into inventory screen (same as weaponbar)
UI; Add FPS cap for menu, independent of game FPS cap
Animations; Tweaks to 1p crouch so that it looks smoother
Animations; Fixed bug with crouch animation causing a flicker in 1p
AI; Fixed speed of footstep sounds on bots, also have increased the volume slightly
Player; Low health visual effect improved further, now shows effects when low health, as well as heart beat sounds, and shows the effects if bleeding out
Player; You can now switch weapons while in the inventory screen using the hotkeys
Weapons; Improved reload sounds for all Pistols, Revolvers, SMGs, and Assault Rifles
Vehicles; Fixed bug with zombies not getting damaged from vehicles
Vehicles; Improved vehicle FX (WIP placeholders)
Level; Lighting tweaks for all times of day. This is now locked in the singleplayer menu to 3 options Night,Morning and Day. (the best ones!)
Level; The large grey concrete buildings (old office sites) all now have interactable doors on the outsides,
Level; Increased volume of sounds when opening and closing doors, and now wood doors will make differnt sounds to the steel ones
Loot; Increased loot spawns around old office sites
Misc; Fixed bug causing it to rain indoors!!!
Misc; Screen Space Global Illumination quality increased for "high" and "epic" settings (still "experimental" right now)
Misc; There has been a new server added into the match making for the "Oceania" region, this is just a test server right now, but feel free to use it!


Extra notes:
The number one complaint that we have had over the past few months has been about poor loot distribution, I just want you to know, that we hear yah!
There have been a number of small changes to the way the loot works in this patch, which should help a bit.
Over the next few weeks there will be a focus on fixing this issue!

Fight or Flight - 0.40.5.81 - Hotfix

This is a small hotfix to fix a bug that snuck in after the latest patch.
The issue was critical enough to warrant a hot fix, as it was causing major issues for players when exiting vehicles.

A new vehicle has also been added as a surprise! ;-)

Vehicles; Fixed bug with character exit and entry rotation when vehicle is on slopes
Vehicles; New vehicle added!

First off, apologies that this next patch has taken so long to complete, I'm sure this last few months have been challenging for everyone, so thanks to those that have been waiting patiently for the patch!

Going forward things should be much quicker now, and the patch frequency will be back to normal very shortly!

Here is a list of fixes and changes for this patch.

Fight or Flight - 0.40.5.8 - Patch notes
Misc; Max player count increased to 64 players. Max bot amount increased to 60 for single player.
*NOTE*: Having 60 bots, and zombies and monsters will have drastic performance issues on older CPU's. Full bots, and no zombies should be okay on older cpu's...

Player; Increased player base health to 150
Player; Added 3p camera ("c") with freelook "alt", this is an *experiment* to see if the community likes it
Player; Player run speeds tweaked further, player can get 15% faster by holstering their weapon "x", also tweaked strafe speed while sprinting...
Player; Removed the "roll" from the camera bob
Player; Can now consume consumables while walking
Player; Low health visual effect improved
Player; Small changes to cosmetics so that certain hands match top color better
Player; Fixed bug causing Warmup loadout to not get ammo some times
UI; Alive player count added to player minimap for br modes
AI; Fixed bugs causing monsters to enter houses
Loot; Increased amount of armor loot
Loot; Increased amount of G18 and M9 pistols
Level; Lighting re-done for all times of day (my fav is 6:45am! please note this is still WIP)
Misc; Improvements to server memory use, should result in less hitching
Misc; New menu music added!

Fight or Flight - 0.40.5.71 - Hotfix, Bugs and Sounds...

A small hotfix after some feedback from this weeks patch :)


AI; Bot AI shot cool down times tweaked, 90 and 100 skill will range from about 0.25s to 0.5s with some rng
AI; Fixed bug where bot would fire blanks on first shot after switching weapons
Weapons; New sounds for AAR56, RU74, RU105, RU74S (please keep in mind these are all work in progress, good sound takes a lot of time to get right :)

This will be the last patch for the year, thanks for all your feedback, it has helped us make massive improvements already!
I hope that you all get some time over Christmas/New Years to have some matches!

Fight or Flight - 0.40.5.7 - 10/10 Floating wolves!




Hi Guys,


Here is this weeks patch with plenty of fixes to the most commonly reported bugs!
We will be taking some time off from patching over the Christmas period to ensure stable and reliable servers over the break.
During this time we will continue to work on the game, and will also work on a road map which will be released early next year so that players will have some idea of where the game is heading.
This will be a preliminary plan, with room for peoples suggestions and ideas. It will include things such as, an engine upgrade, a complete rewrite of the monster and bot AI, more poi's, more monsters etc...

Patch notes:
AI; Resolved issues with Wolves, Zombies, Spiders and Bears clipping through buildings and floating when in an idle state
AI; Player collisions fixed on Wolves, Zombies, Spiders and Bears
AI; Bear now has a secondary attack (standing up and stomping...) watch out! O_O
AI; Monsters will no longer slow down from hit damage unless hit is very high damage
AI; Aim accuracy added to Bot AI. This is scaled based on Bot Skill...
Player; Fixed bug causing consumables (ie bandages) to stay on screen briefly if consume is aborted
Player; Fixed bug causing consumables to not display animation on some enemy players
Player; Fixed bug causing hip-fire animations to look incorrect
Player; Fixed bug causing weapon to not change back after a failed attempt to consume item
UI; Fixed bug with death messages not displaying icons correctly for certain damage types
Vehicles; Fixed bug when vehicle would sometimes disappear after exiting
Vehicles; Fixed bug where other vehicles would sometimes disappear after exiting a vehicle
Vehicles; Fixed bug where parachute would deploy if you got flung off a vehicle at a high enough speed
Loot; Decreased min bot death loot, and made the results a bit more random
Weapons; New sounds for SKS,SVD,AAR4 (WIP)
Weapons; New reload sounds for various weapons
Matchmake; Fixed occasional crash from match making
Matchmake; Server will now force start a match 3 minutes after the first client connects



Servers are currently running with 8 bots at 50% skill, please let me know if this is too easy!
