Shortest Trip to Earth News

New DLC + game update are live!

[p]The DLC is here! Please check out the steam page:[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]As promised, this DLC provides a new boarding-themed playable warship as a starting option. This giant dreadnought comes loaded with an army of heavy tanks, mechas & battle robots. Using internal combat offensively in the right conditions can be quite rewarding (but still risky!) thanks to the fresh boarding loot feature introduced with the previous game update.[/p][p][/p][p]Our idependent studio Interactive Fate is also fighting for survival so anyone getting the DLC will directly support our noble cause of continued existence and game development. We're grateful if you share the news to anyone who might be interested in streaming their experience of merry desperation & death among the stars with the new ship.[/p][p][/p][p]Main game update changelog (summary)[/p]
  • [p]Overall difficulty rebalance: A lot of ships and modules got buffed slightly, both for the player and the enemies. A few notable changes are described in the following points[/p]
  • [p]Most player ships got various bonuses, including +1% deflection - it's bigger than it sounds x')[/p]
  • [p]Many perks and perk prices were changed as part of the rebalance[/p]
  • [p] Some point-defences where already buffed (some were also buffed with the previous update)[/p]
  • [p] Some enemies now shoot their nukes later, not at the start of the battles (some still do right at the start, as intended)[/p]
  • [p]Numerous prices, starting resources, drones skills and other minor stats were rebalanced.[/p][p][/p]
[p]The new DLC was also added to our Art of Survival bundle[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

Fresh major update is live!

[p][/p][p]Changelog:[/p]
  1. [p]New feature: player gets bonus credits (and sometimes other resources) if enemy ships self-destruct due to losing their crew (the're will be a special notification).[/p]
  2. [p]Fast forward button will be available at all times[/p]
  3. [p]Weapons rebalance: most weapons are faster and better now (leading to slightly faster battles) and some guns consume less resources.[/p]
  4. [p]Pirates & slavers rebalance: less point-defences and weaker shipweapons but more intruders[/p][p]Logic: Pirates and slavers are ambushers, poor and not very stategic. It is logical they worry less about intruders, and therefore use less point-defences. It is also fitting they gang up befoure ambushing and try to rely on high numbers of intruders assaulting their prey.[/p]
  5. [p]Crew rebalance: many crewtypes (especially slavers & pirates) got slightly more HP (it's logical they augment/armor themselves) . Many crew weapon stats were improved and rebalanced.[/p]
  6. [p]Artifact rebalance: most artifacts got increased special bonuses & scrapping value.[/p]
  7. [p]Overall module rebalance: hitpoints & other stats of many modules were increased[/p]
  8. [p]Crew navigation fixed in all remaining cryosleep & garden modules[/p]
  9. [p]Scrapping & storing modules that provide ship HP was already disabled if removing these would destroy the ship, but this did not include loading module presets. With the coming update, loading module presets gets the same safety mechanism (and the AI will give a kind warning not to destroy the ship).[/p]
[p]Next updates coming after this:[/p]
  1. [p]Ingegrity module design overhaul: Integrity modules now provide more ship HP bonus (and sometimes secondary bonuses) making their use a new option in the arsenal of tactical solutions to survival problems.[/p]
[p]New DLC "One Last Run" available very soon![/p][p] [/p][p]The coming DLC provides a boarding-themed assault dreadnought, coming loaded with an army of heavy tanks, mechas & battle robots, making offensive internal combat a viable option in the right conditions. Our idependent studio Interactive Fate is also fighting for survival so anyone getting the DLC will directly support our noble cause (of continued existence and game development). Thank you for having encouraged us to create this :)[/p][p][/p]

We are back!

[p]Hellloo fellow survivors![/p][p]The world has gone crazy but we are back! We can share some Shortest Trip update news soon![/p][p]In the meantime, a short summary of Interactive Fate's journey so far, starting with the release of Shortest Trip to Earth (our debut title) in 2019, after 5+ years of development. [/p][p][/p][p]Before and after Shortest Trip's development, we also created the cute graphics for Circle Empires (released 2018) and Circle Empires Rivals (released 2020). Both are very accessible fast-paced tactical RTS titles by the fellow Estonian gamedev studio Luminous, popular to this day.[/p][p][/p][p]After releasing Shortest Trip, we started work on Artist Life Simulator around 2020. It's a grim yet whimsical survial game featuring art and feelings, partially inspired by (but very different from) the indie title Cultist Simulator. [/p][p]In short, Artist Life Simulator (released in 2022) is a unique, deeply artistic card-based roguelite about surviving as a starving artist in 19th century alternative history - while trying to create a painting that changes the world. [/p][p]Fight with depression, poverty, addiction, madness and 66 other mental states of your artist. 18 different endings, including victories like discovering a new, psychedelic color - or losses, such as death by hunger, poverty, alcoholism, madness and so on. Combine inspirations to paint masterpieces, sell them for riches (or scraps) and leave a legacy of your life.[/p][p][/p][p]If you haven't heard about it before and don't mind struggling for coin, bread and sanity while trying to change the world then consider checking out the game! it's on -70% sale for 3 more days![/p][p]In 2023 we started working on...[/p][p]...our next project Monster Run: Downfall of the Empire (released it in 2024). It's an asymmetric slasher where players can embody a giant firebreathing (and spellcasting) cat, fighting against massive medieval armies of tiny but evil imperial humans. Amongst the mayhem, the player gets destroy large castles and buildings filled with angry soldiers.[/p][p]And now, nearing the end of 2025, Interactive Fate is working on something new again...[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for coming with us this far![/p][p]P.S. all our games (except Monster Run) are also in the Art of Survival bundle - a collectors bundle where you only pay for the games that you don't have yet.[/p][p][/p]
