[Lionfire] Season Unit Spotlight_ Lionroar Crew (T5)

Gustav II Adolf, the innovative genius of artillery tactics. He devoted himself to streamlining the army and optimizing equipment, successfully turning artillery into an independent branch of the military, closely cooperating with infantry, cavalry, and logistics teams to improve tactical execution efficiency.
This artillery unit, composed of local Swedish warriors, was the first independent artillery force in the Western world. Their name, along with Gustav's glorious achievements on the battlefield, together became an eternal memorial.

Unit inspiration

 • During the era of wars, cannons were commonly used by all nations. However, among the military leaders, it was only Gustav II Adolf who saw cannons as the core of revolutionizing warfare in that age. He handpicked the best of his country's officers and formed a dedicated artillery unit. The establishment of an independent artillery unit was an unprecedented initiative. During that time, military commanders of various countries often viewed cannons as cumbersome heavy artillery, which lack mobility. However, the king believed that by modifying the cannons themselves to overcome their mobility issues, cannons would become the decisive weapons of the next era's battlefield. He shortened the cannon barrels, lightened the carriages, and standardized the production of cannon parts. Consequently, that northern nation's artillery units could deploy and move cannons at any time and place. The excellent battlefield judgment and combat determination of artillery officers also made this unit a undefeatable force in Western world of that time.

 • Those who surpass are always blessed by the era. This unit, along with their king, became legends of that era, with their cannon fire described by poets as the "roar of a lion," shaking their enemies.

Season Unit Spotlight_ Swinefeathers (T4)

[Lionfire] Season Unit Spotlight: Swinefeathers (T4)
In the early 17th century, a new era of warfare dawned. Gustav II Adolf of Sweden revolutionized the battlefield with his innovative use of linear infantry tactics. His armies, organized into lines of disciplined musketeers, could unleash a devastating barrage of fire, leaving a profound impact on Europe. By the latter stages of the Thirty Years' War, both the Habsburg Empire and the Electors of the Rhine had adopted similar reforms, forever changing the face of warfare.

Background Story:

 • In the long years of war, if one were to ask which kind of people were most common, the answer would undoubtedly be the mercenaries who traversed between various factions. These seasoned arquebusiers never fought for honor; rather, they viewed chaos as a ladder, aiming to seize fame in the midst of conflict. The northern nation, with its small territory and a population fewer than the Rhineland states, found itself in greater need of their strength to partake in this grand war. Interestingly, these fickle mercenaries ended up staying within the army of the Northern Lion, even becoming the backbone of the military. In their own words: "

"We can smell victory here." Gustav II Adolf devised new tactics for these experienced veterans. Utilizing rapid maneuvers and shooting, their great gunpower can overwhelm enemies many times their number. When cavalry charged like a torrent, they would counter with their swinefeather spears, sending the enemy straight to hell. These veterans, who had brushed shoulders with death countless times, were adept at handling any situation on the battlefield.
"You lads, stick with me! There may be plenty of kings in this world, but there's only one who knows how to fight." — Mercenary leader, Monroe.
Unit Inspiration:
• They are composed of British mercenaries recruited by Sweden, capable of repelling enemies with portable anti-horse stakes and inflicting significant casualties on the enemy using modern volley fire techniques. They maintain strict military discipline, possess exquisite skills, and fully utilize the Gustavian formation's tactic of firing in lines. The portable pigtail gun stock they carry provides significant assistance for their precise shooting. Moreover, when they insert the gun stock into the ground, forming variously shaped anti-horse stakes, the strategic value is self-evident, forcing would-be aggressors to disarm and surrender.
Featured Gameplay:
• Having relatively short attack range but powerful burst damage, strict military discipline, and exquisite skills.

 • Having a gunstock provides higher accuracy, but when the gunstock is inserted into the ground, it generates Cheval de Frise sufficient to deter enemies.
Unit skill:
• Skill 1: Attack Area (continuous shooting into a designated area)

 • Skill 2: Gale Strike (Six column formation instantly transforms into three columns, then opens fire simultaneously, providing powerful firepower suppression to the target area.)

 • Skill 3: Spears & Thorns (insert the butt into the ground within a certain range to form a strong Cheval de Frise)

Note: The final effect is subject to the actual in-game performance after the season launch.

The Conquerors Blade Team

[Lionfire] Season Unit Spotlight: Reitar Pistoleers (T3)

After Gustav II's military reforms, the cavalry of the Northern Kingdom underwent a dramatic transformation compared to the mainstream cavalry on the continent.

At this time, the continental cavalry still followed the traditions of the classical era, dominated by aristocrats, while the cavalry of the Northern Kingdom was entirely composed of mercenaries. This allowed Gustav to put into practice his tactical vision for the cavalry of the new era: "Fire only when you see the whites of the enemy's eyes!"

Unit inspiration
During the Thirty Years' War, a gunpowder revolution was brewing. Knights from the Rhine region shed their heavy armor, retaining only essential protective gear, and abandoned their lances in favor of matchlock muskets. They often employed a tactic known as the "Half-wheel tactics" and relied more on harassing with firearms rather than engaging in direct charges. However, Gustav II Adolphus took a different approach. He ordered the cuirassiers from the Rhine in his army to abandon the half-wheel tactics and cumbersome long muskets. Instead, they used short muskets at extremely close range and then fearlessly charged with their swords.

 • “The lionhearted cuirassiers do not open fire until they see the whites of their enemy's eyes.", a warlord once remarked. He had personally witnessed the cuirassiers firing at extremely close range, then drawing their cavalry swords and ruthlessly cutting down their enemies who mechanically followed the "half-wheel tactics." On the battlefield, those who sought death survived. A century after the fully armored knights had been defeated by gunpowder, this army seemed to have brought back the fearless charge to the battlefield.

Featured Gameplay

 • The cuirassiers, first introduced by Gustav II Adolphus, carried a pair of improved muskets that were not affected by rainy weather. They excelled at close-range shooting against their enemies. This combat method maximized the power of gunpowder, offering high shooting accuracy and destructive force. It was particularly effective in controlling and inflicting damage on heavily armored enemies.

 • After firing at close range, the cuirassiers could charge into enemy lines at extremely high speed, launching swift and fierce attacks until they tore apart the enemy's defenses.

Unit skill
 • Roar of Powder

Firing special gunpowder bullets at their targets, the cuirassiers inflicted significant damage and had a knockdown effect on enemy troops. After both muskets were fired with special gunpowder bullets, they entered a cooldown period during which the cuirassiers could not use their muskets for regular attacks.
 • Tearing Strike

The knightly posture returns to the world! Using their knightly swords, the cuirassiers execute several fierce thrusts at close range.

Note: The final effect is subject to the actual in-game performance after the season launch.
