Super Animal Royale News

We heard all your requests for the "Snep'' on Discord, Reddit, Twitter, Steam, Facebook, ResearchGATE, MySpace, and Friendster, so the Super Snow Leopard has finally arrived as the last breed of the CRISPRmas event and 2019. We tip our super hats to everyone who discovered the Super Snow Leopard ice sculpture in the Penguin Palace in advance of the reveal ;).

However you celebrate the holidays, we hope you’ve had a wonderful December so far with friends and family. We've made a little video on how we celebrate CRISPRmas here in Super Animal World that we think you might enjoy (view on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram).

Alongside the Super Snow Leopard, the final 5 challenges have unlocked for the Super CRISPRmas event, and their rewards are themed for New Years! You'll have until Sunday, January 5th at 11:59pm to unlock all 15 challenge rewards, and all 9 rewards for collecting presents (all 3 weeks of challenges can be completed throughout the event).

Thank you so much again for making this such a memorable first year in Early Access. You really are the most amazing community of gamers we've played with in any game (not just because we're biased) and we can't wait to reveal all the surprises we have in store for 2020! Now that our big Halloween and CRISPRmas events are nearing their end, the team is focusing on our core roadmap to expand game features/mechanics, storytelling, and social features.

Super Gingerbread Bear, Super Moose and Super Rudolph Deer (returning from winter 2018) have joined the fight! Week 2 of Super CRISPRmas is here and also brings with it 5 new challenges to complete.

Open up the CRISPRmas event in the game’s menu to see the new challenges and track your progress. Week 1’s challenges are still available too for the rest of the event if you have any left to complete!

We’ve also upgraded Thomas’s Tundra and made a bunch more improvements this week. Here are your full patch notes:


Week 2 of Super CRISPRmas begins! Complete 5 new challenges and continue your present hunt.

• Present drop rate has been boosted by 10% for the rest of the event!
  
• The Super Rudolph Deer, Super Gingerbread Bear, and the Super Moose are now available to create in the Research Lab.
  
• Ice sliding improvements: you can now skate on the ice with a new animation and increased speed (ice now offers an 18% boost, up from 12% in the previous update)! We’ve also added new sounds for sliding.
  

Tundra Updates

• Lake Slippity’s accommodations have been overhauled with premium new igloo suites.
  
• Le Waddle’s fountain centerpiece (fed by the hot springs below) is now animated with moving water and steam.
  
• Animated fish tanks now adorn the hallways of Super Penguin Palace.
  
• Courtyard improvements including benches and added detailing on the ice.
  
• Number of Loot spawns increased in Penguin Palace.
  

More Gameplay Improvements

• SMG's and Thomas Gun's recoil per shot reduced from 2.0 degrees to 1.9 degrees. Maximum recoil spread is now 12 degrees (was 13).
  
• AK accuracy boost: AK's recoil per shot reduced from 1.5 to 1.4 degrees, initial running recoil lowered to 3.5 from 4 degrees, and maximum recoil lowered to 8 degrees from 10.
  
• M16's initial running recoil lowered to 4.0 degrees from 4.5, and maximum recoil reduced to 7.5 degrees from 9.
  
• Muting & unmuting players will now apply across matches (previously only worked for individual matches).
  
• Several character model fixes including the Tricolor Corgi's tail.
  
• Fixed some ice statues z-order.
  
• Translation fixes.

The Super CRISPRmas event begins today, bringing with it 28 festive cosmetic items. Unlock them before the event ends on January 5th at 11:59pm PST!

• Collect presents around the island to earn 9 limited event cosmetics. They'll also give you 10hp. It's a CRISPRmas miracle!
  
• In addition to collecting presents, you can now also complete 5 weekly challenges per week during the event, for a total of 15 additional limited edition items!
  
• Week 1 of the event begins today with the first 5 challenges, Week 2 arrives on December 19th, and the final New Years themed week kicks off on December 26th. The event's challenges are cumulative, so week 1 and 2's challenges stick around until the end of the event.
  

Super Penguins have arrived in the Research Lab!

Week 1 of the event brings Super Penguins to the Research lab. Super Penguin has six breeds available to research in addition to the base breed:

• Super Adelie Penguin
  
• Super Macaroni Penguin
  
• Super Bubblegum Penguin
  
• Super Blue Penguin
  
• Super Poison Penguin
  

CRISPRmas festivities

• As part of the Super CRISPRmas event, the welcome fountain now has a CRISPRmas tree and festive music, and many trees around the island have been decorated as well.
  
• The Giant Eagle and Delivery Mole have festive outfits for the holidays.
  
• During the CRISPRmas event, last year's festive items have a 25% chance of dropping randomly at the end of a match, if you do not own them. This includes the Festive Sweater, Candy Cane, Santa Hat, and Santa Outfit.
  
• 5 additional winter cosmetics have been added to the regular drop pool (not event exclusive): The Orange Pom Beanie, Blue Striped Scarf, Blue Festive Sweater, Pink Down Jacket, and Wreath Gravestone. Look out for streamer events for giveaways of these items!
  
• More Super Animals Coming Soon: Check back for more surprise winter animals arriving in the Research Lab in week 2 and 3 of the event!
  

Thomas's Tundra has evolved and expanded with new points of interest: you can now slide on Lake Slippity, visit the Super Penguin Palace, dine at Le Waddle, and check out S.A.W. inventions at Thomas's Workshop.



There's a new epic & legendary version of the SMG available now on the island: the Thomas Gun. Epic varieties are available to find in the world, but legendaries only drop from Mole Crates. Pick one up in Super Shooting Gallery to try it out in the lobby!

Note: to fit alongside the new Thomas Gun SMG, the existing SMG now maxes out at Rare (blue) tier.



Thank you so much to all of you for making this year in Early Access so special. We're so proud of what we've built this year, and so much of it has been inspired by you in our community. We can't wait to expand the game even more in 2020 as we march towards full release!

• As a celebration of our one year anniversary in Early Access you can enter the code "BIRTHDAY" in the coupon code screen to unlock an Anniversary Cake Gravestone and Pixile Party Hat.
  
• Super Pixile Tiger also joins the celebrations, now available in the Research Lab to create as a new tiger breed.
  

• You can now slide on ice, including on Lake Slippity and in the courtyard of Penguin Palace. At full speed on ice, movement is 12% faster than on regular ground. Hamster balls also get this bonus.
  
• Now that SAR has been available for one year, we have decided to upgrade the game's engine from Unity 2017 to Unity 2018. This gives us access to new features, performance/security improvements and bug fixes. One big upgrade is the ability to use the new IL2CPP compiler with Unity 2018, which brings with it a more secure game client, and improved performance in certain areas.
  
• With Unity 2018, our minimum requirement to play SAR is now Windows 7. Our previous official minimum requirement was Windows Vista, although it was technically possible to play SAR on Windows XP even though it is not officially supported. If anyone runs into issues because of the update, please contact us via email (contact at pixilestudios.com) or in our discord server.
  
• Snow will intensify in the Tundra during rain events.
  
• The Minimap now shows the interiors of buildings.
  
• Super Husky has been redesigned.
  
• Thomas Gun colored skins available as random drops.
  
• Updated our animation toolkit (Spine 3.8), which should provide some minor performance improvements.
  
• Fix for Discord overlay/integration. Let us know if there's still any issues.
  
• Fixed z-ordering on the doors at Cattitude.
  
• Fix for first time accounts having no equipped emote.

We hope all of you in the USA are having wonderful Thanksgiving weekends! Our new Super Turkeys aren't entirely sure what to think of this whole weekend, but they seem to be taking care of themselves...

As of this week you can now create Super Turkeys in the Research Lab (a Legendary Super Chicken breed) and there's also a new Winner Winner Super Turkey milestone for winning a game as a Super Turkey!
