Merry CRISPRmas Eve, Super Animals! The final wave of holiday cheer is here, capping off three weeks of festive mayhem. Complete these last challenges (and the previous weeks’ challenges) from now until Friday, January 3rd to secure your holiday loot, and maybe show off a bit to Santa Claws.

Run, run, as fast as you can, but Super Jump Rolling is faster: the Super Gingerbread Wolf is hot, fresh and CRISPR’d from the ovens of SAW Labs! Dr. Dogna swears it’s more “science” than “baking,” but cloning pods are close enough, right?

The ghost of CRISPRmas past is paying a visit: Scrooge Twitch Drops have returned, with two new items for 2024! You can watch any Drops-enabled Super Animal Royale streams on Twitch to earn the following items:

To start earning Twitch Drops, you’ll need to link your Super Animal and Twitch accounts using the SAR Drops website (if you haven’t already) and watch any stream with Drops-enabled in the Super Animal Royale category on Twitch. The campaign will be live until Friday, January 3!

The fabled and fearsome Super Yule Cat—straight out of Icelandic myth and freshly CRISPR’d by Dr. Dogna—has joined the Research Lab roster, so you’ll want to keep your outfits extra stylish to avoid its disapproving glare as you complete your challenges.

In case you missed it, the Super Merch Shop has a few new CRISPRmas-themed items courtesy of Cheryl, including the new Pete’s Swamp CRISPRmas card! It’s dual-sided and has a sparkly holographic effect on the main artwork to evoke the feeling of snow falling in the scene.

Two new stickers, including a holographic CRISPRmas Peep sticker, were also recently added to the shop, and there's still stock left of Carl’s Choice Health Juice Tumblers and Cups (discounted products with minor cosmetic damage).

Due to shipping times, orders placed now won't arrive before Christmas, but we hope you all love your items when you get them in your paws!

The year’s final update is here! We’re kicking off the CRISPRmas season with the release of Super Snakes, the first week of CRISPRmas, and plenty of stocking-stuffing surprises to snag. Check back each Tuesday through the event for new items to earn, and a new Super Animal breed!

They said it couldn’t be done, but thanks to Dr. Dogna and Thomas Sleddison’s efforts, Super Snakes are finally here—equipped with robotic prostheses to run, gun, and groove with the best!



Super Snakes are now available to unlock in the Research Lab beginning at level 50, with four total breeds to unlock:

Winter’s here in the northern hemisphere, and the island is all dressed up, which can only mean one thing: it’s time for CRISPRmas! Gather round the festive Welcome Center fountain with your fellow Super Animals to celebrate friendship, generosity, peace (for now), and most importantly, the CRISPRmas miracle of genetic modification. Mark your advent calendars as well, because we’ve got three weeks of challenges, rewards, and surprises scheduled for this holiday season.

Santa Claws has scattered candy canes around the map, which grant a small heal and help you progress through some of your weekly challenges. Smashing snowmen (snow animals?) around Thomas’ Tundra will score you some candy canes, too. You’ll even earn them from completing matches!

A new breed has arrived in the Research Lab to deal with naughty Super Animals: Super Krampus. This festive enforcer is the newest breed of Super Goat, and as with all new breeds of Super Animal, it’s a permanent addition to the Lab, so you can take your time gathering its DNA and Super Serum.

The game has already exceeded our wildest dreams for where it could go, and we can’t wait to start a brand new chapter with all of you next year when the Super Animal World expansion arrives!



We’ve also included some gameplay tweaks and bug fixes in this update:

• Holding the creep hotkey while throwing a Zip-and-Go now prevents automatic riding, offering more strategic deployment options.
  
• The Menace Bat Wings item is now a neck slot item! If you had it equipped in any of your loadouts, you’ll need to re-equip it.
  
• Weapon swapping animations now take priority over shooting, taping, and drinking. This is to fix an animation issue from v1.9.5 where shooting slow weapons and quick swapping would not show the weapon swap animation.
  
• Removed an exploit allowing the duplication of Zip-and-Gos via swapping throwables while deploying a zipline.
  
• Fixed an issue causing death cancellation when eating coconuts, health fruit, mushrooms, or event consumables during the same tick as reaching 0 health.
  

Some tweaks have also been made to the Bwoking Dead game mode to improve Zombie Joe navigation as well as final escape zone generation:

• Zombie Joe bots now have a higher AI pathing limit, preventing them from becoming unable to find a path in certain areas (such as the northwestern cliffs in Thomas’ Tundra).
  
• A slight collision adjustment has been made in the Super Animal Super Stage conductor’s podium area to fix Zombie Joe bots from getting stuck.
  
• The number of attempts for the game to find a suitable escape zone has been increased, and the method it uses to choose an escape zone has been improved. This should reduce edge cases of the final escape zone’s yellow circle being on water.
  

With the new year right around the corner and the release of the Super Animal World expansion on the horizon, SAR’s future is looking brighter than ever! The team has been hard at work this year, and can’t wait for all of you to get your paws on 2025’s huge new additions to the island.
