CCP Games Reveals EVE Online: Legion Expansion at EVE Fanfest 2025

At EVE Fanfest 2025, CCP Games has just announced their latest expansion, EVE Online: Legion and a slew of updates and additions that come with it.

MMO EVE Online is currently hosting its biggest event of the year, EVE Fanfest. After being on hiatus last year, Fanfest 2025 proves to be moving full steam ahead with the first of many announcements, EVE Online: Legion, coming to the game on May 27, 2025!

So what does this mean for EVE players? First, Legion is bringing balance changes to cruiser and capital ships, plus a reworked map experience. For the pilots out there, Omega clones will also be able to gain more skill points through the AIR Career Program. This was all done in partnership with the Council of Stellar Management. EVE Online is always working with players, and the CSM is “a player advocacy group, consisting of 10 members democratically elected by the players, along with 2 additional members selected by CCP and voted in the top 20, to advise and assist CCP in... Celebratory capsuleers!

We’re at the end of a jam-packed day here at Fanfest 2025, and the excitement is palpable. Starting early at 9:00 UTC, an electric atmosphere was already evident throughout Harpa, and we could feel the EVE community synergizing.

This energy will grow exponentially over the next few days, and we can’t wait for what’s next. Tune in to the Live Stream throughout the weekend!
Player presentations: Our shared stories
Day 1 boasted a variety of fantastic presentations. Some of the highlights included EVE for everyone - a discussion on what inclusivity means, an opportunity to share personal stories, and a look at what initiatives are being taken in-game and within the community to make New Eden more welcoming for all pilots.

Player presentations included Weaponizing EVE for Good! by long-time EVE Streamer and EVE Partner Rahne, which showcased the power of the EVE community to rally together to make a positive impact in the world, from charity fundraisers to community-driven initiatives.

Focusing in on the new members of the EVE community, UNDOCK: EVE from a New Player Perspective by EVE Partner The Boojum explored why the experiences of rookie pilots are so very valuable. Sharing his insights as a new player, he shared his thoughts on what it’s like to enter a long-established MMORPG, along with salient advice on how rookies can successfully carve out their own adventures.
Drifter Summit YC127
Today’s Drifter Summit took a look back at the Drifters' influence on New Eden and the events that have transpired over the last several months. Convened at the behest of the Sisters of EVE, facilitated by the Arataka Research Consortium, and represented here by Uriel Anteovnuecci and DutchGunner, the summit featured players who’ve made significant contributions to their factions during the Race for the Hives, and who were specially invited to attend this RP-lite narrative event as delegates for their chosen faction.
Trade Hub treasures
Diverse and wondrous things were seen in the Fanfest Trade Hub, from glorious EVE inspired original art, to Titan Forge gameplay, and fully costumed capsuleers.
The Art of War for New Eden
Presented by Rixx Javix, one of the EVE Community’s most celebrated artists, we were immersed in the creative journey behind EVE: War for New Eden, with a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how the upcoming board game evolved from concept to production.
Charity dinner at CCP HQ
Fanfest wouldn’t be complete without an inspiring opportunity to meet, greet, and eat with EVE developers and CCP’s CEO at the Gróska headquarters. Tonight’s dinner featured an evening of low-key networking with the CCP community and an exciting chance for players to engage with developers, ask questions, and exchange ideas. To top it off, proceeds from the dinner went to support Barnaspítali Hringsins, the Children’s Hospital of Iceland.
Metal mayhem at day’s end
We’re calling it Capsuleer Carnage! As the first full day of official Fanfest 2025 programming comes to an end, capsuleers are converging for a wild night at Lemmy, Reykavík’s fave live rock music venue. Labelled a no-holds-barred, late-night bar brawl, this event features the sonic assault of CCP's very own hell-raising DJ duo, CCP duckling and CCP Rzarector. While capsuleers and CCP-ers alike bond over a shared love of metal mayhem in downtown Reykjavík, the dawn of a new day is quickly approaching. We’ll see you back at it tomorrow!

Capsuleers,

The war is raging, but the biggest prizes still await. Capsuleer Day XXII: Nexus Reckoning is nearing its climax, and tomorrow, 23 April, is the final day to begin logging in and still claim the big 650,000 Skill Point haul before the event ends on 15 May.

Capsuleer Day XXII Live Now

TL;DR – What’s New in Capsuleer Day XXII: Nexus Reckoning
 • Capsuleer Day XXII is live - the final phase of the Drifter Crisis has begun
 • Activities for all playstyles in all areas of New Eden
 • New Drifter wormhole combat sites:
 • Labyrinth Complex – randomized multi-room PvE gauntlet
 • Nexus Point – high-end site unlocked with a key from the Labyrinth Complex
 • K-space exploration content with chances at Genolution implants, SKINs, and more
 • Expect the unexpected on 6 May

Capsuleer Day XXII is live, and with it, the full scope of Nexus Reckoning has been revealed. The stage was set with the Race for the Hives, and now five factions – Amarr, Caldari, Minmatar, EDENCOM, and the Triglavian Collective – are embedded deep in Drifter wormhole systems. They won’t hold these systems alone. They’ll need your support to stay in the fight and push the advantage.

From empire space to wormholes, from miners to combat pilots, this is a full spectrum call to arms. And the most dangerous sites have just been uncovered.
Enter the Labyrinth Complex & Nexus Point
Two new Drifter wormhole combat sites are active. The Labyrinth Complex is a sprawling gauntlet with shifting layouts, multiple acceleration gate destinations, a roaming Drifter battleship, and a mix of combat and non-combat challenges. Capsuleers who complete the Labyrinth Complex will earn a key to the Nexus Point, a site that pushes even Tech II battlecruisers to their limits. This is the heart of Drifter space – high risk, high reward.
Build Filaments. Jump In. Fight for Control.
To reach those Drifter wormhole systems, capsuleers can now construct filaments to get there directly, with materials gathered from Tyranite deposit asteroid belts in k-space and Pochven. Faction-held wormholes now host unique item traders, each loyal to their occupying force.

Fight Drifter forces and support the Amarr, Caldari, Minmatar, EDENCOM, or the Triglavian Collective to help them hold their ground in hostile space.
Faction & Officer Loot
Combat in Drifter wormholes can lead to high-end faction and officer module drops, while updated Horizon Siege Point sites – now called Reckoning: Vigilance Point sites – bring intense PvE battles to wormholes and Pochven. Keys for these sites can be found across empire space, including hacking content from the Drifter Crisis.
Explore & Reap the Rewards
Sleeper relic sites and Drone Manufacturing combat sites are appearing across k-space. These can reward capsuleers with Drifter-themed SKINs, SKINR components, boosters, filament blueprint copies (BPCs), and Genolution Core implants. Some BPCs allow creation of items that can modify Drifter wormhole sites themselves – creating new tactical options in the war to come.
The Eye of the Storm
Capsuleer Day will reach its zenith on 6 May. As the occupying factions dig in, Drifter retaliation cannot be ruled out. Capsuleers are advised to reinforce, coordinate, and prepare. The seasonal award track is active, with Capsuleer Day Tyrantbreaker SKINs available through both it and daily login rewards. Log in, gear up, and stay alert.

The final phase of the Drifter Crisis has begun. What happens next is up to you.
