Patch - August 29, 2018

Ahoy, pirates!

August is coming to an end and we have a new patch for you!

We've been listening to the amazing feedback and suggestions you've left for us on our interactive roadmap: https://furiousseas.canny.io

While we can't make any promises just yet, we can say that we have been making some foundational changes to Furious Seas to prepare for some exciting prototyping tests. Why are we doing this? We want to add a lot more replay value and variety to the gameplay experience.

In the meantime, these are the visible changes we have for you in the latest patch:

New Additions
  • Higher resolution terrain.
  • Optimizations to physics and animation improving low end framerate drops and duration of stalls.
  • Ability to adjust swivel gun (command cannon) placement.
  • Mixed Reality options in the settings menu for content creators hoping to hide the oval camera mask and the player's hands.

Adjustments
  • Enemy boat crew members can now be seen from further away.
  • Improvements to the save system in preparation for future updates.
  • Improved swivel gun (command cannon) interactions by reducing the frequency of the bug causing players to lose their grip. Not 100% fixed, so if it still happens, try restarting the level.
  • Tutorial flow improvements.

Bug Fixes
  • Fix for water glitching when player floats down to their boat.
  • Fix for incorrect render ordering for particles causing depth issues.
  • Fix for shadows on the deck at the incorrect height.
  • Fix for game hang if player dies after killing a boss.

Known Issues
  • Demon Sisters death dialogue might not play properly.
  • This patch improved performance on most of the machines we tested. However, one PC below minimum spec had an inconsistent chance of framerate dropping and not recovering. If you encounter this issue, please discuss your situation with us on the forums: https://steamcommunity.com/app/875760/discussions/2/

Patch - July 31, 2018

We've got a small update to fix some bugs and add a set of alternate controls for HTC Vive owners.

For Vive owners, we would love to hear your feedback on which control option you prefer more. Feel free to discuss in the forums!

New Additions
  • [Accessibility] Alternate control option for HTC Vive to avoid use of the Grip Button. Access through [Pause Menu]->[Settings]->[Controller].
  • Sail damage added to boss boats.

Bug Fixes
  • Fix for menu pointer not working properly.
  • Fix for AI boats continuously moving sails up and down.
  • Fix for jittering sails at high speeds.
