MAJOR Fall Update, 2021!

We've been busy for 5 months - and we have a TON to show for it! The new build covers Level 1 and 2, which is about 40 minutes of gameplay. This is the new bar we'll be hitting for the rest of the game.

Leto had a ton of work done to her. She has a new movement. She has a charge shot.
Leto's dash goes low now. Leto's animator was redone, and she has a new set of animations for idle, running, and jumping. Letos gun has a kickback, muzzle flash, and dropped bullet shells on all animations. Leto creates dust when she moves, jumps, and lands. Seriously, we put a ton of work into our girl!

Level 1 was completely redone - new enemies (bats and arc toads) - Dysaur riding was also greatly improved! Grass was added and it moves!

John Mule got new backdrops and artwork - Gilbert has bookshelves and a cat tree, Melody and Kiki have bigger stalls, Leto is now a plant mom, and there are two pictures you can find on the ship! John mule has a cockpit! There is new art EVERYWHERE!

Melody has a new system for gashapons - a way to discover new lore in the game!

Level 2 - Caves were redone as well, with moving mushrooms! Jellycats got animation frames! Boss got another art/code pass, too! Tabris' animations were all redone!

Also - you can no longer get stuck on tail-lures, or the boss!

# Other things

  • Title screen was touched up
  • Loading Screen has custom art and quips for lore
  • When a level starts, it flashes 'Contract Start!'
  • There is a game over screen now!
  • Changed the buttons around a bit! But, you can remap your keyboard controls! And change your screen resolutions!
  • Dialog UI was touched up, now has a cute Alma prompt for continuing dialog! It also can move around the screen, which will be used in a few cutscenes for comedic effect!
  • Started adding dialog bits to punch up the 'Mercenary' in Mercenary Leto - Tabs mentions he's a merc more, Leto and Pax have dialog to help with that, Kiki mentions 'contracts'
  • Monsters drop health or dust now - new full-health drop!
  • Fixed the FMV flashing bug - where you'd see the level again right before the level would reload
  • Companions will land on the ground if you get into dialog
  • Can skip cutscenes at full speed, even if there is movement in the scripting
  • The FMV for when Tabs/Lily gets introduced was touched up


We'll be starting on Level 3 now - we already have new art assets and a basic level started. Talk again soon!

Hotfix Build Uploaded!

I watched a play through last weekend and noticed a really bad bug that needed to be fixed, so it's been fixed. :)

* ie, the dining room cutscene shows only when it needs to
* Gilbert is back on L1-1, where he should be
* Seedlings stop auto prompting pickup dialog
* Sprite scaling when enemies takes damage looks much better on bigger bosses
* Made Kaiden easier
* Tweaked some room boundaries on various levels
* More varying portraits are used in earlier cutscenes
* Edge and Gibson portraits added
* Added Final Kaiden

Okay - back to Final Kaiden. And the boys need their new armor. Lots to do!

New Quarterly Build - Winter Edition!

It's here! Another few months, another build for y'all to enjoy!

Use Debug Chan to warp to the new stuff immediately. Don't know how to use the debug menu? The Discord link below will help you out! It starts right after the Kaiden fight and takes you to the end of the game. That's right, we're to the end of the story! So exciting!

There are plenty of things that we still need to address, but we'll get there. I hope you enjoy!

* New boss! Plus, Kaiden has sounds now! Woof woof!
* You play as Lily for a short scene!
* World Map now supports riding Zaanlith, a new character! She's the mother dragon you see in the beginning of the game.
* Loads of new art for cutscenes.
* Scylla as a companion has entering sprites
* I sped the font speed up. It feels zippy now!
* Damage font looks a bunch better
* Fixed various bugs, including Issac resetting his animations

Things to do next - Tabs and Issac still need their full armor gear. I have one more boss to start. The last level still needs to be done. Loads of scripting and art. BUT! We're getting there!
