NEW MULTIPLAYER GAME MODE + perfecting slopes!

Dear DASHers. Today a new build is live. While there is only a few bug fixes and a nice new 'reversed' slope (basically an upside down slope to give new shapes to structures in levels) we are also introducing the first multiplayer mode in the DASHgame. But behold... you must be patient because there is still some way to go until the mode is all the way in the box!

Build 2007; Early Access; Steam:

- The currency and shop is still not available so players will not receive any gifts or medals yet.
- The mode in BUILD 2007 is strictly for testing server and game compatibility! As mentioned there is no reward or visible log screen where you can overview contestants, rewards and all-over score.
- You can't yet see your opponents. YET!! Our next priority (as soon as we can see that the server-to-game system is polished and properly look at by the DASHers and devs) is to include other players in your game screen on the levels. So you will see other players simultaneously on your screen.
- There are so many cool things we can do with this new mode!. Besides from fixing and bug-hunting we would love some intuitive responses from DASHers like "which things we would like to see and experience during this mode".
- Have you tried the Gameboy shader called "4 Colors" yet?

- The slope tiles can now be placed upside down, meaning that they are working on ceilings too. Help perfect the algorithm and report bugs or feedback (in our Discord server's #bug-reports is best but here is cool too [Discord invite: https://discord.gg/vtnHwVY) to the community forum.

We super excited for this next step as we are getting closer to real release! New people are joining the game these days, so it's the perfect timing to update with a new mode!

Come join our Discord if you haven't yet :D

AUTUMN SALE: 75% OFF! (WE WANT MORE RUNNERS AND BUILDERS

During December '19 (me) Duka and my man Leary will develop the last part of the DASHgame with a goal to release the final premium game January 2020.

While we can't expose all details yet, the decision to work on competitive and multiplayer-focused designs is locked down. This is what all our production notes tell us, this is what you players tell us, and it is something that we ourselves ARE HUNGRY FOR!

The game's price and game-economy will change, therefore we are now seeing a window where we can distribute the game for a low price (much lower price than our first assumption) - and hopefully with this discount be able to fund some of the work Dec/Jan.

Without giving the full details, I can say as much as we have a very cool plan to be able to pipeline new players into the world, and avoid the scare of a fixed high price.

DASH More Solid Than Ever!

Hi DASHers! Welcome to a new update!

As you all know the Slope tile was implemented in last update. However some natural bugs and small errors have been spotted by the community of bug-hunters - most of them are now addressed. Let's find some more :D

  • Fixed script causing large levels to slow down the game speed. This was implemented in update 2006 due to new auto-tile scripts in slope objects. Now fixed so large levels should run smooth on all computers.
  • Fixed error when checking for slopes’ mask when a crate was on the top of a “hill”
  • Fixed error causing the cursor to delete other objects when deleted a tile
  • Fixed error when placing two slope tiles next to each other causing a wrong sprite to be drawn. Now it’s not possible to place two slope tiles facing one another. There must be a flat ground tile in between.
  • Attempt to fix memory leak(s) possibly appearing when respawning, going to next or previous level during run mode. Should not happen anymore meaning the game should now be free from major leaks such as this one which has been proved especially by “CraZeD” during his long runs with hundreds of respawns. During a stress test I tried respawning > 200 times, and tried going to next level > 200 times. The test showed no leak and therefore did not crash. Let me know if happens to you?

Let's get the DASHing on, and remember to report bug, errors, and other feedback to either our Discord (go to http://www.babyduka.com/dashgame to find invite) or here in the Community Hub's discussion!

NEW UPDATE: Slopes Implemented

BUILD 2006 IS LIVE ON STEAM!

The update is live and ready to be tested and expored!

It's DASH day again!

With this new update you can experience a new feeling in the editor. The slope tile (in all tilesets) will allow for corners to be smooth, cool ramps to be built and new ways to play with the enemies. The missile ammo is also more explosive now, making it more interesting in chaotic and action-based levels. Launch the game and get ready to create the levels that will

Though it required over 72 hours of extra math, testing and puzzles I finally made everything come together in this epic build which is going to be a game changer:
Slope tiles unlocked - make levels with new dynamics, flows and challenges!
  • Slopes allow you to flow over hills Sonic style and polish your cave or alien ship hall with smooth edges
  • Sploders slide down slopes. Let them have a ride!
Missiles now more explosive - leaving a clear impression of their advantages (and disadvantages! The new missile has the power of 4 explosions in one, damaging up to 9 tiles on impact.

This was a massive intervention in the basic physics etc. (you were right Buenaventura!). Yet everything is as solid as ever! It took some time to make the math for the auto-tiling of the slopes and there are still one or two errors left (can you find them!? XD).

Because this is such a massive update, your help finding bugs and quirky matters is more needed than ever!

NEW UPDATE: Price lowered + Bazooka + crumbling platforms!

DASHers of the world! A brand new build is live. Ready to satisfy your cravings for more pixelated tiles!

BUILD 2005 IS LIVE

  • We lowered the price of the Early Access ticket! How about that!
  • New crumbling platform integrated: make levels with tiles which disappear (crumble and vanish) to create complexity and danger!!
  • New Bazooka ammo integrated! BOOM! (massive impact on crates and enemies! Destroys crumbling tiles too)
  • More optimized projectile precision. Still not perfect but getting closer
  • News tab in Main Menu upgraded to feature and display new stuff in all new builds
  • Tournament option now in menu, despite the fact that you can't enter it yet. Werkin' on it

As mentioned the devs will not be integrating server-based design such as Tournament right now, because we have to focus on bumping up our budget which pulls us away from the desks, I hope you all will find this type of upgrade exciting and something worth trying out!

Looking forward to more streams and levels!!!
