UPDATED: Auction House Resource Market closing until April 21

UPDATE: When functionality returns after the deployment of the Season III update, players will have 72 hours to retrieve resources from the Auction House Resource Market, after which they will be irretrievable.

As the Conqueror’s Blade team works hard to deploy Season III: Soldiers of Fortune next week, we need to temporarily close the Auction House’s Resource Market in-game. This will allow us to prevent players’ resources getting stuck in different regions while the Borderlands are locked at the beginning of the season.

From April 17 at 15:00 CEST (6am PDT) until the launch of Season III on April 21, you will be unable to list new resources for sale in the Auction House. Any current listings in the Auction House will expire, and the resources can then be collected and returned to you. You will be able to list these resources again when the Resource Market reopens next week.

Season III: All you need to know about the Maul

One of the headline additions of the Season III: Soldiers of Fortune update is the Maul, the first new hero class to be added to Conqueror’s Blade since it was in pre-beta. With its limited manoeuvrability (it can’t side roll) offset by a devastating gavel, it’s a warlord that is sure to make an immediate and lasting impression when it smashes its way into the game on April 21st.

However, in keeping with new units introduced as part of previous seasons, the Maul won’t be immediately accessible. To unlock the ground-pounding new class, your characters will first have to earn enough Glory to reach Nobility Tier 25, which by our calculations should take no more than a few hours. There will, of course, be a Season III Battle Pass to aid your Seasonal progression, but it won’t be a requirement to unlock the Maul.

Once you have access to the Maul, you will be able to unlock its class-specific skills by working through a series of tasks, which, similar to Unit Challenges, can be completed through normal gameplay or by paying a small amount of Silver. In addition to unlocking skills, you’ll be able to access Schematics for Maul-specific weapons and armour as you progress through the Nobility Tiers (again, with or without a Battle Pass).

To help you plan for your imminent advancement, we’ve listed some of the more interesting Maul Skills below:

Mighty Mjölnir
The Maul isn’t known for its speed, but when he absolutely has to bring his weapon into range, this skill will get him there when it matters! Can also be followed up with a shoulder barge and combo skills.
Up from Hel
A devastating overhead swing that can be chained up to four times, at an increased cost to Stamina and movement speed. A fourth strike cannot be blocked.
Forge of War
Of all the area-of-effect weapons that can be aimed at the floor, the Maul’s is the most powerful, sending enemy units into the air and causing extensive blunt force damage that cannot be blocked.
Strike & Grapple
A spectacular attack that when successfully used on enemy heroes will see them picked up, thrown over the shoulder, charged forward and then tossed to the ground before their limp body is given a final pounding.

Season III: Unit Challenges

As was the case for Season II, the new units that will be available during the course of Season III will need to be unlocked. For the Wrath of the Nomads units, this was achieved by completing weekly challenges, which scaled up as higher-tier units were introduced. The release of Season’s III units will follow a similar pattern, with four Seasonal units unlocked via Unit Challenges, with the Tier-5 Pavise Crossbowmen also able to be accessed with Honour points.

Each Unit Challenge stage will require a number of tasks to be completed, 6 out of 8 for Tier-3, 8 out of 10 for Tier-4 and 10 out of 12 for Tier-5. The Season III schedule is currently planned to last 10 weeks.

In addition to the four Seasonal units, Season III will introduce a new Mercenary unit, the Martellatori, which will be available from the Mercenary panel of the Unit interface for 4,900 Sovereigns or 700k Silver.

Units:
Prerequisite:

● Complete 4x Tier-5 Unit Challenge stages

From June 2

(*Dates are subject to change)

The return of Season II Unit Challenges

For those that didn’t manage to unlock all of the previous season’s units, the requisite Season II Unit Challenges will also be accessible for the duration of the new season. You can access them from a drop-down box in the top-left of the Unit Challenge screen of the Seasons interface (F5). Note that, while similar prerequisites will apply to unlock them, there will be no wait for higher tier units to become available. Also be aware that the additional rewards that were specific to Season II for unlocking units - Fangs and cosmetics - will not be issued, nor will it be possible to acquire Season II cosmetics from the Seasonal Store.

It’s important to note that you can only focus on one set of Unit Challenges at a time. If you wish to switch from completing Season III Unit Challenges to Season II’s, it will cost 1,000 Silver and there is a time penalty to switching back (which can be offset by Silver), so consider carefully when might be the best time to focus on the units you need. If and when you do switch, your progress will be saved for when you return.

New Challenges

As well as the return of unit Unlock Challenges, new to Season III are Experience Challenges and Growth Challenges. Together they comprise all the Unit Challenge stages, but there are differences among them in terms of the rewards you’ll receive.

Completing Experience Challenges (the first stage) offers a way to temporarily unlock and progress Season III units before they are permanently acquired through Unlock Challenges. All Unit XP and Veterency gained will be retained, but only if the unit is permanently unlocked before Season III ends (via stages two, three and four - depending on the unit tier).

Once you’ve unlocked your new Season III units, you can start advancing them by undertaking Growth Challenges. Unlike other seasonal unit challenges, Growth Challenges are specific to each unit and reward completion with Epic Doctrines and other useful items that are specific to that unit. For tier-5 units, there are two stages to work through.

If during the course of Season III you are finding it difficult to stay ahead of Unit Challenges, individual tasks can be completed for 100 Sovereigns, which was a feature of the previous season. Regardless of how you intend to unlock and advance your units, we hope you enjoy doing so - good luck!
