Server downtime - Tuesday 3rd March

Please be aware that from 7:00 CET on Tuesday 3rd March (10pm PDT, 3/2), the Conqueror’s Blade servers will be inaccessible. The downtime is expected to last for 5 hours.

Patch Notes:

*Some changes highlighted in an earlier post have been removed as they were found to have not been implemented as described. We will continue to keep players updated on any further changes.

New feature:

The Conqueror's City will be accessible as part of Season II's Campaign. Please note that March 3rd's Territory Wars will be conducted in "Drill Mode". This is to allow players an opportunity to try out the new mechanics for themselves. You can read about Drill Mode on the events page.

Ladder interactions in Maps:

In order to provide Warlords more flexibility on the battlefield, we have made lots of improvements and changes by adjusting the interaction logic of ladders in Siege Battles. Attackers and Defenders can both now interact with the siege ladders, whether that be building them or kicking them down, this means that Defenders can quickly get back to the city wall to defend their position, and attackers can also kick out the ladders after climbing the wall to stop the pursuit of enemy forces.

Open world:

The location of all members inside Freedom Unions (Player Houses) and Imperial Restorationists (NPC Houses) will be displayed on the open-world map and refreshed every 10 seconds.

Auction House Guidance Prices:

After reviewing transaction data, we've adjusted the guided price in the Auction House for some of the following items: Unit Kits, Schematics, Weapons and Equipment Sets.

Imperial Restorationists:

Added an exclamation mark for notifications of completion of Seasonal Stage quests within the Seasonal interface (main screen) and the Campaign interface.

Artillery:

Artillery running out of ammo would not only block allies' artillery projectiles but also their movement, so we have optimised this issue accordingly.
  • Deployed Artillery will now be destroyed automatically 30 seconds after they run out of ammo.
  • Optimised the quality filter in the Artillery Workshop to make it easier for Warlords to find the Artillery they are looking for, the categories are:
    • Normal, Well-Made, Optimal and Legendary
  • Changed the requirements for the Tutorial Quest where you build a Grapeshot Cannon, into requiring you needing to build any type of artillery.

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a bug where the Trigger of victory counting quests did not take effect in "Steppe Wuqing (Field).
  • Fixed an incorrect city gate switch mark inside one of the buildings in "Siege of Eagle Pass (Expedition)".
  • Fixed a bug where house member's titles were not recycled after the players deleted their character.
  • Fixed a bug where Warlords couldn't join a House once they arrived to a new region by using Cross-Region Migration Tokens.
  • Fixed a bug where Warlords could operate their supply dump in the open world after using "Unit Management".
  • Fixed a bug with path finding when heading to "Ungverija' - Mount NPC", previously warlords would auto-path to the Watchman after choosing the vendor.
Please stay tuned to our Discord channel in case of any immediate server updates.

Conqueror’s City: All you need to know!

The Conqueror’s City, an ancient prize sought by conquerors from far and wide, is almost ready to take. Will you lead your House or Alliance to reign… or ruin? To ensure you’re fully prepared to fight for the City when it launches on March 3, we’ve collected and answered some of your burning questions about Stage 4: Conqueror’s Crown from the Campaign of Season II: Wrath of the Nomads.

How many Territory Wars will take place for the Conqueror’s City?

There will be five Territory Wars, with one taking place every Tuesday and Saturday for the duration of Stage 4: Conqueror’s Crown (which is currently set to last for 17 days). If a House seizes one of the four surrounding gates of the city during the Territory War, they will then be able to attack the inner city straight away.

When will the victors be decided?

The House that claims and holds the Conqueror’s City at the end of Stage 4 will be its sole owners until the Territory War reset, just before the start of Season III (launch date yet to be decided). Past victors will still be honoured in the future through a ‘hall of fame’ on the official Conqueror’s Blade website.

What are the Conqueror’s City rewards for House and Alliance members?

Members of the House and Alliance which holds the Conqueror’s City will receive a special Player Title (available from the character interface), which will be unique every Season. Weekly distributions for the Conqueror’s City are also larger than for ordinary fiefs. Further rewards for Season II will be revealed soon.

What are the Conqueror’s City rewards for House leaders?

Leaders of victorious Houses will receive the ‘Hegemon’ Player Title (this will then become part of the ‘Title’ interface for Houses), which does not grant any additional benefits while applied.

When will rewards be decided and issued?

Rewards will be calculated once Stage 4: Conqueror’s Crown has ended. During Stage 5: Imperial Dawn, which marks the end of the Season II Campaign, we will assess and distribute prizes.

How many Battle Lines does the Conqueror’s City have?

All four of the Conqueror’s City gates have two Battle Lines. The inner city has two Battle Lines.

What measures are you taking to prevent other players taking advantage of exploits?

As always, we will be keeping a close eye on this Territory War and the Conqueror’s City. We take these matters seriously, and if a House’s behaviour proves to be a cause for concern (for instance, working with another friendly House and not fighting), that House will be punished and will not be eligible for any rewards. We recommend that users record or capture footage to submit as additional evidence during the Conqueror’s City event, and report suspicious activity to our Support team if it becomes an issue.

IMPORTANT: Information may be subject to change. Stay up to date on the latest news and developments through the Conqueror’s Blade website and our social channels.

See you on the battlefield!

Map Guide: Lesser Greenpeak Camp (Siege)

The stronghold that guards Lesser Greenpeak was not built for kings or queens, nor as a place to draft treaties or forge nations. It is the seat of a provincial warlord that only lacks for airs and graces where it is made up for in grit and determination. Do not underestimate its owner’s ability to hold their ground by the amount of it beneath their fingernails!

HISTORY

Where most castles and keeps are built within or atop settlements, the fortifications of Lesser Greenpeak are those of a repurposed mining camp. The main shaft, long since collapsed, leads beneath the main structure, around which an impressive two-tiered stockade has been built. The arterial channels that once drained water away from the mine - and, on occasion, flooded it - have become the walkways, although they appear more like trenches from above. Despite it’s rough and ready appearance, however, and a clear lack of homely luxuries for its occupants, the stronghold at Lesser Greenpeak suits its purpose well. Whatever is being stored in those damp underground tunnels to warrant such a structure, it won’t be easy to prize out.

PLAN OF ATTACK
  • The outer wall is too low for siege towers, but is easily taken by using ladders. However, once you’ve gotten a foothold in the camp, you will need to use the wall to support your advance: place your ranged units there to support your advance, as the defenders have a strong position that you’ll need to counter.
  • Beyond the outer wall, there are two areas that might trap your troops: The first is directly after the wall (either side of the main gate) and the second follows the route around Capture Point A. Both can be lethal bottlenecks to be trapped in, as the defenders have only to pack the flanks and station ranged units around the tier that overlooks the capture point. You will need your finest melee units and heroes leading from the front to punch a way through.
  • Taking the first control point is only half the battle, but the second is slightly easier. Even though it’s on the wooden battlements of the main building, there are a number of routes leading up to it - both ladders and stairs. However, the defenders can quickly counter from its main respawn point, so consider cutting off any reinforcements first by attacking via one of the main flanks.

DEFENSIVE MEASURES
  • Defending well is always about timing: when to rally around fall-back positions and take any opportunities you have to counter-attack when they are most effective. Those positions and opportunities are very pronounced in the case of Lesser Green Peak.
  • Leaving aside the outer wall, the raised area around Control Point A is probably the first best line to fall back to, as it can be supported from the flanks and a raised tier behind.
  • Once A falls, the two flanks need to be held for as long as possible as these are the only routes the attackers can use to get to Control Point B. Use your best units with ranged support, but be prepared to move quickly to support either flank when the attackers switch focus.
  • Point B is a little more porous, but hopefully you have bought enough time to make it hard to take before the clock runs down. Reinforce your troops quickly, perhaps with cavalry, to provide the best chance for your last stand to suceed.

Tour the Conqueror’s City with your favourite host

As a prelude to the Conqueror’s City becoming the ultimate prize for warlords, the gates of the previously unseen city will be opening for a select few to explore its streets, take in its views and relay their findings to the community at large.

The preview event, which will be taking place on one of the game’s test servers from 18:00 CET (9am PST) on Thursday, February 27, is limited to those in the Content Creation Program. We’ll be bringing you more details about Conqueror’s City and its commanding views very soon!

The Conqueror’s City is almost in sight

With the conclusion of another season on the horizon, the gates of the Conqueror’s City are honing into view and will be opening on Tuesday, March 3rd when the fourth stage of Season II’s Campaign is unlocked.

On this date, as hostilities get underway for Territory Wars, the once-fabled city at the heart of the Borderlands will be ripe for conquest. Those that succeed in taking it can claim unique bragging rights, while those that hold it at the conclusion of Season II will earn a legacy for their house that will echo throughout the ages.

The fortified settlement rises high above the tallest mountain in the Borderlands region. On its own it’s a formidable fortress, with intimidating walls and gleaming towers guarding statues of past heroes, but, to paraphrase a famous warrior, you can’t just walk into Conqueror’s City.

In order to earn the right to enter, you first have to breach one of the four gateway keeps that protect all routes into the city (Gate of Heaven, Gate of Earth, Gate of Glory and Gate of Order). Once a gate is under the control of your house - or one of your allies - you can then target the main city. However, if during the course of events your control of a Gate is lost, you will be ineligible to press on with a final assault.

As is common with some Territory Wars battle locations, the Gate fiefs and Conqueror’s City itself will feature Battle Lines, which will allow for more dynamic and inclusive battles to accommodate the number of players we expect are keen to fight for them

The house that takes or holds the Conqueror’s City at the moment Season II ends will be enshrined as the victors of Season II, with members being awarded the ultimate title of ‘Hegemon’. You will have to fight to keep it, but your legacy will endure - in time all who become Hegemon will be remembered as being among the most powerful warlords to have lived.

For many of you, March 3rd will mark the end of a long march to reach Conqueror’s City. However, the ultimate challenge is still to come. You’ve proved yourself a capable warrior thus far, but can you win against the very best and claim the game’s ultimate prize?

In six days we’ll have a good idea!
