Steel Division 2 - Blog Post - General Update

Hello all!

We hope everyone is staying strong and safe during these challenging days and weeks. Today’s blog post will be a bit leaner than usual; we are busy putting the finishing touches on some exciting new Steel Division 2 mechanics.

We just got word that the Steel Division 2 League Season 2 playoffs are beginning this weekend! We couldn’t be more excited because we love to see our community active, playing and growing. Find more details about the tournament further below.

Don’t worry, we’ll be back with some more in-depth posts in the not-too-distant future! Let’s get cracking.



We are working on a couple of things. Now, mind you, what frequently happens in the game development business is that you’ll encounter a pesky bug or hit a roadblock necessitating a slight delay or some additional work.

Which is the case with the Destruction mode. We aim to get it in your (playing) hands next week, as a free Reinforcement Pack, but don’t pin us down on an exact day. It’s just around the corner, though!

Another feature we are busy playtesting is the Army General Versus mode. Read all about it in this blog post. This update is still a ways off, a fog of war obscuring the release date to a certain extent, but we can see a launch day on the horizon not too far away!

Third: the Eugen cooks have recently started working on a new tactical tool which should make it much easier for a player to understand if an enemy unit can be damaged or destroyed. We keep on increasing the accessibility of Steel Division 2, and this new feature should tell you at a glance what the chances are of being able to defeat a tank or infantry squad with the unit currently selected. The Steel Division 2 League Season 2 is moving up to the next level. After six weeks of nail-biting battles, devastating blitzkrieg strategies, and last-ditch Hail Mary offensives, 24 of the best Steel Division 2 players have been found. They will continue towards the playoffs, which will start this coming Saturday the 4th of April, and will be streamed live over at SD League beginning at 11:00 CEST.

A short disclaimer: please note that the following tournament is not organized by Eugen. We support it by sharing the message and the tournament details, and putting Eugen’s stamp of approval for guaranteed fun - but that’s it!

The playoff matches, across various divisions, will continue over the next four weekends. You can find a schedule here.

You will find all the games cast by some known entities like Angrybird, Rangroo, but also some new ones like Metalphase and Nilla.
