Early Access release date and our Dev blog!
The wait is over, Moduwar has an official release date for Early Access: June 3rd,2025
After so many years together, we can finally announce to you: Moduwar will be officially out in Early Access on June 3rd,2025, on Steam! This is a significant step forward for our team, we are finally releasing our dream game soon. But early access does not mean that we have finished the development of our game; it still needs improvement and work. We look forward to your feedback!
Moduwar dev update
I can’t quite put into words what it feels like to reach the finish line—well, Early Access—for a game you’ve been working on for nearly a decade. But it’s finally happening, and I’m feeling the full spectrum of emotions. In the next update, I want to take you behind the scenes and share everything we've been working on in these final months leading up to release. And believe me, it’s a lot. It honestly feels like a year’s worth of work packed into just four months - Alon Kaplan
Campaign Deep Dive
In the single-player campaign, we already had three levels in a relatively polished state, but recently, we wrapped up work on Level 3, which we’ve been pouring a lot of effort into.
This level marks a major turning point: it's the first time players will encounter the enemy spaceships of Moduwar’s main antagonists—the ruthless Chimera.

Level 3 also introduces two brand-new creatures:
Mogar
Spitter
This level also contains hidden clues about the history of the humans who once explored the planet—uncovering fragments of their past missions and intentions.
You'll also get your first glimpse into the mysterious Free Modu, a unique faction whose story will unfold further as you progress through the game.
Live Action Cutscenes
Another major thing we’re working on right now is the production of live-action cutscenes—complete with actors, extras, and an absolutely wild spaceship bridge set. For us, this is a dream come true. It’s our tribute to the classic RTS games we grew up loving, the ones that inspired us to make Moduwar in the first place. These cutscenes will tell the overarching story of Moduwar and finally give players a glimpse into the world we’ve been imagining and building for years.
New Features & Improvements
We’ve made major improvements to the merging system, making it far more intuitive and user-friendly. One big upgrade: you’ll now see visual arrows indicating exactly where the merge will happen—so no more guessing or misplacing your units mid-battle.
(Yes, we know the arrows are currently red... that’s just a placeholder—for now! 😄)
Introducing Large Organs!
Last year, we introduced a powerful new mechanic: the ability to combine three turrets into one massive Turret Organ. Now, we’ve expanded that idea across the entire game. Every organ in Moduwar can now be combined into a large organ—some are simply stronger versions of their original form, while others unlock special abilities that can dramatically shift the course of battle.
Discovering what each one does is part of the fun... if you can manage to build them. 😉
World Map Upgrade!
We’ve finally overhauled Moduwar’s world map with smooth animations and detailed level information.
Each mission now comes with a short introduction, giving players helpful context and a taste of the story before diving in.
It’s not just a map anymore—it’s the start of your journey.
One Last Thing…Localization
Just yesterday, we sent the entire game's text off for localization, and Moduwar will soon be available in 6–8 additional languages alongside English. This is a big milestone for us—we're excited to bring the world of Modu to even more players around the globe!
There’s still a ton happening behind the scenes, and even more exciting features on the horizon. We’re fully focused on wrapping up the Early Access version—and already looking ahead to the next big update.
Thank you all for the incredible support so far; none of this would be possible without our amazing community. We will continue to improve our game and make it perfect for you to play.

- Mogar – a fearsome boss that’s as terrifying as it is powerful.
- The Spitter - a mysterious new monster that still doesn’t have an official name—because the Reddit post we shared asking for name ideas absolutely blew up! With so many amazing suggestions, we’re still narrowing it down.

This level also contains hidden clues about the history of the humans who once explored the planet—uncovering fragments of their past missions and intentions.
