Updated Restock UI & Trading Cards

Greetings Shopkeepers! It's been a while since the last update. In this one you can find another updated UI, new objectives, new cosmetics, Steam trading cards, and of course bug fixes like always.

Highlights


[h3]Restock UI[/h3]

The Restock UI has been bursting at the seams after so many items have been added since its inception. To alleviate some of this pain we have given it an update with a larger inventory panel and added the popular sort and filter dropdowns. Items will be remembered when placed for easy restocking. Clearing slots can be done with a single button and favoriting of items is now also possible. We would love to know what you think and what you feel is missing compared to the previous version.

[h3]Splash Screen[/h3]

Just a little reminder of the company that toiled to bring you Winkeltje. The splash screen doesn't take long and can be skipped if you can't wait to continue with your shop.

  • Other - Added analytics to the game. If you gave us permission to track data but would like to rescind it, you can do so in the settings.
  • Other - Added a (skippable) splash screen before the main menu.
  • Trading Cards - Enabled trading card drops in Steam.
  • Objectives - 3 New milestone objectives for each crafting specialization. Sell the required amount of items in a day and be rewarded.
  • Objectives - New farming objectives to farm specific crops. New crops will be unlocked with each completed objective, up to the last objective in this series.
  • Objectives - New farming objectives for general harvesting that unlock the other kitchen garden and planters.
  • Objectives - New final crafting objectives for cooking and alchemy.
  • Cosmetics - 10 more cosmetics to unlock through the new milestone crafting objectives.


[h2]Changes[/h2]
  • Shop Upgrades - Shop Upgrades are now half as expensive.
  • UI - Added item info popup to the commission menu on mouse hover.
  • UI - The catalog menu item options button should now only show when the item has variants.
  • UI - Updated the controls section in the settings menu.
  • Cosmetics - Crafting cosmetic unlocks that were unlocked through crafting objectives have been moved to new milestone objectives.


[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Cursor - Cursor should be now be visible in the main menu when first loading it.
  • UI - Items that can't have a quality level should no longer appear as having a quality level.


[h2]Hotfixes[/h2]
  • Translations - Updated Hungarian.
  • UI - Exiting the game should work again.
  • Objectives - Commission count of quality items was incorrect.
  • UI - Deleting a shop in the main menu would try to update the game prompts and cause an error.


[h2]Known Issues[/h2]
  • Objectives - Craft Amulet objective does not update correctly Fixed on unstable branch
  • Crafting - Silk does not unlock when the Dress is unlocked, you can finish the "Craft Tunics" objective to unlock Silk. Fixed on unstable branch

Update 5505: Bug Fixes

Greetings Shopkeepers! It's been a slow few weeks, but we have some fixes that we wanted to roll out as soon as possible.

Update Notes


[h2]Balance[/h2]
  • Other - Networth no longer takes events into accounts for the worth of items and gives a more reliable networth as a result.
  • Unlocks - Mandrake was not unlocked when Pain Salve was unlocked.
  • Farming - Farming doesn't give extra seeds anymore.


[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Other - The dynamic wall masking was not considering all factors when deciding when to trigger the mask.
  • UI - The commission menu would sometimes incorrectly show item thumbnails due to the thumbnails not being correctly cleared when deactivated.
  • UI - Favoriting an item in the commerce menu was changed from X to Y to align more with expected behavior in other menus.
  • UI - The commerce menu has been made slightly wider to prevent item name overlaps with the
    newly added Y prompt for controllers.
  • UI - Items in the catalog menu can now be favorited with a single controller button press unless
    the furniture has variant options.
  • UI - Community Request - New menus will now have the option to show item quality numerals to help color impaired players.
  • UI - The save game button in the game menu was disabled on day one but did not consider the year causing the button to be disabled on year 'N', day 1.
  • Achievements - Changed some achievement trigger checks to hopefully fix achievements not triggering correctly.

New Commerce Menu

Greetings Shopkeepers! After some much needed time off, we're back with another update. This will be a smaller one (due to the said time off), but it's an important one nonetheless.

  • Events - Added the Alchemy Fair event.
  • UI - Updated the trader menu.
  • UI - Updated the item info tooltip background to better fit with the new style.
  • Cosmetics - 10 new colors of footwear and outfits. These can be obtained by doing crafting objectives.


[h2]Balance[/h2]
  • Commissions - Significantly buffed commission rewards.
  • Unlocks - Sage wasn't unlocked when the Youth Potion was unlocked which requires Sage.


[h2]Changes[/h2]
  • Language - Added Spanish translations back to the store page due to great community translation support.
  • Items - Made Vegetable Soup a starter item.


[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Furniture - Fixed some clipping issues with items placed on the "Large Adorned Table".
  • Furniture - Commission Board did not have the nav mesh obstacle assigned to the ShopObject.
  • Customers - Changed the way the customer data is accessed when selling directly to the one standing at the counter.
  • Customers - Customers would walk through locked doors.
  • Customers - Customer names were no longer showing due to a fix to customer interactability when in range of the player for controller players.
  • Art - Trade fair was using the icon for traveling fair. It should now have a unique icon.
  • UI - It should now be possible to use crafting ingredients when overburdened if crafting results in not being overburdened.
  • UI - Character labels should no longer be showing when in character customization.
  • UI - The routine handling notifications was using scaled time and resulted in being paused while in the character customization menu.
  • Cosmetics - Starting a new game will now also show locked cosmetics.
  • Cosmetics - A new game should now always present a randomised unlocked appearance combination.
  • Achievements - The Shopkeeper achievement would not correctly trigger when loading a savegame that was already level 30.
  • Objectives - Count value objectives would not show progress text on first appearance.
  • Objectives - Count value objectives floored normalized progress resulting in the value always being 0.
  • Main Menu - Load Save Menu was using an old data struct instead of the new one.
  • Other - Loading a shop while overburdened should no longer allow you to run.

Character Customization Update

Greetings shopkeepers!

It's time to bring out the hidden fashionista in you, and get ready for character customization! With the latest Winkeltje: the Little Shop update you get to modify your look with 6 different outfits and a bunch of new colour combinations.

[h3]Character Customization[/h3]

It's very exciting to bring more character customization options to Winkeltje: the Little Shop. This feature evolved from initially having no options, to picking between two characters, and with today's update you get the ability to tweak even more facets of your shopkeeper's appearance. Customize things like your shopkeeper's type, hair, outfit, boots, and color options for each. From the start you get some options but more exciting looks and colors can be unlocked by progressing in the game.

[h3]Achievements[/h3]

It's been a long time in the making, but the first batch of achievements are finally here. We're starting out with 12. For some of those achievements, having an old save file where you met the requirements of the achievement may allow it to instantly complete as you load up the game. We will be adding more over time, so if you have ideas for achievements, don't hesitate to let us know!

  • Community Request - Character Customization - Added new scene for Character Customization and an in-shop mirror to access the Character Customization menu.
  • Character Customization - Added 94 cosmetics to the game.
  • Farming - Chamomile can now be farmed, seeds unlock at level 5.
  • Farming - Lavender can now be farmed, seeds unlock at level 10.
  • Community Request - UI - Added an option to switch between random item rotation or uniform item rotation on displays.

  • Other - Changed the way settings are saved.
  • Objectives - "Catering" objective now has a numerical tracker as well as a bar tracker.
  • Objectives - "Net Value" objectives now have a numerical and bar objective tracker.
  • Objectives - "Cash on Hand" objectives now have a numerical and bar objective tracker.
  • UI - Added reflection to sort/filter buttons.
  • Commission Board - Commission delivery now just deposits the money instead of throwing it on the floor.


[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Customers - Expanded the check to verify if a customer is already going home when an item is placed.
  • Customers - Customer budget was not correctly being modified by events.
  • Audio - Audio mixer channels could not be set in Awake call causing music mixer group settings to not apply when starting the game.
  • Player - Player would stop running when selling an item if "Always Run" was enabled.
  • Shop Builder - Added an additional check to make sure that there is no wall between the furniture and the access point.
  • Shop Builder - It should now be possible to edit walls while holding a button.
  • Furniture - Wide Adorned Shelf had their item slots switched around causing items to go into the wrong slot.
  • Furniture - Items placed on a Wide Elegant Shelf would clip into the shelf.
  • Unlocks - Alchemy Wide Bookshelves were not being unlocked as intended.
  • Optimization - Fixed unnecessary memory allocation in Farming HUD Manager.
  • Optimization - Removed memory allocation in MouseSelection.
  • Optimization - Removed memory allocation in checking if a scene is a test scene.
  • UI - Updated overhauled menus to use uniform scroll bar width.
  • UI - Clicking on an event to see the description will now pause the game.
  • UI - The task height of a GUI objective was not updated after setting the progression label text resulting in occasionally buggy line breaks.
  • UI - Accepting a commission would add the commisison items to the active commission instead of the floating commission. This made newly accepted commission appear to have double the commission items.
  • UI - Tasks would sometimes not be aligned.


[h2]Hotfixes[/h2]
  • Fix - Save file would crash when Node.canBuy was null.
  • Fix - Fireplace in character creator would not animate when accessed via the mirror.
  • Fix - Item info was rendering underneath the buy items menu.
  • Fix - Fixed an English translation error.
  • Fix - The character in the character creator should now center in the available space next to the menu.
  • Fix - Game would lock up if Steam for some reason decides to not connect.

New Alchemy Update Released

Greetings shopkeepers!

Customers from across the land have traveled far in search for ways to heal, cure, charm, seduce, and protect. The customer is king and so the shopkeeper has spent sleepless nights building, furnishing, and researching to produce ... The Alchemy Station!

Update Highlights

Yes, that's right! As of this update you are able to create alchemical items and use several new ingredients to satisfy the ever-growing demands of your clientele. With customers flocking to your shop, let's have a look at some of the new features that will surely impress and dazzle your consumers.

[h3]Alchemy[/h3]

Alchemy introduces 10 new craftable items and 4 new resources to use as ingredients. Some of the items you can look forward to are Healing Potions, Beauty Creams, and Cough Remedies. Of course, these products require ingredients with beneficial properties such as Chamomile, Lavender, Mandrake, and Sage.

[h3]Quick Restock[/h3]

Quick restocking has been improved by allowing you to restock pinned items without having to open the restocking menu. In addition, you can now also restock all pinned items in the radius of the player. On top of that, you can see which displays can be restocked by looking at the pulsating outline of displays.

[h3]Interaction Selection for Controller[/h3]

A previous update enabled controller functionality, letting players select which furniture would be picked up by holding the pick-up button. With this update we have extended this behavior to the interaction button. This means that when you hold the interaction button, you can specify what object you want to interact with.

  • Community Feedback - UI - Added a new warning message for when a player has enough items to deliver a commission, but does not have enough items of the required quality.

  • Objectives - The build button should now only become usable when at the appropriate step in the tutorial.
  • Shop Builder - Fixed error that would be thrown if the player was in build mode when hovering over a wall with the mouse and then using the right thumbstick to edit the wall.
  • Shop Builder - Fixed an error when the player would use a controller to Interact with the shop builder while it was hovering over a wall.
  • UI - The initial width value of the progress bar text on objective tasks did not have a default value resulting in an occasional text wrap issue.
  • UI - The shop save date should now also be localized.
  • UI - Long cases of "Shop Saved" translations should no longer appear underneath the time dial when saving the game during day time.

  • Other - Fences surrounding the shop weren't added to the season controller.
  • Prompts - Removed the options prompt because it's now a button in the bottom bar that also has a prompt for controller support.
  • Controls - NPCs would be the preferred interaction option when nearby if playing with controller due to the interactable class being enabled and muted.


Hotfix
  • Fix - Crafting Skill Points should now be calculated correctly when loading an older save in which the total amount of points changed.
  • Fix - Lavender was not included in the list of unlocks.
  • Fix - It was possible to walk away during crafting which would result in an error and a loss of resources.
  • Fix - An alchemy craft requiring a not yet unlocked ingredient would default to an icon that is no longer in the game.
  • Fix - Interacting with a crafting station using a controller would automatically start a craft if there was only one option and the crafting ingredients were available.
