Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition News

1v4 Online Multiplayer Available Now!

Hello hunters!

Before we all went home for Christmas, we invited you to take part in our 1v4 online multiplayer beta. After the success of the beta, we’ve decided to roll out the full 1v4 experience to everyone! So as of the latest update on Steam, you can play Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition online with up to 5 players.

We also support any configuration for online multiplayer as long as you’ve got at least 2 players, so 4 human hunters can try to take down 1 AI Dracula if none of you feel like playing as the Count!

You can find the full changelog for this update here:

Added
 • 4v1 online multiplayer is now out of beta
 • Online games now have text chat. The chat filter can be enabled/disabled locally in the settings
 • Added feedback to Spy when the target hunter has no item or event cards

 • Fixed an issue where the AI Hunters would sometimes move away from Dracula's location during the day phase
 • Fixed an issue with the AI Hunters not targeting Dracula's location when he is revealed if he moved onto the same location as another Hunter
 • Fixed resuming a game while Speedy Telegraph is in play temporarily locking the character seal buttons
 • Fixed combat being initiated with a hunter defeated by Szgany Bodyguard's mature effect
 • Fixed combat prompt text not appearing for all players
 • Fixed Dracula's Brides' ally effect not returning Dracula's action buttons
 • Fixed being unable to resume if a game is quit after Dracula has started placing Storm or Roadblock tokens, but before all have been placed

 • Fixed discard pile counters not showing the right value initially after loading a save file
What about chatting to each other during a game?
So as part of the 1v4 update, we’ve also added a dedicated in-game text chat feature for when you’re playing online!

With this new feature, you can coordinate with people online or taunt your foes as Dracula. This feature is available no matter how many people you’re playing online with, so next time you’re having a 1v1 showdown, feel free to let Dracula know just how much you’re onto his trail.

This text chat function will also be massively helpful when we release the mobile version of the game with cross-play, as we need to make sure people on different platforms can communicate with each other easily. If you want more updates on the mobile version of Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition, the best way to do that is by following us on social media!
How can I stay updated on the game?
You can follow us on Facebook or Twitter for the latest updates, or join our lovely Discord to chat with other players and our development team! We’re also always open to feedback and ideas, so send them all our way!

And finally, we know this is a feature a lot of people have been asking for since the game launched, so we can’t wait to see what you all think of it! We’ve been working super hard to get it to you, and we appreciate all your patience. ːheartː

Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition - 1v4 Public Beta

Hello hunters!

We’re happy to inform you that we’re now opening up the beta version of 1v4 online multiplayer in Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition to anyone who has purchased the game and wants to help us!

We’ve been working hard on the 1v4 online multiplayer feature since we released the game on Steam, and we’ve made some amazing progress so far. However, as Christmas fast approaches we’re going to have less and less staff on hand to test new builds and roll out fixes for issues, which is why we’ve made the decision to open up a public beta over the holidays. This will give you all a chance to get your hands on the 1v4 multiplayer feature early, and also provide us with some valuable feedback for when we return in the new year.

We’re hoping that with all of you playing over the holidays, we’ll be able to come back in January to a comprehensive list of things that need fixing ahead of the final release for 1v4 online. We’ve set up a discussion on Steam where you can report your beta bugs, and we’ve also set up a new channel on our official Discord just for talking about the public beta.

If you don’t mind coming across issues and reporting them to us, you can jump on 1v4 now!

So, how do you get involved?

TO PLAY 1v4 ONLINE NOW:
 • Right click Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition in Steam
 • Go to Properties
 • Click Betas
 • Enter this code: furyofdracula
 • Select ‘open-beta’

It’s worth noting that if you’re on the beta version of Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition then you’ll only be able to play online with people who are also using the beta version. If you want to play with friends who aren’t using the beta version, make sure you revert back to the original version by going into Properties, then Betas again and selecting NONE!

Also, trying to fix 4v1 multiplayer issues can be complicated and time consuming so if you do run into any major issues (such as the game getting out of synchronisation, stuck on a dialog or not being able to perform actions) then please ensure that you provide as much information as possible about the problem when reporting it to us, including the player logs from all players involved renamed to clearly highlight for which characters they are for. You can find the player log files here - C:\\Users\\(your username)\\ AppData \\ LocalLow \\ Nomad Games \\ Fury of Dracula

Although this involves a little effort on your part, it will help us enormously with cross referencing the events that led up to the issue. You can send us player logs via [email protected] or through our Discord! Just be sure to tell us that you’re on the beta version, so we can properly categorise issues.

And finally, from everyone here at Nomad Games, many thanks for your patience and support over the last year - we hope you all have a lovely time this holiday season!

An Update on 1v4 Online!

Hello hunters!

As promised, I’ve got an update for you all regarding the ongoing work we’re doing to bring 1v4 multiplayer to you all in Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition. We know you’re all keen to get your hands on the update, which is why we want to keep you in the loop on how it’s coming along!
Internal Testing
Every day after lunch, we get 5 people from our team to sit down and play 1v4 online on the latest internal build for Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition that has 1v4 enabled. As the internal build is changing so often, playing it daily is important to make sure we can feedback on what has been fixed and what issues are still there. With our highly skilled QA team leading these sessions, they know exactly what to look for as well.

Thanks to all this testing, we’ve also been able to firmly confirm that our QA tester Stephen is the best Fury of Dracula player in the whole office. If we had to run some kind of Fury of Dracula tournament, he’d be the one we put forward!

We've also been able to recreate known issues to help narrow down what is causing bugs for our development team, which is a big help with development!
Current Development
Right now, Sam, our official Master of Everything Online, is working on getting 1v4 ready for you all. He’s already implemented a huge load of features, including problematic cards like ‘Speedy Telegraph’.

Whenever our internal testing encounters a bug, we make sure to throw all 5 player logs and save files at Sam so that he can identify what happened to each player, and where the error came from. For example, we encountered an error where AI hunters would move to different locations to different players - the game would then crash once it realised the mistake had been made and it got conflicting reports from different players. With the logs from every single player involved, we can narrow down the exact moment when the bug occurred, and get it fixed.

We’ve already made it so that while in the online lobby, you can see how many people are currently in a single room. Handy for when you want to see if 4 people are waiting for one more player!

As Sam has been doing so much great work, we’re happy to report that we now have most of the features we need to make sure online works with 5 players - which means we can start looking at bugs and gathering information on what currently doesn’t work!
Current Bugs
Speaking of bugs, right now trading between players causes the game to crash for everyone involved - there are a fair few steps involved in the trading process between the players doing the trade, and then making sure that the trade is properly reflected on every else’s games. We’re grabbing lots of player logs to see what is causing issues, which means we’re doing a great job of ironing out these bugs so far.

And while we have made Speedy Telegraph work in 1v4, using it to move to a location that is on the trail also causes a whole heap of issues that we need to resolve. Once we can identify what the game is doing differently when it’s a trail space, we can get to work on making sure it works correctly.
Closed Beta Rollout
As of Thursday, 3rd December, we’ve officially handed over a beta version of Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition to our closed beta testers that features 1v4 multiplayer. This will be a massive help in finding bugs and issues, and just generally giving feedback on how the feature performs.

Our beta testers were massively helpful during the run-up to Fury of Dracula releasing in November, and a lot of them have stuck around to continue helping us out - which we very much appreciate.
Public Beta Rollout
While we do have a good number of beta testers already, we’re well aware that there are a bunch of people who are itching to get their hands on 1v4 and help us iron out any bugs. We’re going to look into how feasible it would be for us to do a public beta, and if one would be needed.

We’ll keep you updated on what we decide to do, as it mainly depends on how development progresses!
5 Copies Bundle?
If Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition is going to be 5 player, it makes sense to put out a 5 player bundle right? Well, it would… but there are some problems with that.

The main one is that according to the lovely folk at Valve, most of these ‘multiple game’ bundles just get purchased by people looking to turn a profit by selling those extra copies on grey market reselling websites. So for the time being, we’re not going to be offering a discounted bundle that includes 4 giftable copies of the game.

So that is where we’re currently at! If you want to stay tuned for more updates, reach out to us on Twitter, Facebook or our official Discord! I’m also lurking in the Steam group chat for Fury of Dracula, if you want to reach out to me there!
