Version 2.0 discourse

Hey Blacksmith's,

After viewing comments from my recent update post for 0.1.2.055, I've decided to keep 2.0 available for players who have access to 1.0 for the moment. I understand that it would be a slap in the face for players that were waiting for 2.0 to be the successor of 1.0 and anyone that recently purchased 1.0 to access 2.0.
For the time being, I'll continue to deliberate on what to do with 2.0's future on this store and whether or not to create a new store page.

I apologize for any confusion and frustration this might cause for some of you.

Patch 0.1.2.055

Hey Blacksmith's,

I spent the last month trying to get the Alpha version up and running again and thankfully, this time, I was finally successful. Looks like all that time writing 2.0 was well spent. I was able to learn a few tricks with debugging more complex issues.

For the next updates I'll be focusing on nothing but bug fixes, changes and minor additions for this branch before porting it to the main branch. I will no longer be adding any more major features to this version since feature creep was becoming a problem and it was becoming never ending. I apologize I never got too add all the promised features for this version.

Unfortunately, I will also remove version 2.0 off this store page at the end of March and create a new Steam store page instead.

This update is only on the Beta branch. If you would like to play on this version,
 1. Right-Click on "My Little Blacksmith Shop" in your Steam Library.
 2. Select Properties.
 3. Click on the Betas Tab.
 4. Click the drop-down menu and choose "alphatest". This will download the new update.
 5. Click close.

 • Move wooden grips options to top of saw workbench.
 • Cubby Hole added to saw workbench.

 • Removed wagon locking items to the wagon when loading back into the level.
 • Customers have a higher likelihood to ask for items you have in stock.

Update 0.2.9.0

Hey Blacksmith's,

This update focuses primarily on fixing bugs with a few additions and changes.

Important note: Horses might still have issues with being reset when entering your save. I was able to stabilize the issue but I didn't test it extensively. If you purchased one and you need to exit your game, try to have the horse near your shop if possible.

Additionally, for anyone needing to view the Roadmap.

If you'd like to download the unstable version:
 1. Right click on the game in your Library.
 2. Select Properties.
 3. Navigate to Betas on the left hand side of the the window that opened.
 4. Left click on the drop down menu next to Beta Participation and select "Unstable".
 5. Close the window.
Patch Notes
**Additions/Changes**

 • Reading Home Maker DIY book will show as owned when viewing the same book in stores. So that you don’t accidently purchase the same book twice.
 • Adjusted the process for crafting weapon components from metal bars. The quality of your hammer now determines how many strikes are needed based on the metal bar’s quality. For example, the default hammer has a quality of 10. If you strike a metal bar with a quality of 5, only 2 hits are required. However, if the metal bar has a quality of 13, you will need 4 strikes to shape it into the desired weapon component.
 • Items you sell to the merchants will be available for repurchase in the buy tab.
 • Added option to donate 1,000 and 10,000c coin to the Town Hall.
 • Added few more mining nodes throughout the world including Mithril and Adamantine.
 • More landscape edits.

**Fixes**

 • Fixed an issue where quickly opening and closing the inventory would break the camera when headbob is disabled.
 • Fixed an issue where the camera would sway left and right when headbob is disabled.
 • Improved character rotation for a more natural feel with headbob enabled. The character will no longer glitch into the camera when spinning too quickly.
 • Adjusted male character animations when holding items like a torch, positioning them slightly out of the player’s field of view to prevent obstruction.
 • Fixed an issue preventing the creation of certain metals like Tin.
 • Fixed issue with customer holding on to their coin purse when forced to leave the shop. They will now drop in on the floor.
 • Adjusted anvil ui to follow the player at slightly further distance.
 • Buying in stores should properly update stock amount.
 • Merchant items stock now update server side. So if a friend buys or sells something in the stores, you’ll be able to see the stock update.
 • Should no longer be able to mount a horse when you die.
 • If you remove a weapon from sale that has a high price and the customer wants to barter, the exclamation above their heads will be removed.
 • Customers will leave the shop if they get frustrated with a barter.
 • Fixed issues with the reputation system. The max reputation for the next level wasn’t properly adjusting if you leveled down when losing reputation experience. Additional issue was if you went below 0 experience at reputation level 1, the experience value would set itself to the max experience value. So the experience value has been clamped to no longer try to subtract if we’re already at 0 experience at level 1.
 • The Delivery Man should now be better able to deliver to your hard to reach areas.
 • The Delivery Man should no longer linger around if for some reason he was unable to deliver your package.
 • Fixed issue with Clothing Merchant being stuck in ground.
 • Fixed issue with being able to walk thru your shop while riding your horse.
 • Fixed issue with one of the minigames not showing up on loaded games if completed.
 • Fixed issue with being able to sprint infinitely.
 • Fixed issue with being unable to complete a few of the puzzles.

Update 0.2.8.0

Hey Blacksmith's,

Notable changes and additions:

I've re-enabled the skills system and fixed several bugs with its functions, making it work more reliably.

Customers are now smarter and more determined. They'll make a greater effort to reach your shop and find the items you're selling.

You will now see detailed information on each weapon rack, including what you're selling, the price of each item, and how much extra you're charging customers.

Ending support for 1.0 and future of 2.0

Hey everyone,

I made the decision today after monitoring user feedback and engagement that it's best to sunset version 2.0 unstable build from 1.0 Steam store as it was not well received by the community. Trying to make 2.0 similar to the first one was a mistake on my end and it shows that I did not understand what you enjoyed. I apologize for that.
I'll remove 2.0 at the end of February for the few of you that would like to play it a bit longer.

Additionally, because I am no longer able to update and support 1.0, I've taken it out of Early Access. I'll leave the Steam Store page up for those that still want to buy and play 1.0. I'll continue to monitor feedback for the next course of action.
(I'll take another look at the 1.0 files and see if I can fix the cooking pot spawning in the ground, although no promises.)

I'm still deciding as what to do with 2.0 since it doesn't seem to be well liked. I did put 2 years or so into making it so I don't want to abandon it. I'll consider building a new Steam store page if enough people want it, otherwise. I might drop development on it entirely.

On that note. Thank you everyone for buying and playing the game. It was stressful but fun working on this project and I would not have been able to get this far without your support. I apologize I was not able to implement everything on the list. I should simplified the list.

Take care.
