We're super excited to announce that The Unliving is due to take part in the Steam Next Fest next week, on February 22nd! We'll be celebrating this with a Steam Broadcast of us playing The Unliving, starting at 6pm GMT!

Make sure you set a reminder for our event and head over to the Steam Store page for The Unliving next tuesday to watch as we transform our enemies into our undead army in the updated version of the demo!

Hey, Necromancers! Thanks a lot for playing our demo and leaving a lot of thorough feedback - it will be super helpful for further development.

After the last demo update, we have been fully focused on the main game, although the demo stays available for everyone on Steam. If you didn't have a chance to try it and fill in the questionnaire - don't hesitate to do that. The Early Access launch date will be announced closer to the release, but nothing has changed on that matter - we are still aiming for the first half of 2022.

Demo Update #3

Hey, Necromancers! As more and more people discover our demo, we have rolled out another update to improve the experience from The Unliving.

Improvements:
- Added mouse sensitivity setting.
- Reduced delays between Necromancer's movement and attacks (as much as possible for now)

Fixes:
- Fixed cursor to keep it from going out of window bounds
- Fixed errors, typos, inaccuracies in the game texts
- Fixed a bug in the game finale, leading to the inability to call the menu
- Fixed a bug with missing prices in resources
- Fixed a bug that made undead health bars always visible
- Fixed a bug causing overlapping of dialogs with tutorial windows
- Other minor fixes

Demo Update #2

Hey, Necromancers! We've updated the demo with some critical bug fixes and UX improvements. Here's the changelog:

Improvements:
- Reduced the amount of screen blurring at low health
- Added a background image to the menu if the video does not load
- Removed recommendation to restart the game on errors
- Added a window explaining demo version limitations
- Small UI improvements

Fixes:
- Fixed invisible enemies and subsequent destabilization of the entire game
- Fixed a bug with the missing description of a replacing item in the essences window
- Fixed an issue where additional resources would not be generated
- Mortar can now be a target for summoned objects
- Technical bug fixes
- Minor location fixes

Balance tweaks:
- BoneWeighting - Does not consume extra bones.
- BoneReinforcement - Buff lasts much longer
- Exoskeleton - Now protects one target, solidly and long (as intended).
- Bloodcrust - Now only protects a few nearby targets, not the entire horde.
- Fireworks - Detonates fewer bones, but does a lot more damage.
- Negative Energy - Deals more damage.
- StarEcho - Deals more damage
- Calcium surplus, PowerOverwhelming, HematicSurplus - Now generate more resources.
