Shadows of Doubt Steam Workshop

[p]Hi Detectives![/p][p]The Shadows of Doubt Steam Workshop is now live![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Stretch your creative muscles as well as your detective ones with new modding tools and full Steam Workshop support.[/p][p][/p][p]These new workshop tools allow you to create your own citizen conversations, v-mails and newspaper articles. Change certain in-game item properties like weapons, books and consumables.
[/p][p]The Dialogue & Player Interactions system functionality has been expanded to enable players to create new citizen interactions, enabling the creation of side quests and similar new objectives.[/p][p][/p][p]All of your mods can then be uploaded directly to the Steam Workshop and managed by the in-game mod menu.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Full outlines on the new modding tools, with instructions on how to start creating your own, can be found HERE[/p][p][/p][p]For those who want to go “off the record” and delve deeper into the unofficially supported modding tools, take a look at the Advanced Modding documentation HERE.[/p][p][/p][p]This update also brings new bug fixes and QoL improvements too!   • [p]Updated DDS editor which can now be used to add player-citizen interactions and rudimentary side quests similar to the shoe collector from the ‘off duty’ update.[/p]
  • [p]Expanded the official modding scope: You can now modify some in-game things like items, weapons, books and décor colour schemes.[/p]

  • [p]Fixed: Rebind menu animates in and out of existence properly.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Rebind menu back button now returns to control settings instead of the general settings panel.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Buttons in the controls rebind menu did not have non-English localization applied.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Ceiling fans not animating in some cases.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Rare bug when retrieving v-mail sender could case an internal error resulting in weird game behaviour.[/p]

It is crazy to think that almost a whole year of investigation has passed since the Steam Awards 2024! [/p][p][/p][p]We are back again, this time for Steam’s “Labor of Love” award. The Labor of Love award highlights games that have kept expanding even after release.[/p][p][/p][p]There have been 2 content updates this year, along with more patches and fixes. You have spent time chilling out and hunting shoes in the “Off-Duty” update. You scuttled through the darkness as the Rat Detective. All while avoiding a killer snail, hellbent on your demise in the “Modifiers” update! Amongst many more new ways to play.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you all so much for sticking with us and the game. We appreciate all of your support. We are also very grateful for all the feedback, bug reports and suggestions you have had for the game. [p]Hello detectives! [/p][p][/p][p]We have a brand new update for you all with a bunch of fixes. Check out the specifics below;[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Revamped camera image saving system; photographs you take in game now should be completely accurate when you load save games as we have switched to a system that saves image data to disk.[/p]

  • [p]Fixed: Crime scene tape appearance is now represented properly in CCTV images.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Player is now visible again when crouched during actor sighting check.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Player collider sizes could not set correctly when switching between rat/non-rat modes (could result in weird crouched movement).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: CCTV did not capture the state of some doors correctly.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Bug with security laser systems not being able to detect citizens/player as well as they should.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Spawned-in sentry guns while alarm triggered could appear inactive when they should be active.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Doors that could contain physics objects now animate in the Fixed Update loop to avoid physics oddities.[/p]

I didn't think there were many ways to make Shadows of Doubt a better detective game—aside from giving the whole thing a vigorous polish. ColePowered Games' sleuthing simulator procedurally generates an entire city's worth of crimes to solve, somehow creating genuine deduction puzzles out of a bucketful of random numbers. Granted, it also tends to create a lot of bugs and dead ends in the process. But when Shadows of Doubt works, it's one of the best games ever made...
