Hello stalkers!

Today we have some more information for you about things that we’ve already mentioned before. So first, let us ask you: do you use stealth kills? Or are you just like Rambo and prefer to shoot your way out of every situation?

We have something just for you if you play cautiously, hiding in the shadows and taking out enemies one by one, or if you love mayhem and you leave a track of empty ammo shells behind every time.

[h3]Stealth can be a perfect solution[/h3]

As you may remember from a previous Weekly Report, we are working on the stealth kills system. If you’ve already used it, you probably realized that Igor loses his psyche when he kills his enemies. His mental condition, as well as other stalkers in his base (e.g. Olivier or Olga), is a very important factor. Especially when it comes to the missions - lower psyche level means lower chances of success.

And we are working on more brutal, but equally effective stealth kill. Igor will use his knife to quickly eliminate his enemy. In the future that will be Igor’s “standard” stealth kill. Bloody, messy and quite loud. That’s why he will lose his psyche. And what you see right now in the game will be an “upgraded” stealth kill, that will be quieter and will have smaller impact on our main character’s mental health. Check the comparison between those two stealth kills:

- the current one, but an upgraded stealth kill in the future:





Rambo-like gameplay
Well, you may know that Igor is neither a soldier nor a young guy. He can shoot, he can learn to be better at it, but he is not a typical stalker. He’s a scientist. That’s why he can be easily killed for example by NAR soldiers if he faces too many of them.




But if you like to shoot, to use every gun you can find in game, you’ll be happy to hear that the big overhaul in base building and weapon modification is getting closer! We can’t yet tell you when precisely, but stay tuned.

We did a lot of streams during Mega Patch release week and you seemed to like it. We had a lot of fun doing it and we really love that you've asked us so many questions! So we thought it would be good to make it a regular activity.




That's why today is a special day: it will be the first time we're doing a themed livestream! Of course, we will show you regular gameplay, but the main focus will be on customizing the weapons. Especially soon enough there will be a lot of new possible modifications! But let's keep it a secret, at least for now, okay?

We hope you’re really enjoying Pripyat Central and already have visited amusement park and Lenin Square! Even though we released this “Web of Lies” recently, don’t think we stopped working on other upgrades! Besides working hard on next Mega Patch called “Black Stalker”, we’ll also add new fixes and improvements soon.

Just sit comfortably and check out what are we planning to do!



[h3]Base renovation![/h3]
Lot of you wrote that you’re waiting for new base improvements, like new workstations or furniture. So you’ll be happy to hear that soon you’ll be able to do a huge base overhaul!

On the screenshot below you can see multiple objects that are currently being prepared to be included in Chernobylite. But also some objects that you already know will be improved. You may remember our base-building contest which we organized in April. So soon enough you’ll be able to create even better looking safe house for Igor and his companions.




New portal transitions

We know that you didn’t particularly like the transitions which you would see when travelling in the Zone. These portals created by Igor’s special gun open so he can escape from different locations or quickly move between them.

Right now, we’re working on using lots of our footage we’ve taken when visiting Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (but not only THAT footage) to make these transitions look a lot better. Check out the animation below - do you like it more that current one?




Regular streams incoming

So we’ve heard that you liked our live streams and the possibility to talk with us directly. We were always very happy to have a direct contact with you, guys, but answering your questions while on the air was a fun experience for us.

We want to share with you our point of view on the development of Chernobylite, but also to show you how we enjoy our own game! So we’ve decided to make it a regular thing. For now, we’re aiming to do them every week and next time will be this incoming Monday, June the 8th. This time it’ll be a themed stream: all about weapons and upgrades!

• We fixed problems with missing voice overs and localization in soldier chatters

• We fixed the bug with blocked quick use after using revolver knuckles upgrade
  
• The Borderer AI problem that caused monsters gathering in large groups on the levels should be now solved.

There has been a lot going on lately, right? Have you already checked out what we’ve added in the recent “Web of Lies” Mega Patch? It has been the fourth one on our roadmap. Here’s how it looks right now:



That also means that we have completed half of the content we’ve promised to deliver during Early Access. So right now we’re headed towards another milestone: “Black Stalker” Mega Patch.

Our developers team is working very hard, but this could not happen without your support. Your feedback, opinions, reviews (even these negative ones!), ideas. We really appreciate the time you spent to write us, to leave a comment, a post. We’re very happy you’re here with us, no matter if you bought our game, still considering or just interested in what we have to say. Thanks for being here!



[h3]So what’s new?[/h3]

As all Mega Patches, the “Web of Lies” introduced huge amount of new content. Missions, locations, fixes. You can check the changelog here:

But let us just remind you what have we added! You can experience beautiful scariness of the decaying area of Pripyat Center. It’s an iconic amusement park with so well-known Ferris wheel. Bit dark and destroyed Polissya Hotel. Mysterious Energetik and completely changed Lenin Square.

Yes, you can sink into the Lenin Square, which was changed into a huge NAR base. That means visiting this place isn’t going to be easy for Igor. Lots of soldiers… and some secrets to be discovered. Let us say it’s not JUST a military base. Will you take a risk and try to find out what NAR has been doing there?



There’s another completely new location: the Fractal World! You can visit it during a new investigation named “Web of Lies”. But we’ve also added a lot more events to Red Forest area. This means Igor can now find himself in several new situations. Some of them will need to make tough calls. As always, life in this postapocalyptic world is not easy nor cheerful.

We’ve also added 4 new missions! Some of them are a continuation of previously existing chains and also a completely new one with a new recruitable character, young Olga. If you will do the mission as she likes, she can join your cause - help Igor during his tough task to find what has happened to the love of his life, Tatyana.



Besides new content, we’re working constantly on fixes and optimization. That’s why since this Mega Patch, Chernobylite has a DirectX 12 support! Thanks to our cooperation with AMD, you can also use FidelityFX options (these can be turned on / off in the menu). Another good information is that FidelityFX works with different graphic cards, regardless of the manufacturer.

If you want to see how the game looks now, you can always look out for our developer streams on Steam. We will be streaming today and during the weekend, so don’t hesitate to join and ask us any questions! That will be a perfect opportunity to learn more about Chernobylite.
