Version 0.40.3 - Challenges are actually possible now
Fixes & Improvements
• The following challenges have been neutered in difficulty and should actually be possible to beat on Insane now:
-- Shortcuts
-- Forest Peninsulas
-- Poisoning the Forest
-- Basics: Expendables
• Fixed a bug where, after playing a solo online game, the checkbox for "Offline/Online" would be flipped.
• Fixed a bug where the screen would flicker each time you exited an online game.
• Added a confirmation prompt for restarting the game in singleplayer.

Version 0.40.2 - More Hotfixes
Improvements
• In Quick Play, all options now default to "Any". This means you can boot up the game and just hit "Find Game", without having to change any settings.
-- This should drastically improve the frequency of finding other games.
-- You're welcome to still rig your settings up, but if you don't care and just want to play, just hit "Find Game" without changing anything.
• When the host leaves a lobby, it unreadies everyone.
-- This fixes a bug where the lobby could end up bugged out, and people could join an in-progress game.
• In Singleplayer, your choices for Elements is just between Pick and Random now.
• Doubled the amount of path indicators.
• Leaderboard scroll speed increased.
• Leaderboard entries no longer display Interest & Essences that are 0.
• In-game loading timeout in multiplayer decreased from 120 seconds to 60 seconds.
Bug Fixes
• Fixed a bug where the in-game chat would have everyone spamming the text "HEARTBEAT".
• Fixed Autumn Map's second exit being slightly offset.
• Fixed in-game chat scrollbar being reversed.
• Fixed hover-over tooltip in Settings getting stuck on your screen and never going away.

Version 0.40.1 - Server Stability
Fixes
• Red text error log no longer shows up in the bottom-left corner.
• Improved server stability, decreasing the chances of disconnects.
-- Note, this does increase input lag. We'll be trying to optimize this over time, ideally reducing disconnects and input lag.
• You can no longer join a game that's in-progress.
• Difficulty now lists Score Multipliers in the tooltip.

Release Update!

Element TD 2 is finally going public today! Spread the word, tell your friends, and especially invite your enemies, so that you can trounce them yourself!

This update contains the combined changelogs of Version 0.39 and 0.40
Features
• Main Menu has a fancy new backdrop!
• The game has been optimized:
• The initial boot-up might end up slower than before, but in-game loading speeds should be much faster than before, even if you're on a HDD.
• This should result in a much more stable online experience and prevent infinite hangs on loading online games.
• Servers have also been optimized. Playing online should be considerably more stable than before.
• You can now directly invite your friends to a Lobby!
• If your friend is in a Lobby, you can also join them without an invitation. Just open the Steam Overlay, right-click your friend, and hit Join Game.
• Note, it will use the host's Region & Cross Region settings, so via this method, you don't have to align region settings to join a friend. However, we recommend it for a more stable playing experience.
• 4 New Challenges have been added!
Improvements
• Menus now quickly fade in and out, instead of instantly appearing and disappearing.
• Added new icons for tower stats.
• Essence Cost is now noted in the upgrade tooltips for Tier 4 Singles & Periodic Tower.
• The game's Music Selection has been updated.
-- Two of the heavier, upbeat tracks were removed, as they felt out of place.
-- Seven new tracks have been added.
• When someone dies or disconnects, their name is now colorized, and it's listed in the game chat.
• Tweaked a number of hover-over tooltips in the in-game UI such that they no longer hang to the side.
• Updated Cross Region tooltip to clarify what exactly it does.
• Wisp Tower now has a new base, instead of a flattened version of Well Tower, just in time for release!
• Flamethrower Tower is now on fire to account for its lack of animation. Hopefully it doesn't explode on you!
Bug Fixes
• Fixed a bug where Leaderboard entries recorded the player index incorrectly, resulting in a different replay than intended.
-- Unfortunately, this isn't retroactive.
-- As a result, all existing Leaderboard entries have been nuked.
• Fixed a bug where if you played a game of Extreme Mode and then tried playing a Challenge afterwards, it would soft-lock the game.
• Fixed Fire Tower Level 3 not animating while idle.
• Fixed Wisp Tower's AoE not updating in real-time when selecting the tower.
• Fixed the "spash" typo.
• Fixed a typo on Impulse Tower where it actually stated "the further the damage, the greater the damage".
Balance
• Solar damage and damage-per-second increased from 75 / 300 / 1200 to 80 / 320 / 1280

Version 0.38 - Quick Play, F2, and other Improvements
Features
• Quick Play added! Set your modes, hit "Find Game", and if you find other people playing the same settings, you'll be on your way to a new game!
• The game will wait up to 60 seconds. If don't find a game within that time, the game bounces you back.
• Note that until the game officially releases, this feature is admittedly kind of useless.
• Pressing F2 now bounces your camera to other players' zones, instead of their builders.
Improvements
• The Tower Table has gotten a little reskin and should be sleeker than before.
• Hovering over an upgrade you don't have access to will now display the tooltip.
• When a lobby fills up all the way, it will now automatically start, regardless of if everyone's Ready or not.
-- We'll update this later so it doesn't trigger in Private Lobbies.
• Updated Geyser's water shader, this should hlep optimize the tower, though it'll still get laggy if you get more than 30 on-screen at once.
• When someone quits or disconnects from a game, their quit message is now posted in the chat, and their name is colorized.
• During a Server Pause, the Menu button no longer shows up on-screen.
Bug Fixes
• Fixed a bug where the game would tell you Victory! even if you had lost.
• Fixed a bug where the game completion message would trigger for everyone each time someone cleared Wave 55.
• Fixed a bug where you could kick someone in a lobby after the countdown starts.
• Fixed the random box covering part of your view when you were dead.
• Fixed certain buttons on the Main Menu not making a sound.
• Fixed Life Tower's tooltip listing "kils" instead of "kills".
• Fixed a bug where Builder & Elemental Text would invert colors when in the top-left corner of the screen.
• In-game Scroll, Zoom, & Rotate sliders now reduce to a minimum of 10%, matching the Main Menu versions.
• Potentially fixed a bug where you could hang infinitely on the loading screen.
-- If you run into this bug still, please let us know.
