Spiteclaw's Swarm flood the battlefield

A new warband approaches!


Hello lost souls!

We have another major update for you today which involves a lot of additional features to the game. But the biggest is the addition of our newest warband, Spiteclaw's Swarm!

This has been in the works for a bit, but we've seen and heard the feedback loud and clear. Players are wanting more content. So we're bringing you another warband.

This means that for full release of the game, player's will be receiving 6 warbands and Early Access players will be receiving alternative skins for each!


[h2]Spiteclaw's Swarm[/h2]
  • Swarm the board with this Skaven warband, led by Skritch Spiteclaw and his second in command Krrk the Almost-Trusted; as they ravage the city of Shadespire seeking artefacts, trinkets, loot and escape.

  • Each of the Skaven fighters become Inspired when a player chooses to play a ploy on that fighter.

  • Tactical players will absolutely love this warband; with ploys and objectives that encourage losing fighters, it doesn’t matter as the Skaven are abundant in numbers! Spiteclaw can choose to return fighters to the field!

[h3]New Warband: Spiteclaw's Swarm[/h3]
As announced in one of our previous streams and on our Discord, we are adding another warband to our roster! We know how much you’ve wanted this. The sixth warband to be included in Warhammer Underworlds: Online is your favourite Ratmen - the Skaven’s very own Spiteclaw’s Swarm.

[h3]Progression[/h3]
We have added an initial pass of a faction progression system. Each warband will have a track of unlockable cosmetics. The player will unlock these by gaining experience from matches. Winning a match gives the most XP, losses give less, and concedes give no XP to the conceding player.
  • Unlockables! Added unlockable warband skins, player titles, and deck portraits
  • Implemented a new menu area for seeing warband-specific progression tracks
  • Added Cosmetic tabs to the deck builder to equip player titles and deck portraits
  • Added game statistic tracking, which can be found in the progression menu


Tutorial - Tutorials have been updated to be clearer and more explanatory
- Added Tutorial #3 which takes players through a complete match

Environment
- Matches will now randomise their environment

Timeouts - Implemented concession by timeout: If a player has 3 consecutive timeouts, the server will concede the match and the other player will win

[h3]Bug Fixes & Small Changes[/h3]
General Bug Fixes
- Fixed some networking issues that were causing player's decisions to crash the game. The server will now wait for a response from the player that they have started a decision before starting the timer

Card Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where No Respite could crash a match
  • Invisible Walls now only affects base movement characteristic, instead of affecting other modifiers
  • Second Wind no longer continues triggering after round end
  • Fixed multiple cards that had 'On Crit' effects that wouldn't go off on re-rolled Crits, such as Shadeglass Spear, Starfalcon, Lightning Blade, Focused Attack & Hakka/Basha
  • Fixed a bug where killing a fighter with Lightning Blast causes a non-progression
  • Fixed Daemonic Resilience not working when trapped
  • Fixed More Able Bodies and Lives are Cheap from being unable to score if they aren't scored first
  • Invisible Walls now discards at the start of the Power Phase, and also only affects base movement value, not upgraded values
  • No Respite, Fatal Strike, and Last Lunge now only trigger post-damage increment. This should fix all previous issues of these cards triggering when enemy fighters weren't going to die
  • Updated Gorefist, Furious Blow, and Fatal Riposte to check if the attacker is dead before the Reaction goes off

[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
  • The Spiteclaw’s Swarm upgrade card Expendable will be added when it is functioning and stable. For now, it has not been included
  • The Spiteclaw's Swarm ploy card Momentary Boldness can cause a non-progression if the player using it allows it to time out when choosing and confirming their Charge action
  • Tutorials are currently not localised - we have translations on the way for all supported languages
  • Player rank text currently does not display changes in rank. Your rank does change behind the scenes, though
  • Cancelling out of matchmaking too quickly will take you to the progression screen. If you select matchmaking again it will force you to the progression screen constantly. Restarting the app should stop this, and it won't happen if you are on the matchmaking screen for more than a few seconds
  • If a player concedes due to timeouts, the winner's victory screen won't show the UI. Returning to the main menu should return everything to normal, and this bug doesn't affect progression/stat recording

Universal Card Release 02



Hello players!

Our second Universal Card Update is here! You'll be getting 18 new cards to add to your decks.

All you need to do is update and launch your game! There you will be presented with a Universal Card Pack, which when clicked, will gift you with the cards, straight into your deck builder. You'll also be able to see the list of new cards on our Bulletin Board in the start menu screen.

[h2]Card Showcase[/h2]

TOTAL ANNIHILATION

Feeling confident with your aggro deck? Dominate your enemy and take out all enemy fighters within the first two rounds for SEVEN Glory! This is one of the highest scoring cards in Warhammer Underworlds history.

SPOILS OF BATTLE

This ploy can turn the tides at the start of a battle, allowing the player to use an upgrade without Glory. Even after Round One, Activation One, upgrade your fighter for early strategies.

ACROBATIC

A great upgrade for defensive deck, this card allows you to roll an extra dice for those who need it most.

Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue with ranked matchmaking giving the wrong ranking result
- The Farstriders customisation options (skins) now appear correctly in the Customise Fighter menu
- Bone Shrapnel and Deathly Charge no longer skip reactions

Coming Soon: Hotfix for Currently Known Issues

- Trap (-ped as a Ghost!) - If Trap is used to deal the final point of damage needed to take out a fighter, the defending fighter's model will remain on the battlefield. The attacking player will still get glory, and other fighters will still be able to move on to the hex the fighter is/was occupying. The dead fighter just stays there...

Bug Fixes
+ Fixed an issue with Ranked mode not giving shards after winning a match.
+ Fixed a game crashing bug with Steelheart's Champions AI.
+ The Farstriders 'Anvils of the Heldenhammer' skin will now appear in matches.
+ Farstriders Ploy - Retribution - Fixed an issue with this card not triggering when it should.
+ Farstriders Ploy - Steady Volley - Fixed this card not calculating charges correctly for fighters with Shadestep or Aetheric Step
+ Universal Ploy - Total Offence - Fixed this card being usable multiple times during the same activation or power step.

Known Issues
+ Bulletin: The New Cards bulletin post is currently not showing the last Universal Card Release
+ Menu Buttons: Rarely, buttons for Casual Play and Bot Match will be disabled. Restarting the game will fix this, though.
