Announcement: New features and upcoming update info!

Hi everyone,

We hope you're staying safe out there. We wanted to check in and wish you all a Happy Blood Trail Birthday -- one year since the Early Access release! We'd like to thank you for your input and support and also a HUGE thanks to our mods and admins.
We're pleased to share our plans for the latest upcoming updates which will include tons of new features, fixes, and QOL improvements.

Next update: (Due Late March - Early April)

  • New localized blood effects on enemies. Blood spatters around the body as you shoot them.
  • Unlimited gore effects. Previously limited to ten.
  • Blood runs down walls.
  • New enemy outfits.
  • New shotgun pump sounds.
  • Additional weapon balancing


Ahead:
  • Completely revamped hand system with full collision and interaction improvements.
  • Physical melee on par with the very best VR has to offer including empty handed combat, bludgeons, environmental weapons and BLADED WEAPONS!
  • Improvements to gun handling mechanics, weight, and interactions.
  • Revamped controls.

Features
  • Added 3 all new weapons: AKS-74u, Vector, and pipe bombs.
  • Added weapon loadout menu to Basement and Sandbox.
  • Weapons are now always visible on your person.
  • Rebalanced weapon damage.
  • Ammo pickups are now a single type which refills all ammunition.


Changes
  • Grip button can now be held down to stabilize. Stabilization toggle has been removed.
  • Grip button now also used to grab weapons/crack/ammo from inventory.
  • Various minor cosmetic changes to Basement, Apartment, and Sandbox.
  • Pistol can now be stabilized again by holding the off-hand close to the grip.
  • Shotgun ammo is now unlimited. Other regen times vary per weapon.
  • Shotgun shell-in sound updated.
  • Updated navmesh modifiers to allow enemies to climb rocks if necessary in Raid.


Fixes
  • Shotgun now ejects empty shells after firing.
  • Fixed issue where stabilizing the shotgun would cause the pellets to be blocked.
  • Fixed spot in Believer where the player could get stuck.
  • Collision improvements on rocks in Raid.
  • Slight performance optimizations.

To access the experimental branch, locate Blood Trail in your Steam library. Right click on it, and select properties. Click on the BETAS tab, and select the experimental branch from the drop down menu. An update for Blood Trail should queue.

  • New bullet impact effects. (Not all objects produce the correct response yet. This will get better with subsequent updates.)
  • More gore effects can be triggered simultaneously now. Shotgun blasts deal more visual damage.

  • Fixed a glitch where enemy pistol would not appear until being fired.
  • Enemy weapons now properly collide with environment when dropped.
  • Fixed faulty enemy spawn in Raid level 8.

RAID RELEASE

Update v0.2

Features
  • Added all new game mode, Raid.
  • Added enemy AI improvements
  • Smoking crack will now enter you into "crack time" where you will experience a brief burst of 4x slow motion! Crack time can also be entered with the off-hand shoulder button on Vive, and by clicking the thumb stick upwards on Oculus.
  • Two new enemy types: Stationary pistol shooters and unarmed, innocent people.
  • Ammo Regeneration: Ammo will now replenish itself in your fanny pack over time. Regen times vary from weapon to weapon.
  • Replaced ragdoll timer with max ragdolls control to basement settings menu. (CHECK THIS SETTING BEFORE YOU PLAY!)


Changes
  • Some shooter enemies will now use the environment to find cover.
  • Added new enemy pistol aiming animation and offset.
  • Improved watch face and added mission specific information (direction/distance to waypoint + obj. remaining).
  • Improved watch menu design and effects.
  • Added bullet impact sound effects.
  • Arena mode now begins with executing an unarmed person.
  • Gore effects happen from further distances now.
  • All weapons start locked and loaded
  • Temporarily disabled two handed stabilization for the pistol
  • Aggressive refinements to the graphics presets. Different presets now make a more noticeable difference in both visuals and performance.



Fixes
  • Fixed a glitch that resulted in the AR-10 not chambering correctly for some players
  • Minor fixes/alterations to several Raid outpost buildings
  • Other small optimizations and improvements added as well.
  • Snap turning can now be performed by pushing the thumbstick on Oculus or touching the thumbpad on Vive.
  • Various performance optimizations and bug fixes.
