[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Dear Explorers,

We made it! Curious Expedition 2 is leaving Early Access today. We'd like to thank once again all the players who supported us during the past few months and shared their feedback with us: you really helped us create a much better game.

To celebrate the launch, we've put the game on 10% discount for a week, so if you haven't joined the adventure yet, this is an excellent time to do it. Make sure to check out the Curious Expedition 1 & 2 Collection Bundle for an additional discount.

As we said before, please remember that this version 1.0 is not the "final" version of the game: we're already working on content updates to be released in the upcoming months.

Curious Expedition 2 review

Just as I'm about to nod off, a heated argument erupts around the campfire. Not to worry, I think, as I ignore them and close my eyes. Should have worried. The next morning I awake to find one of the arguers rocking back and forth in a stupor, having just cannibalised the other. Okay. Let's, um, march on, shall we? A few days later, an ally morphs into a flesh-eating ghoul. Another slips on a rock and cracks their head, losing the knowledge of vital skills. One fella just leaves. All this, just to acquire an orchid.

The Curious Expedition 2 is, at its heart, a machine for making rip-roaring adventure stories about heroic exploration and/or colonial plundering, depending on how generous you want to be to developers Maschinen-Mensch. It creates some fun narratives, like the one above. But it’s also a roguelike, and it really makes you bleed for them. If I’m honest, I wish it was a little more forgiving.

Final Club Competition during Early Access with exclusive reward

Dear Explorers,

As announced last week, Curious Expedition 2 version 1.0 will launch on January 28th. For the last Club Competition during the Early Access period we decided to give as a reward an exclusive equippable hat which will never appear again as a reward in the future. This is a small way for us to say "thank you" to everyone who has supported us before the 1.0 release.

Here's the Laurel Wreath:
FAQ
Is this hat providing any advantages while playing the game?
No, all hats which are rewarded as part of the weekly Club Competition are purely cosmetic, they don't affect your in-game abilities in any way.

When is this Club Competition running?
The Club Competition has already started and will end on January 28th at 11am CET.

What is the goal of the current Club Competition?
The goal is to collect and return crystals to Paris. To find crystals you need to seek contact with mole people, the miners of the curious islands, which you can meet in the cavern biomes, that are unlocked in 1888.

What do I have to do in order to win the hat?
First of all, in order to participate you need to visit one of the three Explorer Clubs in Paris and select Join Competition. This option will only be unlocked once you've reached the year 1887 in the game (completing the first story expedition) at least once. Once the Club Competition ends, if the Explorer Club you joined is the one that has returned the highest amount of crystals you will automatically receive the hat.

What happens if the Explorer Club I joined doesn't win the competition?
As long as you joined the Club Competition and returned at least 1 crystal to Paris, you will be able to purchase the hat (in exchange for 20 tickets) until February 9th at 11am CET. After this date, the Laurel Wreath hat will never appear as a reward again in the game.

Can I switch to a different Explorer Club while the Club Competition is running?
No, once you joined one of the Explorer Clubs for the Club Competition, you won't be able to switch to a different Explorer Club until the competition has ended.

Good luck!
