Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.8.0 - New Mission Update!

Hey, it's finally time for a new update. Sorry that it took a bit too long to release this one. The update adds a new mission, couple cool improvements to the night mode, and bunch of other changes and fixes. Please let me know if you spot some weird bugs after the update.

New content:
  • Added a new mission, Tower Affair

New features:
  • Added a night vision (Default key 'N'). Not just makes screen green, but also adds some glow to characters to make them clearly visible in dark surroundings
  • Sleeping enemies can now be found on beds and sofas, waiting for a throwing knife to their faces (Night only)
  • If the player is in shadows, enemies need to see him for up to couple seconds before they detect. The required time is based on distance. Enemies are also less likely to detect dead bodies in shadows. (Night only)
  • Interactable items to turn off building lights. Currently there is a computer in Tower Affair mission that can be used to turn off the lights in the Tower. Planning to add fuse boxes etc. to another maps also. (Night only)
  • Teammates can now quick commanded to move with F1-F3 keys

Fixes and improvements:
  • Removed the enemy health bonus from multiplayer. Was max +25% in 4 player game. It made balancing weapons etc. unnecessary complex.
  • Eliminate target enemies can now be in camping mode, where they move to a room and start staring at a door instead of rushing and getting killed. They can also spread this behavior to an another enemy to act as their guard.
  • Grenade throw is now toggle style. 'G' toggle and 'mouse left' to release.
  • Switches now automatically to the next available grenade if out of currently selected grenade after throwing a grenade.
  • Computer screens are now randomized to be on/off. And if on they turn off when shot. Also all interactable computers turn On when interacting.
  • Used throwing knives pickups are now less likely to spawn to unreachable locations.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a throwing knife to push the targeted enemy back if the knife hits the floor before enemy and slides to the enemy's feet.
  • Removed the negative damage modifier when throwing a knife while crouched.
  • Fixed a bug that caused melee attacks with a weapon without a suppressor make more "noise" to be heard by enemies than a weapon with the suppressor.
  • Fixed a bug causing a late joining client player to see broken windows intact if they were broken before the client joined the game.
  • The player character's rotation is now more stable while moving on stairs.
  • Made some sound effects play with lower volume if there are sound blocking walls/floor between the player character and the sound's location.
  • Bullet tracers are now used multiple times instead of spawning a new one on every shot -> Can increase fps slightly when lots of shooting is going and the player has a low end hardware. Also increased the speed of tracers, and added a bit of randomization to size/color.
  • Fixed a bug that caused player to get stuck on ladders if pressing the dash button 'Space' while climbing. It can now also used to exit ladders instead of 'E'.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed interacting with mission objective items through walls if they were enough close.
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies potentially drop their stuff to the another side of the wall.
  • Fixed a bug that caused current magazine ammo to be discarded if the player had less spare ammo than a full magazine when reloading.
  • + Some additional small "fixes" not worth of mentioning.

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.7.5 - New Mission Update!

Hey, a new version is out and it contains a new mission. This update also adds easy to use throwing knives. Please let me know if you find any bugs, or just leave a comment how do you like the new mission. Since I'm working on this alone, it can take painfully long time to spot some bugs even they would be severe.

New content:
  • Added a new mission, Heavy Load

New features:
  • Added throwing knives. Press the melee key (default F) when targeting an enemy that is out of melee range to throw a knife. Damage is increased by Close Combat skill (former Melee Combat), and attacking unaware enemies deals double damage. Used knives can be picked again.

Fixes and improvements:
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies unable to shoot at crouching players as they should
  • The aiming cursor can't be moved beyond the screen edges anymore
  • Enemies that are spawned but distance is far should now have less impact on performance
  • Improved auto turrets accuracy against moving targets
  • Fixed a bug that allowed planting laser trip mines on another characters (stayed floating in the air after the character moves)
  • Jinx has now PDA in her hands while hacking
  • Jinx's Hacking ability can now be used to hack certain control panels that require a key card otherwise
  • The enemy attack range is now increased when they are targeting at players who are sniping from higher elevation
  • AI teammates attack range is increased in specific situations to make sure they are always able to shoot back
  • Added point of interest markers for all mission interactables (visible on the map after found by the player or team)
  • The area of the active mission objective is now shown on the map
  • Fixed a bug that allowed AI characters to shoot through floors sometimes
  • Players are now not able to take another copy of a key card they already have (multiplayer only)
  • It's now possible to throw grenades to higher locations while on outdoors
  • Using a First Aid Kit to heal a friendly doesn't fail anymore if the target makes a small move but stays within 2.5m range
  • The flash effect from exploding fire extinguishers is now less flashy than flashbangs' effect
  • Fixed a weird bug that caused a client player to be unable to move after exits a ladder if a dead host player is spectating
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies fly around too much and not fall down directly if died on a ladder
  • If a player dies and he has a rescued civilian follower, the civilian can now be rescued by another player
  • Enemies that are shooting shares their current target for a bit longer distance on higher difficulty levels (blocked by building walls)

Skill adjustments:
  • Melee Combat skill is renamed to Close Combat and it also affects Throwing Knives. The maximum damage bonus is now +100% instead of +50%

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.7.2 - Patch Notes

Hey, it's a time for a new version. The previous update added a couple of not so nice bugs that are fixed now. I'm working on a new mission and hopefully getting it ready before the end of the year. There is also a nice -60% SALE now, so if you don't own the game yet, now would a good chance to get it cheap!

New features:
  • AI teammates can be commanded to throw grenades (frag, flashbang, molotov, and smoke). This is added in the pause command screen that was introduced in the previous update. It's also possible to give a move order first and throw a grenade after that
  • Fire extinguishers can be shot at to release covering smoke and stun nearby characters (flashbang-like effect to the player)
  • Added climbable ladders. Also usable by all AI characters

Fixes and improvements:
  • All characters active special abilities cooldowns should now function correctly on multiplayer when playing as a client (Was broken by the last update and pretty much every ability stayed on permanently after activated...)
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game crash when playing as a Jinx and hacking a turret and aborting it before the hack is complete. (Quite brutal hacking failed message...)
  • Offscreen markers are now correctly on screen edges. Was wandering off sometimes with screen resolutions other than 1920x1080
  • Tossing grenades over interior walls inside bunker locations is now blocked
  • Fixed a bug that caused smoke cover bonus to be removed when stepping from one smoke area to another
  • Burnable drug stacks flame effect is now less demanding on the GPU
  • AI teammates that are overlapping each others should now be able to shoot at enemies

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.7.1 - Patch Notes

Hey, this update adds new ways to command AI teammates. The most important addition is that you can now issue move orders to individual teammates while the game is paused. Please let me know if you find some weird things happening while the game is paused.

Menu improvements:
  • Added a startup video. Just the logo and a smoke effect, but it's nicer than a black screen

New features:
  • AI teammates can now be commanded while the game is paused. This allows you to give orders to individual teammates. The default button is 'V'. The game is paused only in single player, however the new team command screen is also available in multiplayer
  • While quick commanding AI teammates (the old way), an individual AI teammate can be selected by clicking it with the 'middle mouse button', and the next move order is issued only to the selected one. The selection is cleared after the move command
  • While the grenade throw is active (holding 'G'), the grenade selection can be changed with the 'mouse wheel up/down'

Fixes and improvements:
  • AI teammates can now break windows by shooting or melee. They only break windows if that allows them to shoot aggroed enemies
  • AI teammates are now much better to find shooting locations when shooting out of a building through window holes
  • AI teammates are now more responsive to follow the player when the player moves fast
  • AI teammates shoot at explosive barrels if there are enemies inside the effective explosion radius
  • Doors are now correctly blocking AI characters, so they should not be able to ghost walk through doors anymore
  • Fixed a bug that caused a window broken with a melee strike sometimes to look intact, even it was possible to shoot through it

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.7.0 - New Mission Update!

Hey, a new version is now out and it contains a new mission! It's a pretty lengthy one and offers a decent amount of action. Also added a little extension to Hostage Negotiations mission, so it's a bit longer now too. Sorry that took a little too long since the last update.

Fixes and improvements:
  • Minimum armor durability (temporal regen point) is now affected by difficulty levels. 50 for easy and normal, 25 hard, 0 very hard
  • AI teammates should now defend themselves more actively while moving to revive a downed team member
  • AI teammates will now stop reviving a team member if progress is < 50% and a threatening enemy is spotted
  • AI teammates are now automatically set back to follow mode after a move command when the player arrives near the move order point
  • AI teammates should now rush to upper floors to chase enemies only if the enemies are targeting a player or an AI teammate
  • AI teammates now crouch if they are in the line of fire of another teammate who is shooting or wanting to shoot
  • Further improved how AI teammates try to avoid players' and each others line of fire
  • AI teammates should now move to full cover if possible in situations where threatened by enemies while reloading weapons
  • AI teammates can't reload their weapons simultaneously while reviving anymore
  • Possible fixed a bug that allowed AI teammates occasionally to shoot through full height walls
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies sometimes not to try to search players after seeing a dead body
  • Fixed a bug that caused sometimes controls not respond after trying to melee strike and shoot with an empty shotgun simultaneously
  • Smoke grenades 25% additional dodge bonus is now also applied when smoke is between players and shooting enemies (no need to stand directly inside smoke)
  • Fixed smoke grenades way too big collisions
  • Fixed a bug that caused smoke grenades and flashbangs to block AI navigation in tight spaces
  • Player characters are now pushed down if standing on really narrow edges without ground under their feet
  • Fixed a bug that caused explosive barrels not to deal damage sometimes
