Patch 2.0.4 - Queue Fix, Dragon Breath, 200 Coins Daily Reward

Summary: Believe we fixed infinite queue bug. If you are seeing queue times longer than 6 minutes please message your steam account and a screenshot. Daily rewards in the game, earn 200 coins for 60 minutes of play time. New ability Dragon breath.

New Features:

Daily Coin Reward - For the first and second ~30 minutes you play you can earn 100 coins for a total coin value of 200 per day. Now easier to earn chromas. You should see a pop-up letting you know you've earned it and that you need to play one more game for your coins to combine. We expect some issues with the prompt so if you see any please report in #bugs on Discord.

Dragon Breath Ability - Fires a frontal cone of fire dealing 5 damage per tick. Let's you equip a dragon helmet as well. Thanks to the community who made suggestions that inspired this ability.

Quality of Life:
- Discord Game Button now leads to the #rules-and-faq channel instead of dropping you in voice chat.

Bug Fix:
- Infinite queue bug should be fixed. If you are seeing match times of over 6 minutes please contact @BlueFire (Shaun) on Discord with a screenshot of your timer and info about your Steam account. Other matchmaking bugs are probably fixed due to this as well.


Next Feature: Duos. We are going to try our best to get this out tomorrow but are really running late tonight with the patch so its going to be tight. We'll be going heads down so apologize for any slow responses.

2.0.3 Faster Lobbies, Blackhole/BlinkBehind nerfed

Summary: Faster lobbies so more game time and less waiting. Massive balance changes against meta Blackhole and BlinkBehind.

About Duos. Next content patch should include duos. We expect to release this by Thursday with it potentially even launching tomorrow.

Quality of Life Features:
- Game lobby time has been reduced from 150s -> 90s
- Picking spawn point has been reduced from 30s -> 15s
- Meteor has a new look
- Increased max player count to 30 per game.

Balance Changes:
Overall making all major movement abilities a standard cooldown (8s). Increasing CD of projectiles to prevent as much spamming. IceNova and InstantHeal are significantly buffed so we will be keeping an eye on them.

Blackhole:
- CD 8 -> 9s
- Sucking power reduced by half (This means sprint, whirlwind, swordslash should easily get you out now)

BlinkBehind:
- DMG 10 -> 1
- CD 7 -> 8s
- Range 2500 -> 2000

Boomerang:
- CD 2 -> 3s

Cosmic Shards:
- CD 2 -> 2.5s

EntanglingWall:
- CD 7.5 -> 6.5

Fireball:
- CD 2.5 -> 3s
- Cast Time 0 -> 0.1s (This should make it a little less powerful as a shotgun ability)

ForwardDashAttack:
- CD 7s -> 8s

GroundWave:
- DMG 10 -> 15

IceNova:
- Radius 500 -> 700
- Slow 33% -> 50%

Instant Heal:
- 10 -> 30 HP
- CD 8 -> 20s

Meteor:
- CD 4 -> 5.5s

Spear Throw:
- CD 2.5 -> 3.5s

Sprint:
- Duration 2.5 -> 3s

SuperJump:
- CD 7 -> 8s

SwordSlash:
- CD 2.5 -> 2s
- Tornado now overrides your vertical movement making it more predictable for you and your opponents


Patch 2.0.2 Hotfixing Bugs. Names now show for ????

Summary: A few bug fixes that were causing issues.

Bug Fixes:
- Added support for CJK languages (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean). This should eliminate or reduce ????? names.
- Made some changes to significantly reduce the occurrences of server crashes during transitions from the queue.
- Added some additional logging to help us in tracking down the issue with players sometimes being placed on other player's teams. We may have reduced this occurrence slightly with the above fix.

Known Bugs:
- Deathcam and spectate mode don't always behave correctly. Working on a fix.
- Players are sometimes placed on another player's team. Working on a fix.

Patch 2.0.1 - Slower Zone Closing. Bug Fixes. Small balance changes

Patch 2.0.1

Summary: Aiming at the major pain points we're seeing in discord and reviews. Slower circle.
You'll need to relog to get the new patch and play with new players joining the game.

Minor Changes:
- Circle will now close about 60 seconds slower over the duration of the game. This should give some breathing room to early game fights.

Balance Changes:
IceNova
- Radius 400 -> 500

SuperJump
- CD 6 -> 7 sec

WaterOrb
- Now shrinks over its life as it shoots out water.
- No longer goes through wall abilities (Rising Wall and Entangling Wall).
- Speed 1000 -> 1500
- Range 3000 -> 4000

Blackhole
- Duration 4.5 -> 3.5 sec

Bug Fixes:
- Lobbies should no longer crash in rare cases.
- End game menu should no longer get stuck closed.
- Potentially fixed issue with players being placed on the same team.

KnownBugs:
- Deathcam and spectate mode don't always behave correctly. Working on a fix.

Patch 2.0.0! Launch Event with Cash Prizes Feb 7th - Mar 1! Leaving EA!

Summary: This patch turns on the tracking for the launch event. You can read the details here. You can win cash prizes and everyone who fills out the form and plays 50 games over the next 3 weeks will get 1500 in-game coins, enough to buy a chroma.

A note from the developers:
The past 5 months of Early Access has been great for Valgrave Immortal Plains. We saw over 50,000 registrations. We fixed countless gameplay bugs, server crashes, connection troubles, and performance issues for players. We had over ten thousand matches played. We created about a dozen new abilities for the game. Which came mostly from suggestions from the community. Working with you all, we have balanced the game and adjusted important aspects to make it the best game we can.

We realize that the lack of players has been a huge turnoff for new and passionate players alike. We believe with the full launch and contest we’ll be able to tackle these problems. Balance hasn’t always been perfect and we thank you, as a community, for helping us correct quickly and efficiently the major outliers we introduced and continue to look forward to this collaboration.

Yet full launch does not mean we are done updating the game. We are working on crafting a more interesting lobby experience so you have time to practice and get acquainted with abilities prior to the matches starting.

Additionally we will be updating NPCs. This will take the form of bosses who will create points of interest which will award powerful unique abilities. These battles will encourage players to fight at different zones of the match each game if they want to risk early battles, or take a more leisurely approach by spawning far away from these locations.

Finally we’ll be adding countless new abilities to the game. We have a vision where we turn the dozens today in hundreds tomorrow. Making the number of combinations skyrocket in the process.

We thank everyone again who has stuck through this Early Access process and hope you continue to support us as we build this game together to new heights. A big shout-out specifically to Yui-chan, TheHakon, Kukkel, Papafolopha, GetEmWetShaggy, and Simbah as community members who have been especially helpful in their suggestions and bug reporting. There have been countless others not named who have been crucial to our success.
