Sands of Salzaar Early Access Update Plan Content

Our current update plan after launch of Early Access is as follows:

1. Continue updating our Mod Editor to include documentation, tools, tutorial videos, a community for developers, and more.

2. Add voiceovers and sound effects to a large number of characters. Add more models for NPCs, as well as side stories for certain factions of NPCs.

3. Add new playable characters with their own complete storylines.

4. Add more crossovers between our other title, Hanjia Jianghu, including a full expansion pack with characters from the game.

5. Add custom combat features which will allow players to adjust battle variables.

6. In the Code: Princess Coral update, we will add more complete building features and more types of buildings. In addition, we will add combat formations which players must master and command in order to defeat large hordes of enemies. New hidden locations and dungeons with their own side stories will be introduced as well. Lastly, more diversity will be added to regions on the world map which will continue to be updated in future versions.

7. In the Code: Battle of the Blood Moon update, we will be adding a more refined crafting system complete with recipes. A city siege system will also be introduced with optimized siege weapons, defensive towers, and other elements of siege warfare. Sands of Salzaar and content created through our Mod Editor will also begin supporting online combat in this update.

8. In the Code: Sirocco Valley update, we will be adding an additional solo adventure mode in which players explore the Imperial Tomb. A multilingual support framework will also be added to Sands of Salzaar, with Chinese and Japanese as our officially supported languages.

Our current Early Access plan is as described above. Updates planned further in the future will be announced directly in the community. Thanks for your support!

No English support at launch

The English localization of Sands of Salzaar is still in progress. We apologize for not supporting English at the beginning of Early Access, and are grateful for your understanding! English support is one of our top priorities, and we aim to add it to the game ASAP.

Update patch note 1-3 (Fixing stutter, loading, mission issues)

Hello everyone! This update is mainly for fixing the stuck in loading, frame drops, stutter, and some other story mission issues. If you encountered any other issues in the game, please send us an email via [email protected]. We'll try to fix them as soon as possible.



[h3]-Bug fixes[/h3]
- Fixed the timer wouldn't disappear issue in the fighting contest.
- Fixed the issue where the next sequence would not be triggered after the question section of the fighting contest.
- Fixed the issue so uploading a new model would not replace the original models.
- Fixed issue where the confirm button will not show correctly when the screen is in 16:9 resolution.
- Fixed a few model piercing issues in several maps.

[h3]- Improvements[/h3]
- Added a new character to new game plus prologue fight sequence.
- Added skill voice over to 5 more leaders.
- Added new special illustration for a specific race.
- Lowered the difficulty of the fighting contest for a better experience.
- Adjusted the appearance of a few thieves' dens.
- Adjusted the default setting of the antialiasing option to 2X.

Temporary solution if you got stuck at the first loading screen

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for supporting the early access release of [Sands of Salzaar]! We've noticed a few issues in which players would get stuck at several menus which prevents them from starting the game.

We are working on these issues currently, and we assure you all we will release a patch for these issues as soon as possible.

Here are some temporary solutions we and the community discovered, for the players who encountered these frustrating issue to start the game.

1. Stuck in the first loading screen



- Please head over to the system setting of your windows system and search for Time&Date. Turn off the time zone auto-update function.



- Then select a random time zone below in the time zone menu.

2. Getting stuck in the steam library after pressing the [play] button

- If you encountered this issue, please try to close your anti-virus software first.
- If you are using Windows 10 system, please find the "UnityCrashHandler64" file in the game folder.



- Right-click and go to "property", click on "Safety", and then click "edit"



- Make sure the refuse option is checked. Then check "refuse" to "edit", "load and execute", "load", "overwrite" options.
- If you are not sure which user you've logged in with, just simply refuse all user access.

3. Crash when selecting "New Game"



- After reaching the main menu, activate the "Skip the intro" mod in the Mod menu.

If the solutions above could not solve the issue you encountered, or there is some other issue you have encountered in-game. Please feel free to send us an email via [email protected]. Sands of Salzaar is officially available on Steam Early Access.



Hi everyone! We're happy to announce that Sands of Salzaar is officially available on Steam Early Access as of January 3, 2020! We can't wait for you to create your own story and encounter all new experiences in Salzaar, just as we promised the amazing players who helped us during our closed beta!

Sands of Salzaar is a fantasy sandbox RPG set in an expansive desert consumed by chaos as various tribes struggle for control. The Salzaarian Desert is filled with countless factions and mysterious dungeons which you will encounter during the many chapters of your adventure.

You begin your adventure by selecting a character, each of which have their own skill trees and tactics in battle. Within 30 days, you must travel extensively across the Salzaarian Desert to recruit troops and horses, contend with friendly and competing factions, fight off hordes of bandits, and survive until the end.



The Early Access version of Sands of Salzaar has seen plenty of changes since our beta. Most importantly, our Mod Editor is now available for download in the Steam Workshop so you can begin tweaking the game in whichever ways you see fit!

In addition, we have updated in-game art, fixed various bugs present in earlier versions, optimized the pacing of the game, added new characters with their own skills and storylines, improved replayability and difficulty, and enabled Steam achievements.

We will continue to update Sands of Salzaar and will be publishing our update schedule on the Steam community. We welcome any and all adventurers ready to set off and create all new stories in the Salzaarian Desert!
