Circle of Daggers & Other Curiosities

Hi everyone,

We are ready with a new update. This version introduces new content and a variety of changes. First of all, we added 4 new Talent Stones so there are now 35 in the game.



There is a new statue with trap mechanism. Hero can attempt to steal a necklace from a trapped statue with thievery skill check. As planned, we will further develop traps and introduce new ones.



We added well-rested condition that lasts for two days. The hero will be well-rested if he rests at the tavern instead of camping at the wilderness, sleeping on some hard and perhaps wet soil. This condition gives a little boost to melee attack and ranged attack.



Also with this update, disease condition effect is reduced but now lasts longer. This creates some interesting emergent stories like seeking for remedy after a hard earned battle, only to find the town is also suffering from the same issue.

We added some new items as well as new suffixes to inflict bleeding effect.

ADDITIONS
  • Dreadful Strike Talent Stone: It gives 100% to hit for melee attacks and fears the enemy.
  • Dreadful Shot Talent Stone: It gives 100% to hit for ranged attacks and fears the enemy.
  • Circle of Daggers Talent Stone: Hero conjures a circle of daggers around him. There is a 30% chance that enemies who hit hero may bleed.
  • Tornado Kick Talent Stone: Hero turns around 360 degrees and makes a lightning attack to all enemies around him.
  • Queen statue: This is a trapped statue. There is a valuable necklace on it. Hero can steal it with a successful thievery check. It can be found at the dungeons or while travelling at wilderness.
  • Well rested condition: This is a new condition that lasts for two days. It is only gained when hero rests at the taverns. It gives a small boost to melee and ranged attacks.
  • Mercurial Helmet added
  • Warlord's Helmet added
  • Added new suffixes that give bleed power to melee and ranged weapons.


CHANGES
  • Diseased condition changed. Its effect is reduced but it now lasts for 4-7 days. While hero is diseased, hero's maximum health is reduced by 10%.
  • Starting talent stones are now placed at the action bar instead of backpack.
  • Added some information about talent stones at the introduction text.
  • Changed loot drop chances of locked chests. They drop better loot now.
  • Made Amulets and Rings a little cheaper.
  • Made Stone Golems, Marble Golems and Volcanic Golems immune to bleeding.


FIXES
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes hero can chop trees while moving.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes fearless monsters fear from weapon's fear ability.
  • Fixed a bug where circle of poison, fire and ice talent stones affect the monsters which were immune to them.
  • Fixed a bug when saving and loading while at the ancient shrine, game loads wrong props.
  • Fixed a visual bug at the options menu.
  • Fixed a visual bug at the character sheet rollover cards.

Development News: Curse of the Forsaken Queen

Hi everyone,

With the last update, we introduced 3 statues which give some attribute bonuses for a small donation. But we were planning more interactions with different statues. This week we worked on one of them, which is a queen statue. This statue has a valuable necklace on it. But it is suspicous because nobody stole it for many years. The hero can attempt to steal it with a successful thievery check. There is a poison trap on the statue. If thievery check fails, hero will get poisoned. There may be other surprise mechanisms attached to it too. This statue will come up on the overworld or at the dungeons like the other statues.



We are also working on some new equipment. Heavy helmets were not as varied as the medium or light helmets. So we are adding 2 more: Warlord’s Helmet and Mercurial Helmet. These are shown on the hero when equipt, like the other helmets. They will also have all the prefix and suffixes, so be prepared to find a helmet such as "Wondrous Mercurial Helmet of the Grizzly Bear".



We also worked on two new talent stones: Dreadful Strike and Dreadful Shot. These are melee and ranged talent stones which 100% hit and, as the names conveniently suggest, fear the enemy for 5-10 turns.

New Update Arrives! Statues of Forgotten Warriors

Hi everyone,
We are ready with another update. Statues are added to the game. These are statues of forgotten warriors. They can be found at dungeons as well as on the overworld as an incident. When hero donates some coins, they will give attribute bonuses for several days. An icon appears at top left side of the screen to show the effect and its duration. There are three statues for now. We plan to add different statues with different features.





Another thing we added is a new enemy faction: Phantom Sailors. These are ghosts of pirates. They guard a valuable treasure chest and have more probability to have the pickpocket ability. They come up at the overworld and sometimes around the forgotten warrior statues.



We also added new suffixes for melee and ranged weapons to have lightning power. (eg. Copper Shortsword of the Raging Sage)

On the balancing side, we reduced the effect of inventory weight on stamina regeneration. Hero was getting fatigue too frequently when carrying heavy items in his backpack.

  • Fixed a bug where some of the talent stones' cooldowns were not saved properly.

Small balance and bugfix update

See below update notes for version 0.696i.

CHANGES
  • Corrected Sea Serpent stats. Sea Serpent was little less powerful than it should be.
  • Coral Spiders were not meant to be fearless. Corrected that.
  • Increased health of Kraken Head and Kraken Tentacles.
  • Made fire bats immune to fire.
FIXES
  • Fixed an issue where escaped enemies were not count as win-condition.
  • Fixed a bug where some helmet's resistance stats were calculated wrongly.

Another small balance and GUI update

Hi everyone,
Here is the update notes for version 0.696b.

  • Balanced the starting equipment and attributes of some characters to offer more beginner friendly experience.
  • Put some more tooltips for some talent stones. When buying a talent stone at the shop, you can now see which attribute effects its damage output, so hero can make a more informed purchase.
