Beta Patch Notes 0.1.5.9

New magic spells and pet equipment are finally added to Mortal Online 2.

Added
  • Added Spiritism spells: Mental healing, Resurrect, Mental projectile, Ether momentum, Transcendental awareness
  • Added spirit boxes to the Magic Vendor.
  • Added support for AI teleport attacks
  • Added pet equipment crafting, pet armor weight impacts the speed, turn radius and stamina drain.

  • All players, including the local player, are now fully respawned instead of being regenerated on the client when travelling between dead and living.
  • The player death and resurrect sequence when travelling between worlds is now better synchronized between clients.
  • Player position network updates have been changed to follow the same standards as the AI. You might spawn a bit in the air when logging in the first time this patch. This update might fix the issue with floating horses after dismount but will have to be tested further.
  • Armor equip and unequip sequences will no longer play on the paperdoll.
  • Added more forgiving weight class message when eating(it appears sooner than before, making it easier to avoid accidental weight class change).
  • Update physics-related plugin. This could improve stability with some of the character physics (hair, armor and pp).
  • Lowered Bone Tissue hardness.

Known Issues
  • Some particles and sound effects from NPCs and creatures leaks into the etherworld. For example the troll will be very noticable. We are working on piping all the effects through the same path to be able to filter them effectively.

Beta Patch Notes 0.1.4.5

Revamped pet experience system, tons of clade gift changes and brand new creatures to fight are just some of the additions in patch 0.1.4.5!

Added
  • Certain books can now teach you not only the skill attached to it but also the skill’s parent skills if you do not know them.
  • Horse Bags now add a small amount of defense to the mount they are equipped on.
  • Pets can now have equipment that adds defense.
  • AI can now be set to hide until they aggro.
  • Pet leveling has changed; it now uses an experience system. Pets passively gain experience every 10th second while tamed, the amount of experience they gain per tick is based on their current loyalty. The amount uses a curve so the pet gains very little experience when it's under 800 loyalty and then from 800-1000 it gains much more. The pet gains even more experience if it's attacking something. Animal Care skill lowers the time between ticks from 10 down to 5 seconds.
  • Pets that gain enough experience to level up but the owner don't have enough pet points to level it up will now keep their experience and level up once the owner has enough pet points. You can see your pet's experience in the pet window.
  • Added Second Priest to Gaul Kor.
  • Added Third Priest to Morin Khur.
  • Added Sators with Spears.

  • UI save system should now create a new UI file for different users instead of overwriting the same file.
  • This will cause the UI to be reset the first time you use it.
  • You can now click the icon of an item in the vendor window to buy/sell it etc.
  • Added an auto optimize button for when your skill tree is overflowed, clicking it will level down all your overflowed skills to effective level 100 & lock them.
  • When using the auto optimize button in skills tree, you will now get chat messages
  • with info on what was modified.
  • Added a chat message saying if you're about to change a new weight class with a 30 sec cooldown to avoid getting spammed when eating/taking damage etc.
  • Added Human clade gift "Artisan", now adds 50 skill points to the professions tree.
  • You can now see the name of a clade gift in its tooltip.
  • Added tooltips to the allocated clade gift list in clade gift panel.
  • Clade gift tooltips will now say if it is a buff or not.
  • You can now see skill limitations in the skill tree.
  • When windows/containers are closed due to distance you now get a screen msg telling you why.
  • FPS is now locked to 60 FPS in the main menu.
  • You can now right-click to feed a pet in the 'All pets' window, it will always feed the first pet.
  • You can now right click to equip & unequip pet equipment (pet bags, pet armor).
  • Spellbook now displays data based on your skills & attributes.
  • Decreasing a skill while looking at your spells will now update the spell page.
  • Added text in skilltree when browsing unlearned skills saying if the skill can be learned through action.

  • Clade gift XP is now split between all living characters that have dealt damage to the enemy before it died.
  • Horse Bags are now generated using the pet equipment system when equipped.
  • If you don't have enough pet points to ride a pet it will now tell you before you try to mount and ignore the mount command.
  • New tamed pets should no longer have their level locked by default.
  • Pets no longer follow if their owner dies.
  • Horses now keep better distance when following a player.
  • Pets with no attacks now ignore attack commands.
  • Dead players can no longer see entities on the living side. No more "ghost scouting".
  • Dead players can now see other dead players. The "ghost" appearance is a draft and will be updated with the spiritism patch.
  • Moved some Troll spawners that caused some AI behaviour issues.
  • Improved randomized character generation routines. This allows us to extend NPC and creature variations to stuff like tattoos, patterns and other details in the future. First noticeable change is that NPCs from for example the Alvarin and Oghmir clades will now appear as either clade member (Veela/Sheevra or Blainn/Huergar).
  • The melee charge power curve changed again. It is slightly more linear and bumps the light spam attacks back on the menu, but not as strong as they have previously been.
  • Optimization: Multiple equipment updates in one tick are now updated as one batch instead of per part. This reduces character spawn overhead a bit.


Fixes
  • Some NPCs from the non-Human clades had accidentally changed appearance to Human Tindremene and are now restored.
  • Guards should now properly equip and unequip their weapons without the weapons instantly teleporting to and from their hands too early.
  • Guards no longer re-equip their weapons when switching targets.
  • A character queued for spawn could appear as a static figure if it died before the game spawned it in the world.
  • Characters no longer "spazz out" randomly after being killed, resulting in broken character parts flying all over the place. Undead for example would sometimes have their armor detach and rattle on the floor on death.
  • Cutting off limbs on characters should no longer cause some related armor parts to stay in the world and cause stretchy artifacts.
  • AI will now properly cut off limbs on opponents and give them impulses on successful kills. Guards for example can now dismember undeads on kill.
  • AI should no longer unintentionally have an absurd height reach. Guards for example could reach a player standing on top of a building while standing on the ground.
  • Arrows now get cleared when a character dies or disappears from the world.
  • Arrows are now visible on the bow again for other players.
  • Players no longer do the change armor animation when being loaded in the distance. The change armor animation now only happens when the other player intentionally changes equipment on their end.
  • Torches should now turn on lights and particles when a character appears in the distance. The torch would previously only turn on if the character equipped it while nearby.
  • Characters looking at other characters should no longer get head hitches when switching look-at targets.
  • Some creatures would launch into the air when killed due to incorrect collision settings.
  • Fixed rare HUD-related crash when equipping a weapon of different type (e.g. changing from bow to melee).
  • Fixed rare HUD-related crashes when removing a character from the world.
  • Fixed cloth physics related crash that sometimes happened when a player unequipped a cape and died directly after (while switching to the etherworld).
  • Fixed issue with pets now correctly being deleted from stables when a character was deleted.
  • Extraction bags should now be tagged with their owner just like loot bags.
  • Fixed a couple of bandit/risar camps that were missing spawners.
  • Moving while mounted now cancels logout.
  • Fixed issues caused by jumping just before you mounted.
  • Fixed NavMesh Issues with big jungle trees.
  • Fixed some rocks that gave wrong resources when mining.
  • Fixed mixed up Maalite and Nyx icons.
  • Fixed some world landscape issues.
  • Fixed a wall with no collision inside Morin Khur.

Beta Patch Notes 0.1.3.17

Patch 0.1.3.17 is now live!
New clade gifts, plenty of fixes and a few but important combat adjustments! You can find the details about the clade gifts separated from the main patch notes further down.

Added
  • Added so that counter dmg reduction now is printed in the combat log.
  • Added more info about overflowed skills.


Changes
  • Optimization: Some components in characters are now only created when needed.
  • Melee charge power curve changed. You now need to charge slightly longer before attacks do proper damage (spam attacks are weaker).
  • UI charge circle animation is now properly synchronized with melee, magic and ranged actions.
  • Melee charge speed increased.
  • Player now has to wait for a missed melee swing to fully recover before being able to do the next melee action (the recovery animation should now match the miss penalty duration).
  • Two handed weapon miss penalty increased.

  • Added alvarin clade gift 'Thaumaturge' now gives you a 50% chance to not consume any reagents upon casting a spell successfully.
  • Added oghmir clade gift 'Metalsmith' which decreases metal material usage by 6% when crafting
  • Added human clade gift 'Charismatic' which gives 5% better prices when buying & selling from NPC's
  • Added alvarin clade gift 'Stalker' reduces aggro range by 10%

Changes to clade gifts
  • All clade warcries now have a 10min cooldown.
  • Adjusted human 'Mental power' clade gift cooldown to 4min.
  • Adjusted alvarin warcry buff, it now lasts 12sec.
  • Adjusted alvarin clade gift 'Runner's high' it now lasts 20sec, increases stamina regen by 15% & increases movement speed by 3% with a 3min cooldown.
  • Adjusted alvarin clade gifts 'Runner' & Sprinter' to +1.25% max speed each & they now give +5 max stamina.
  • Adjusted alvarin clade gift 'True Sight' weakspot chance to +5.
  • Adjusted alvarin clade gift 'Mind Shield' increased duration to 16sec & lowered cooldown to 6min.
  • Adjusted oghmir clade gift 'Inhale' by 20sec(now 40sec), increased health reserve cost by 10% (now drains 132 per sec).
  • Adjusted oghmir cladegift 'rock solid', lowered cooldown to 3min & increased duration to 16s.
  • Adjusted thursar clade gift 'Styganthrope' to increase by 3.33 health regen per 10sec and reduce healing received by 35%.

Time to sort out the issues the last patch brought and do some further melee balancing!
